She is one of the most knowledgeable and professional instructors I have ever met. Her passion for education shines through with everything she does. She spent a ton of time making sure our questions are answered and explaining the whole process of how the program works, along with how each individual child learns. You can rest assured and feel confident working with this KUMON center. You will get a positive, honest and accurate assessment without any pressure. Well worth it even if you have to drive a bit to this center. Mrs. Nikita will welcome you and give her time generously to make sure you are satisfied.

We have been with Kumon of Foothill Ranch for over four years now. Having started at the beginning…read moreof the pandemic with the virtual option, we have been continuously using Kumon as a home study program. Since our kids go to an elementary school with a no homework policy, we also wanted to build the daily practice of doing homework in preparation for the transition when they will eventually have school homework (because I've heard from parents how much of a struggle that is). We started because our oldest had an affinity for learning and he really wanted to read. We knew that it was time to put him in Kumon, because I used to work with hundreds of students of all age ranges and what I would see is a lack of a strong foundation in their math and reading. We knew that Kumon's structured learning curriculum and individualized lesson planning would ensure that our kids would have a strong foundation with no holes. We were right. Our oldest learned all his sounds, built phonemic awareness, and was reading books by the time he turned five years old. Now he's in 2nd grade and working three years above his grade level in math. He has gained strong mental math ability through his daily practice with Kumon, and it amazes us how quickly he can work with large numbers and process multiple steps in his head. Our youngest is completely different from his sibling. It takes him a lot longer to learn a new concept. Thankfully the Kumon program is designed for kids like him too who need more repetition and the lesson plans are individualized to his learning ability. He continues to progress forward while making sure there are no gaps in his learning. Nikita has been a great partner in ensuring both of our kids are working at their own individualized pace. The Kumon program not only has helped our kids gain a strong foundation, but it has also taught them a growth mindset. With each new concept, our kids now know to expect it to be challenging and it will take longer to finish their work. However, with daily practice they see that the work gets easier, their times get faster, and that's when they know that they are in the process of mastering the new concept. We recommend Kumon to all of our friends whether it's for enrichment or for helping their kids catch up. Kumon's structured linear curriculum is its secret sauce to building a strong foundation that will set up any student for success.

I tried out a few tutoring places prior to finding AP Academy, and they weren't the right fit. One place in particular where I couldn't talk to the tutor for a post session update and the director who forgot that I had a meeting with her to discuss progress. I am so glad I found AP Academy. Mr. Rob was always prompt to sessions and he was invested in supporting my son with study materials and positive comments along the way. He gave me updates after each session which I appreciated. My son said he enjoyed working with Mr. Rob and now he is confident in the area of study he worked hard at! Also, Isabella is so sweet and very prompt with communication! Thanks, AP Academy!

A lot of academies have little to no communication with the directors and are unaware of the progress of their children. However, at AP academy, both directors are in majority of the time and are always nearby to answer any questions. They also have biweekly reports of the student's progress and assessments to record the students progress. If there is any drop or change in the progress, they make sure it is touched upon. Mr. Rob and Mrs. Tasha both put so much care into their students and make sure they are always succeeding. I highly recommend coming here!

He is exceptionally intelligent with a huge background in education and teaching. He always prioritizes his students and establishes an honest, comfortable space to ensure that his students are well taken care of. Before working with Jason, I never had any intention of attempting to go to a better university other than my hometown college; however, not only did he help me find confidence, but he guided me into valuing myself as an individual and student. Till this day, I still hold onto the advice he has given me that helped me grow in my college career and corporate career. If you are a parent or a student, do not miss the opportunity to work with Jason.

At the time, I did not know what writing could look like or do. I liked to read, so I just wanted to copy what I saw. But Jason took me seriously despite my lack of experience and knowledge, so I learned to take writing seriously. He did not focus on formalities and techniques right away. First, he taught me to look for stories in everything I watched and read. He showed me good movies, animated shows, comic books, articles, and more of all genres. What I appreciate most about him now is that he did not look down on any storytelling medium. He taught me not to be pretentious. When I started to write with him, Jason was encouraging and honest. He pushed me to write about myself for the first time. Before him, I did not know you could write about yourself unless you were a celebrity because I had not been exposed to nonfiction. He pushed me to experiment with form because he prioritized expression over formalities. I learned to be critical when editing by watching him edit my writing. I watched him pay attention to how writing sounds in one's head, which informs my writing to this day. He did not force me to write in a specific style, which I realize now is why I even have my own style. I am still writing in creative writing classes here at college and in my free time. If it were not for Jason, I would probably not be writing. I would probably not be at the school I'm in. I would probably not enjoy movies and shows across all genres, and would definitely not look for stories in everything I consume. He really is a great teacher and mentor.
