We had such a great time showing them around Southern California and immersing them in our American culture. The OUI Connect program is run by a very well organized team. We were mostly in contact with Hector who always kept us informed and responded quickly if we had any questions. I would highly recommend considering hosting an exchange student through OUI Connect. I feel that having high school aged children in the home made it even more fun for the exchange students. They had a lot in common and were also able to learn from each other. However, many host families are even empty nesters who would like to give back and help by hosting. The reason I chose to host this summer was to get a feel for the program before I allow my children to go abroad. I now feel very confident and safe with OUI Connect and will definitely reconnect with them in the future.

Our Italian student, Chiara, has stayed in contact ever since she left back to her homeland. We text each other quite often and send photos and videos of family time, trips and all sorts of things. I recently took a trip to Italy but, was still quite far from where Chiara's family lives so, Chiara and her mom got on a plane and flew to where I was. When we saw each other, we ran to give each other a big hug! It's like we're family now. My husband, myself and my mom, who Chiara calls "Grandma", are beyond grateful to Oui-Connect. Luis was the best!! He was amazing through the whole process and still stays in contact. I would absolutely recommend that families open their homes and hearts to this amazing experience. Given the holidays and having to drive my four kids around, it was a hectic time. Within an hour of missing the appointment, they canceled all my future bookings with no flexibility or understanding. It feels like they think being exclusive gives them the right to act dismissively, with an attitude of "too bad, that's your problem."
