Take a wonderful tour of Indianapolis with a learned Indiana native Carrie Zimmerman !!!…read more We were so fortunate to get the information and entertaining facts about the industries, sports and famous people of Indianapolis. We certainly felt grateful to hear of this city's amazing history. We went to the Speedway, heard about the famous authors, Brad Tarkington, Silverstein, Kurt Vonnegut and saw some beautiful architecture which included Monument Circle, museums, the theatres along Mass Ave, and the canal.

Not Ms. Carrie! She is out there hitting the road, enlightening visitors and showing the sights of Indianapolis to a appreciative audience. Circle City Tours is very flexible and will work with your schedule and timeline. I was picked up downtown for the tour but for a slight fee, Carrie dropped me off at an Airport hotel. I was grateful for her immense knowledge of the city, particularly historical facts. LOVED the trek through lovely Crown Hill cemetery, which is not morbid at all. Carrie pointed out the many grave sites of noted politicians, authors, artists, ex-Presidents and the locally prominent who lie in repose there. The Civil War burial section was also very touching. Ms. Carrie pointed out magnificent churches, memorials, art and children's museum, local eateries (Shapiro's Deli=yummy!) and the White River State Park area. We even got to check out all the Christmas decorations up at the Indy Speedway. She packs a lot into the 3-hour tours but when it's over, you feel a sense of accomplishment that you learned so much about Indianapolis-- a city made all the more beautiful than it already is, by the beautiful ministrations of Carrie and Circle City Tours. 5 YELP STARS.

We went to Poland, Germany, and Italy for a total of 3 weeks and Dave helped with a majority of it. I did book parts by myself with points and the group tour. I will say this if you are worried about going independently don't be. With a good guide book and Dave's advise and hotel selections you will have more fun then a group tour and have it on your own schedule. The booking process: Dave was understand and listened to what kind of experience you want and what your budget is, just make sure you are honest with him upfront about the budget so that he can help steer you in a good direction. We were very happy with our hotel selections and the locations. We told him what we wanted to do while we were there and he gave us a selection and if we weren't quite feeling it he listened and got right back with something more we wanted. Not only did he find good hotels for a good price, with the selections he made for us we felt more like a part of the city and taken in by the culture and the staff. He also booked our airfare, which was on pare with what you would get doing it yourself online but without the headache of having to do it. Listen to his advice about layovers! If it wasn't for him making us have a longer layover in JFK we would have miss 2 flights!!!! Last minute changes: So after all his hard work and a great vacation plan, we found out my wife was pregnant and Dave was super nice about everything and rebooked it all with the new dates with no additional commission. Yes we had change flight fees, but that was it and Dave made what could have been a huge mess just another simple step. Personality and Customer Satisfaction: You can't say enough about Dave as a person Cost/Value: To be honest it cost about the same as if I would have bargain hunted on expedia or whatever the difference is that I had a name and person to fall back on if something went wrong. With that I will be using Dave again.

Wonderful way to see the city. Our tour guide was excited about his city and very knowledgeable…read moreabout all its history. Nice diversity of haunted history both old and more recent. The previous review did a disservice to themselves by not reading the description of what a ghost walk entailed and this tour was no exception to a typical ghost tour. They must have had it confused with a paranormal investigation. It was a fantastic value for the money to both see the sights and gain insider knowledge about the local hauntings of Indy. The only "drawback" was that the tour description online said the tour would be 60 minutes and it ended up going for about 1 hour and 50 minutes. The tour guide in the beginning told us it would likely be one hour and 15 minutes, which was also OK, but nearly 2 hours in we were really hurting as there were more steps and standing than we anticipated. I tipped him generously since he took an extra 30+ minutes of his time, likely just out of his passion for history and the kindess of his heart. One thing you should also note is that the tour does not go in a loop and ends in a different location from where it begins, which adds extra steps on the route. That is not typical in ghost tours that I have done in other cities, so something to note. All in all, I'm delighted to have done it and it was absolutely worth the cost of admission. Pay no mind to the previous reviewer - she is no fun at parties and wants everyone else to be miserable too.

To start our tour guide did NOT wear a U.S. ghost tours T-shirt and have a lantern. He was wearing a large top hat and looked like Mr. Penguin from Batman. We started at the IRT theatre and learned about an old director who died outside of the theatre and supposedly haunts the theatre. However we could not experience the hauntings ourselves. He walked by the doors and checked to see if any were unlocked. He found one door that was unlocked, and we walked into part of a lobby area. I'm pretty sure we were trespassing. It was at this point that my husband and I realized that we were not going into ANY of the places on our tour, to do any sort of ghost hunt or experience any paranormal activity. Keep in mind for this tour we bought the addition of the sound dopplers. The tour was simply a history tour of our capital of Indianapolis. I would have had more fun going around by myself and my husband to supposed haunted and actually creepy locations of Muncie and Anderson Indiana. I just wasted 2 hours of my life and around $65.00. They referred to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the Indianapolis Murder Speedway. He said that that is what people call it... Umm no. I go to the race every year and NO ONE has EVER called it that. No one has been murdered at a race... No thrill no chill, zero starts don't do it.

This trail is a testament to the city's unique character, offering a glimpse into its hidden gems, from serene parks and vibrant playgrounds to eclectic restaurants and cozy coffee shops. The trail offers a sense of empowerment, allowing you to choose the mode of transportation that suits you best. Whether you conquer the 8-mile-long trail or opt for a shorter, more stroll, like my mom and I did, the choice is yours. We explored the downtown part of the trail, close to the federal building, all the way down to the river trail. It was a short distance but a journey filled with memorable experiences. One of the things I loved about the trail was how many interesting sculptures and pieces of art we saw along the way. Each one had a description and information about the artist, which added to the experience. We also stumbled upon some fantastic restaurants and coffee shops that we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. If you're visiting Indianapolis and looking for a fun and unique way to explore the city, check out the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. It's a gem that's worth discovering!
