I have been without hot water for 5 days and counting. Technician came to the house and turned off the water to all showers and said have to order parts. I call everyday and they say someone will call back, and if they call back comes through a SPAM CALL and your phone doesn't pick it up. They do not tell you that you have to call as soon as your final payment is made and request your account to be closed. Then they send you a bill to close the account. If you don't do this they continue taking payments under the ruse that it's to ensure you can call them for maintenance issues. If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely horrible to deal with. If you think you cancelled... you didn't! They kept billing after I cancelled the contract. Now they're harassing me, even though I ended our contract. Do not deal with these people. I would give a lower rating than one star. The previous entity is in bankruptcy. Right now my monthly charges for Simply Green is on our Enbridge monthly invoice. Enbridge will continue to include the monthly charges to end of October at which time they will cease charging these third party on the monthly invoice. Since 'Simply Green is in Bankrupcy under a bankruptcy trustee, monthly payments for the charges, I believe must be paid to the Trustee, certainly not this so call entity 'Crown Crest', after October. This so-call 'company' - Crown Crest, I believe has no legal basis for asking/demanding that monthly charges have to be paid to them. The several telephone conversations I've had, is clear in my opinion, they are fraudulent in the extreme. It's so egregious that when I told them monthly charges are on the Embridge, the crazed individuals at Crown Crest denied it. This is criminal behaviour I believe. read more

My husband "rented" an air conditioner in 2010 from a Simply Comfort salesman that showed up at our door, unbeknownst to me. Fast forward 7 years when we went to refinance our home for renovations, we found a lien against the title of our home for the a/c unit. We had no idea that this HVAC company did this. Needless to say, we had been paying approximately $56/month over 7 years for a total of $4,704.00. To get the lien off of our home we were required to pay $10,426 to "buy out" the a/c unit. That was a grand total of $15,130.00 for an a/c unit that would, otherwise, cost around the $5000 range. Fast forward to TODAY...we have just found out that Crown Crest Financial Corp. (Simply Comfort) has put yet ANOTHER lien on the title for $7000 for the SAME a/c. When we called to inquire about this lien there is no record of us even being customers. I have been calling all day, and get the complete run around saying that they can't help because there is no account related to my address. I have been directed to FIVE different contact numbers to no avail. The sale of our home is supposed to happen in 4 days and I have no idea if this will now happen because of this company. I also found out that this company is a defendant in a class action lawsuit alleging that they are in breach of the consumer protection law in registering security interests against consumers' home title. I just moved into a home and received a bill from Crown Crest capital. I called them and asked for documentation linking my property to the rental they are charging and all they could say was that I assumed a contract. I have been calling daily for 2 weeks requesting the contact and I have yet to receive anything. I have now escalated the issue and stop paying their invoice until they link my property via contract to their services. The fact that I have to follow up daily to get any information is ridiculous. Several months after a recent move, we received two invoices and several harassing phone messages from Crown Crest Financial. Consistent with the "invoice first, ask questions later" approach that others have complained about with this company, they were invoicing both us and the new owners of our former residence for the same device, probably hoping each would see the invoice and just pay it. (The new owner had already paid the invoice.) We later figured out they had been raising the monthly fee at about four times the rate of inflation (it turns out the fine print of the contract allows them to raise the fee whenever and however much they want to), for about 8 years. Far more importantly though, the two invoices made us realize that the company had actually been billing us for two water heaters for over three years, even though we only had one device in the house. This excess billing totaled over $1,400. (The charges appeared lumped together on the main page of our utility bill as "Charges from other companies," with the two charges only broken down on the last page of the bill.) When we finally reached a live voice, we asked him to provide the contract that these payments were based on, citing the invoice number they had provided earlier. While he did provide the first contract for the water heater that was actually in the house, he admitted that he could not find a contract for the second. He initiated an "investigation" and promised to get back within 48 hours. Nearly two weeks later, having heard nothing from them, we emailed and then called. They responded by merely providing us once again with the first contract. When we emailed back that we wanted the contract that was basis for the second set of payments (again citing the invoice # for reference), we received no response. After a fourth round of calls/emails, and a fourth time going over everything from the beginning, they committed to have the billing department refund the excess charges. They steadfastly refused to commit to any time period in which that this would happen, or when we would hear from them on this. That was over a month ago and we've received nothing, despite a fifth call where they again promised to send a refund. I've seen other complaints about this company's stealth invoicing practices on this and other sites. Sounds like an excellent candidate for a class action suit. read more

She kept yelling at me stating I wasn't authorized even after speaking with other reps previously who verified that I was. Once she started yelling and I asked for her supervisor she ended the call. This company is only good in collecting money but the customer service is very poor. We've been trying to contact them to correct our account numbers and it's been like almost 6 months they can't get it right. First few months, they charged our old account which goes to the new owners of our previous property. We get the new owners of our previous property to settle the accounts so that we won't pay for late fees and keep on reaching out to their customer service to correct it but every month, we are still getting the same issue. Apparently, they were able to fix the account number this month and still charged us with our previous bill (which were already been settled). It's so tiring to deal with this company. If we have an option to terminate the contract which we just grandfathered from the previous owner of our current property, we'll be happy to do it. They are so useless and just take advantage of their clients. read more
