HOLIDAY DECOR AND MORE!…read more This is a quaint little shop located in downtown Dahlonega, GA. The owner's granddaughter was sitting outside and monitoring sales on this Sunday during the Gold Rush Festival. She said that her grandmother had owned the store since before she was born, (approx. 20 years). She is an artist who loves to paint gourds. (fall and Christmas inspired), scarecrows, signs and other interesting items for the home. We wanted to purchase a couple of the standing scarecrows and gourds but did not want to carry them around with us since they were rather large. Although there were other gourds at the festival, hers had great detail and appeared very lively. We will definitely have to return in the next few weeks to collect some of the cute home decor items to add to our ever growing collection. Can't wait!

It looks like an episode of hoarders. There is just stuff EVERYWHERE. Some of the stuff looked cool but I was very overwhelmed. We were greeted by a woman who was sort of surprised we wanted a cup of coffee. The coffee was actually really good for regular drip coffee and very reasonably priced. Later that day I encouraged my mom to go in the shop to see the inside. She went in and upon entry, the same lady said, "my gift shop is closed. If you aren't here for coffee or dessert, you need to leave." My mom put up no fight and left. It was incredibly odd experience for all of this. The coffee was good but I'll never go back.

Something you would see on 60 minutes episode before a person was kidnapped. Suddenly a man from the back yelled out " you want a shot or a hot chocolate?". With fear and trepidation, we said no and he asked us if he scared us... we said "yes". We knew we had to get out of there fast. As we were trying to "escape", I saw a cat and tried to soften the awkwardness and talk to an older lady about the cat. Just as I did that, the older lady started yelling out. "They're not gonna buy anything, Jack! Why are they here if they don't wanna buy anything? They don't like our store? They should leave!!" He agreed and so did we! This has been the weirdest shopping experience of my life.

The store has a large selection of Vera Bradley products, (large bags, back packs, and wallets), which are currently discounted at 30% off. They have very nice and super affordable leather bags, silk blend scarves, hats and other accessories that you can add to add to your fall wardrobe. Many of the shops on Main carry art projects from local artists which just add to the ambiance of the shops. As soon as you walk into this shop, you encounter a collection of miniature painted horses and no two are alike. They make the perfect gift for the young horse lover in the family because of their uniqueness.
