I have personally been involved with the NMLC sense I was young, and I have many fond memories of…read morethe time I have spent there. I attribute my interest in marine biology and the greater world around me to the NMLC, and having such a wonderful humanitarian organization nearby is truly an honor. It is important to note that the national marine life center is not supposed to be some sort of aquarium or museum, but rather a conservation and protection facility which nurses injured marine animals back to health, and then releases them when possible. The portion known as the discovery center is only there to spread awareness of the issues that face these creatures and educate the public, and in that regard it does an excellent job. I would like to recommend that anyone in the area pay a visit to the marine life center. Donations are always appreciated, and go a long way to assuring the continued existence of marine species native to the Buzzards Bay area.

On your first visit they take a photo of your pet that appears on all your paperwork from then on out - remembering how cute your dog was as a puppy kind of lessens the blow of the bill. Dr. Fleming is a cool guy in that "relates to animals just as well if not better than humans" sort of way. When my 13-yr-old Retriever had some costly issues, he was very understanding and helped think of creative ways to deal. He even let me put off the bill until pay day. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and I'd probably still bring my other dog there if we lived nearby.
