The pottery pieces here were okay, but very expensive. This was definitely a tourist trap.

I am not a knitter and may never be...I don't know that yet. I am, however a color hound, always in…read moresearch of texture, hues, and a down right craft slut, so if you have supplies and things that i can make things...I'm in and looking. Also coffee. need coffee...and baked goods. Oddly enough this place does double duty. Yarn to the right, Coffee and big ole' cookies in the center, and ample seating to chill to the left. From the center of town, head towards the second busiest street that T's in heading towards the Farmer's market. YOU WILL GET SIDETRACKED Because there are lots of places to peruse on the way, but don't forget your mission. Yarn Coffee and a danged nice lady selling both. She dyes her own wool. I bet you could bespoke some colors if you ask her....I dunno...just saying...because she is really into her wool and seems to love what she does. It's just a hunch. At any rate, if you didn't pack your own or you ran out and jonesing to get the needles knocking, I'd come here if I was a knitter and on the island...bored.... If that doesn't appeal, go get a few of those really cool kits that you can make little creatures or cover soap with...that's pretty fun to do too and requires almost zero skill. At either rate, you will get a good conversation at worst and some supplies at best.

The shop has an amazing selection of gorgeous yarns (many if not all are hand-dyed), beautiful kits for fun projects and just a welcoming and comfy feel. The coffee cafe is an added bonus! Love going to Tidepool Coffee and Salish Sea Yarns!
