Dr. Chris's personality is well-suited to the pediatric field, and he really helps to put parents at ease. He takes time to explain his observations and recommendations for treatment and home-care. Additionally, he helps to teach the kids why oral care is so important, which I really appreciated. The dental assistant was great, too: she really listened to my daughter and thoroughly communicated each step throughout the cleaning, which helped my daughter calm down. The facility is top-notch. The kids get to watch movies while getting their teeth cleaned, and there's ample seating for parents if they want to watch. Even the waiting room is entertaining, with a jungle gym structure for the kiddos to play with until appointment time. I anticipate staying with this practice until my child is grown.

But there's an inherent asymmetry of information you have vis a vis uneducated parents and to even potentially suggest general anesthesia for the beginnings of cavities that don't even need to be treated is absolutely insane. Especially for a child. I get it that anesthesia brings you more revenue and eggs are expensive these days but really?

It was pretty conveniently-located for us, seemed to have decent online reviews, so we took a shot. They were able to get us in within a couple weeks. Office is nice enough and the strip mall it's in is getting a full cosmetic redo. Kid focused. In the waiting room, while I was distracted on my phone, my kid disappeared from their spot in front of the Disney movie that was playing and I panicked... until I saw they were in a separate room with a basketball hoop playing with the other waiting patients. Once we got into the treatment area, it was as you'd expect from a kid-focused dentist. TVs in the ceiling playing the same kid-friendly content, sunglasses handed to each kid for eye protection that they get to keep. The dental assistant did a great job with the cleaning, flossing and x-rays. Then the dentist did a fantastic job using their up to date technology to show us potential problem areas and walk through preventative treatment options. Let's be honest, going to the dentist, veterinarian - anything medically-related - is like going to get your car fixed, but with lab coats. It's scary when they start throwing all these treatments/repairs at you. The more they can confidently explain the who/what/why/where/how in simple language and not try to talk over my head, the better I can make an informed decision. Dr. Linda showed me on the digital x-ray, then physically on my kid's teeth what she was looking at and why it made sense to do some preventative treatment. My kid said they enjoyed the trip to the dentist very much. Thanks Dr. Linda! The team at the front desk were helpful as they could be providing full detail and helping us make the right decisions. From my perspective, they are not dirt cheap, but fair for the market and by no means as excessively expensive as some other dentists I've dealt with (for example our previous one). Fair pricing is all customers can ask for. Thanks Danielle! They provided the option of choosing from a new patient special for a comprehensive cleaning, exam and x-rays for ~$99 or we could sign up for one of their affordable dental savings plans. The best part was the low pressure sales approach that allowed us to decide between the options directly after the appointment (instead of beforehand) - so my kid could tell me whether they liked the experience and whether they wanted to come back. After getting the thumbs up from my kid, I tried to pick the highest priced dental savings plan, but was instead guided to the 'right choice' for us in that moment (middle level) that we could upgrade from when the time is right (i.e. when my kid needs Ortho). While they might have lost out on a whopping $3/month in fees by showing us the 'right choice,' they gained a lot of patient loyalty. Highly recommend GRiN Centennial. Of course, this could all change in the future (when we have bigger procedures that we will inevitably face) but for routine maintenance dentistry, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Yesterday my son a 9-year-old is teething because they pulled out two of his baby teeth so the adult teeth are trying to push through and his entire face is extremely swollen. Luckily I found a different dentist that fixes the teeth instead of just pulling them. If they say they want to pull their child's tooth, take them somewhere else because grin clearly doesn't care because they offered no fix. Just pulling. The front office has always been really nice though and helpful.

8/18/26 Back in the "old days" putting on a lingual bar, otherwise known as a bonded retainer, was…read morevery normal procedure after getting your braces off, especially if you worried about being able to keep putting on your retainer at night when you sleep...for the next 5 decades. Well, eventually my bar broke, so I went to an orthodontist my family had used before. It took quite a long time (45 min. to an hour) to remove the glue from one or two teeth, and replace a little part of the retainer. (Like it WAS like 2" long, it broke at 1.75", they removed and replaced the last .25", and glued it in place.) I wasn't sure that was going to fix the problem of my front bottom teeth shifting, but I only had a couple of months to worry about it, because the glue started falling off, and I had TWO areas that were poking me, and making my tongue raw, so I bought lots of wax from Walmart and tried to keep it covered. But I usually swallowed the wax while eating, and so I just needed to get the problem fixed. But I wasn't going to go to the same ortho. I happened to be over at Southlands on 8/14, and I walked into Garlock Orthodontists, and I asked if they had any availability to have it looked at. It was 2pm, and they said "Yes, how about 3pm?" And during that hour, they took free X-rays, and scans of my teeth and bonded retainer to help Dr. Garlock figure out what can be done. (This place is huge, with lots and lots of techs, I've never seen an ortho office this large before! And the theme is beachy, so very cute.) So Dr. Garlock came and looked at it, and said yes, they could fix it, but not a "temporary fix" like what was done, he suggested a whole new bar, so the glue and bar would have to be removed from all 6 teeth. I was really dreading this, because it was a pain having the glue removed from just 2 teeth, how long would this take? An hour or two?? So I was moved over to Stacy's chair (same day, a few minutes later), and she has either 19 or 29 years experience at this! I laid back and tried to be calm, it helped that the TV above me seemed to be playing something like a Hallmark movie. Stacy was so gentle with getting the glue off that I was able to calm my body and enjoy the movie. Next thing you know, she's gluing on the new bar! What, the whole thing, removing the old and gluing on the new, only took 25 minutes!! I told Stacy she was AMAZING, and I was so glad that I walked in the doors that day! I left there dazed and happy, and when I got home and looked at my teeth closely, she used a lot less glue than the bulky balls of glue I was used to. If you are looking around to have your bonded retainer replaced, please make sure that they have a way to do it in-house, because if they have to send it out for 3 weeks, that is 3 weeks without your retainer (they have to take it off to get a good scan), and your teeth are going to shift a lot in those 3 weeks. So I would highly recommend Garlock Ortho. I know that they also have an incentive program for your children, to earn points for their grades, good Dentist visits, etc., and then they can spend their points on various socks and gift cards to restaurants like Cheesecake Factory. So that's very fun for them! By the way, Dr. Garlock only does braces, he does not do what Dentists do, fill cavities and such. (This is a plus in my book.)
