The building is a combination of other buildings that you just want to explore, but on the inside, most are open for dining. And I would imagine in peak season, they need the space! The buffet was delicious, affordable, with beverages included in the price! Service was great, too! They make up your plate for you, fill your drinks, and even bus your table. Conveniently located right outside of Santee State Park or near the Santee National Golf Course, it's an easy trip to make no matter why you are in town!! The buffet is Southern Comfort foods at their best, BBQ, collards, fried fish, veggies, etc and it gets an additional items for dinner. Check it out if you're in the area!!

We were driving south on 95 and wanted to find a place to sit down for lunch but not take too long…read more This place fits the bill perfectly. It is only about 2.5 miles off I-95 at the entrance to the state park. We got to the road with no problem but passed it and had to turn around. It is tucked off the side of the road. As other reviewers mentioned, it is a buffet (no other option). You are separated from the food by a plexiglass shield, and you just point to what you want. Yes, the fried chicken was fabulous, and the pulled pork was good, too. Since I hadn't ever had tomato pie, I can't compare it to others, but it was good. All home cooked food... If you are on a diet, you might want to skip it. The only sugar-free drink offering was unsweet tea as the diet pepsi was out. I opted for 1/2 sweet and 1/2 unsweet. They fill your drinks for you and check on you in the dining area. Banana pudding for dessert? Yes, please!

The beef short ribs are only done by the lb and you can't do a 1/2 lb in case anyone is wondering. This is by far my favorite besides the fatty brisket they serve every day. Food was amazing and of course I had to get their banana pudding pie again! Literally heaven in my mouth. Shoutout to Derick he was working the patio and was cool. Made my experience here even sweeter.

That's only half true. The mac and cheese was incredible! I am still drooling over it. Nice crust on top.. so yummy. Now, I had the brisket because sometimes pork doesn't agree with me. I wish I would've just taken an antacid and had the pork. I ordered the sliced lean brisket. It was not as tender as I would think and a little on the dry side. My husband had the pulled pork and our daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. Both raved about it. I had a bite of the sandwich and instantly regretted my meat choice. We ordered a pint of the mac and cheese, which was amazing! We also order a side of the tallow fries. Those were delish as well. The line was super long but they did a good job at moving it along. We sat outside at the patio since we had our pup with us. Great place to check out when visiting Charleston but I would encourage you to try the pork over the brisket.

The best barbecue almost always comes from those unassuming hole in the wall places. My inner voice…read moreof confidence, the one that says "it's gonna be great," was already humming before I even stepped inside. At first glance, I wondered what exactly this industrial looking neighborhood had to do with good food. Still, I parked, walked in, and was immediately greeted by the unmistakable aroma of meat that had been slow smoking all day long. A very kind older lady welcomed me and explained that the buffet was all-you-can-eat for just $17. That sounded easy enough. I grabbed a plate and began my journey down the line. There were the staples: rice, collard greens, fried okra, hush puppies. Then came the showstoppers. A massive tray of mac & cheese, golden fried chicken, barbecue chicken, and pulled pork that looked like it had been tended with care. Oh, my. Off to the side sat squeeze bottles of sauce and ketchup, flanked by potato salad, cole slaw, and two varieties of pickles that added a crisp counterpoint to the richness of the meats. I ate far more than I intended, but every bite was worth it. The mac & cheese was excellent, very cheesy and full of flavor. Maybe not quite as good as when Mrs. K. blesses me with her recipe, but still, excellent. The barbecue chicken was moist and seasoned just right. The pulled pork was some of the best I have had, with a few larger pieces mixed in that gave it texture and depth. It was so good it really didn't need any sauce at all. If desserts were offered, I didn't see them. A small scoop of banana pudding would have tied the whole experience together in a perfect knot. Even without it, this was a five-star meal in my book. Yum, and then yum again. [Review 1512 of 2025 - 1366 in South Carolina - 25063 overall]
