Family friends have been members at South Jersey Shooting Club for quite some time now. While I've…read morenever been here (until last week) my family had accompanied them as guests throughout the years. I finally became a member ($275 for the year and a guest costs $15 per visit) and I couldn't be more excited to have a more local place to shoot. The membership includes multiple different outdoor ranges, the longest being out to 300 yards. My first trip after becoming a member was on a Wednesday after work. It was a beautiful day so I figured it would be busy on the range. We arrived around 5pm and there were no other cars. The range is separated from the main building entrance by an electronic gate that members scan to unlock. The gate opens providing you access to the range parking lot. There is a sign in sheet inside that you access from the back of the building. This is also the room you'd drop your money envelope in if you brought a guest. The ranges were clean and spacious. The rules are clear and easy to follow. There are also reminders of the rules posted in the ranges. We shot for an hour and enjoyed ourselves. My first visit was a very positive one and will beat driving an hour to get some range time in.

Everyone here I have met is helpful and always offers helpful tips. One of the board members took a great deal of time helping my son to zero in his new firearm. I learned some great tips as well. It's friendly, clean and reasonably priced.

I was told to "shut up" in front of my ten year old son when I calmly told the person working at…read morethe range that I didn't appreciate him yelling at me. I have been a member at the range for over ten years. This was the second time I brought my son along. Today will be the first and last time I am subject to this type of treatment. I have asked for a refund of my 2017-2018 dues which have already been prepaid. There was apparent confusion about what "unsupervised" and "unsupervised shooting" meant. I left my son sitting next to an unloaded firearm, with the action open while I went to my car to recharge my dead cell phone. My son was instructed to not touch the firearm or ammunition until I returned, which he acknowledged and followed the instructions. Before I could reach my car, 30 feet away, I was attacked by a screaming lunatic bully. This lunatic was a man I recognized, and had had a pleasant conversation with in the past. The person in question at one point in the past had even given me instruction on how to field strip one of my rifles, for which I was very appreciative. Today, however, was a different story. The level of verbal abuse I received was beyond comprehension. So much so, that I felt the biggest danger to myself and my son at the gun range was this man. His anger was such that I was not sure if he was about to resort to physical violence. He was inches from my face as he screamed that I had disrespected him. I indeed felt threatened by him. Needless to say, in order to not provoke this madman further, my son and I proceeded to pack up and leave the range as quickly as we could. As we tried to leave the range, we were again accosted by the man who claimed my son was not a member and was not even welcomed at the range. My son is, indeed, a paid member who for safety reasons will never set foot at telco again. I have no reason to put my son at risk. I have been active with the NRA for approximately 30 years. That being said, I am always open for any input regarding increased safety with regard to firearms. Had I been approached in a civil manner, I would have graciously followed any instruction or suggestion. I have no chip on my shoulder, and nothing to prove to anyone. To be verbally attacked and screamed at by this lunatic makes me suspect he may suffer from a psychological condition, or may be suffering the affects of dementia. In my opinion, quite dangerous when firearms are so readily handy. I will continue to enjoy the shooting sports, but will continue my pursuits elsewhere. Very Truly Yours, Anthony Leska
