A personal trainer is not just a teacher teaching you how to use the weight machines but a PARTNER…read morewith you on your fitness journey. From my past experience with personal trainers, Alan stands out as THE BEST one I've ever had. He took the time to understand my fitness goals and tailored the workouts to meet my personal needs. While we met only once a week for an hour, he kept me accountable throughout the week as I had to take a picture of EVERYTHING I ate and send it to him. He also checked-in with me on my stress levels (where at times, were pretty high), and the amount of sleep I got every night. Because of Alan's holistic approach (physical, nutrition, stress-management, and sleep), what I thought was impossible when we started became a reality almost seven months later as I was able to not only reach my goal weight but GO BEYOND it. YEAAAHH!!! We did it...TOGETHER!! Thanks Alan! Before I trained with Alan for 30 sessions, I also trained with Eric for 10 sessions. Eric was great in making sure the workout/movements/weight-lifting that I did was not causing any physical injury, which is common for any athlete. He also made sure I was feeling the muscle(s) working and wasn't doing the repetitive motion mindlessly--these were lessons that I took with me when I trained with Alan. Although I did not feel Eric was a right fit to help me reach my fitness goals, he is a trainer that I would recommend for someone who is already a personal trainer looking to improve their own training or getting back to working out after an injury. I am grateful for Eric's part of my fitness journey! Lastly, I want to mention the InBody machine at FITting Room Fitness Studio. You stand on the machine and it gives you a breakdown of your muscle, bone, fat, and water weight. You are also able to see your how much muscle you have on your right and left arms, trunk, and legs. The assessment is insightful because you can see the breakdown on how much muscle, bone, and fat you have in your body and how much weight you need to lose and muscles you need to gain. Remember, your weight is more than just a number! When I went on a cruise last year, the fitness guy was promoting the InBody assessment for $149 USD per person but as a discount for attending the fitness seminar it was only $99.99 USD for two people. I am so happy I got to do this assessment MONTHLY for FREE as part of my training. This alone makes FITting Room Fitness Studio stands out as a premier personal training studio. And... in case you were wondering, the fitness studio and bathrooms are clean. ;) Happy Training!

I attend this location solely for the Lesmills group exercise classes and for Jimmy's classes only…read moreas he is by far one of the best instructors out there! He cares about his students & takes his time to make sure that we are doing it correctly so that we don't waste our time and to ensure that we do not injure ourselves. He is very high energy which feeds off to the rest of us & we feel energy moving through us while doing his Combat & Pump class. Even before entering the group ex class & upon entering the gym, I am always greeted with a friendly and warm smile from Prabhjot! He always makes me feel welcomed, listens to any questions or concerns I have with care and he is just such a nice person to be able to see and interact with the moment I arrive at Goodlife. I love my chats with him! The one small complaint I have is the Recovery Room that has a couple of very good massage chairs in it. That room is always busy and it is very difficult to get access to one of those massage chairs. People don't care and will keep it on repeat even though they can see that others are waiting for the chairs. It would be cool if there can be a scanner attached to it somehow to start the machines based on your membership and can only be scanned a specific number of times within a certain time. I can't speak for any other areas in this location but I do notice that it is an extremely busy location during prime times such as after work.

goodlife fitness in unionville is honestly pretty solid. been going here for a few months now and i…read moregotta say its way better than i expected. first thing u notice is how big the place is theres a ton of equipment and its never too crowded even during peak hours sometimes u have to wait a min for a machine but overall its good. the treadmills are all in good shape and theres like a bunch of ellipticals and bikes too. the weight area is huge with plenty of benches and free weights. i also like the group classes they got some good ones like spin and hiit, i tried yoga once and it was okay the instructor was friendly enough. sometimes classes fill up fast tho so u gotta sign up early. they got a few personal trainers here too, seemed helpful when i watched some of them helping clients. the locker rooms are clean for the most part not perfect but decent. showers are fine, towels available if u need them. the front desk staff are chill, they always greet u but sometimes seem busy so might have to wait a sec. parking is okay got a decent lot but can get busy in the evenings. overall i like this location, its big, got good equipment, not too crowded and classes are fun. membership isnt cheap but you get what u pay for i guess. if ur in unionville and looking for a gym this is a solid option definetly worth checking out.

I thought my LA Fitness membership would get me in. It had never failed me in the USA…read more Unfortunately, LA Fitness memberships doesn't cross borders. As soon as I scanned my barcode, the alarms went off telling David the manager who was there that morning to inform me that my membership was not good at his club. Interestingly, even though my membership was not valid at his club, David was able to look at my membership profile and see that I am a longtime LA Fitness member and was able to allow me to workout at his club. This Markham club was comparable to the Diamond Bar, California club that I normally workout at. LA Fitness considers this club a Premier Plus Club...whatever that means. My regular premiere club and this club were basically the same, except mine in California provides towels for me. It was less fancy than their Signature Club in Irvine, CA, where their headquarters are at. They had treadmills and ellipticals that were equipped with a TV screen for you to watch. They had free weights and machines. Most of the equipment worked, not like at some of the other clubs I've been to. The club seemed clean. Paper towels and sanitizer were available. No towel service at this club. The parking lot was adequate. I was able to find a spot. It's a good LA Fitness gym. I still don't know what a premier plus club is. It sounds good, but, it is no different from a regular premier club in the USA. Thank you David for letting me get my work out in.

I normally hate writing bad reviews but this is the only gym where I have seen such lazy behavior…read morefrom the staff members. the reason why I liked this club is because it's just for women's and barely anyone is inside the gym (which is great for this time period). HOWEVER the staff here are extremely rude (expect for the older lady with the blond hair) and from my point of view they get paid for being on their phone. No matter how nice you are to them, they always give you attitude... Also I want to point out that no one wears a mask here except for the staff, and "wiping down the machines" doesn't do much. It only makes the next person who uses it feel a bit better that it is SLIGHTLY cleaned. I have also seen them "clean the Machines after everyone is gone, and it is complete nonsense. The alcohol spray misses big chunks of the machine and it doesn't get cleaned properly. Overall I won't be coming to this gym in a while and I hope they fix this mess that has been going on for the last two years I have been here.

I use the free trial week pass to try out this Goodlife Fitness Club…read more This is one of those Women only health club on top of Loblaws. I was there just asking the price, tour the facilities and get some information and they make you talk to one of their counsellor and you have to tell them your "life history" in order to able to get the different price structure.. but at least I have the 1 week trial pass to try out the facilities. This is smaller than most of the gyms I been too, the machines are quite packed together. I found the inside is quite dark because there are no outside windows. I went there to try out in the Morning and in the evening. All these time, there are plenty of machines I can use. The change room is ok in size.. Make sure you bring your own locks for the lockers. However the main problem is the different fitness classes I am interested. In order to get in a class, you have to get there early at least 15-20 minutes to get a ticket. If the class is full and really popular, then you might not get in. Even if you get in, the classes are really crowded! They packed close to 40 people in a small room. Goodlife fitness classes are set up that classes are the same for 3 months, so if you go to Bodypump class everyday, it can be taught by different instructors, but they will be using the same music doing the same routine for 3 months before they will change. In theory, it is good for people that like a certain routine, they know what to expect even when they go to another Goodlife Fitness and the classes and the music will still be the same. However, I did get bored even after 1 week! I cannot understand how they listen to same music for 3 months!! And for the body, I think it does need constant challenge...that's why is important to break the routine to do different things... Goodlife Fitness membership does has its advantages since it can be used at any of the clubs in the area. That is great flexibility. The price is pretty competitive and close to what I would expect. The sales did do a followup call. She was not too pushy. The location is quite convenient, since it is inside Loblaws you can always do your grocery shopping right after you exercise. They do have child care services if you need to use them.
