We were in the area for a short vacation so I always want to try out different CrossFit gyms when visiting.
I found Solid Core on the CrossFIt.com website, the beauty of the CrossFit communityis that "drop-ins" are allowed and encouraged. I have always felt welcomed at the gyms I visit, Solid Core was no different.
Coach Erin welcomed me in, I always arrive early to get the paperwork done and look around the facility. It's a standard crossfit gym with all the proper equipment and apparatuses around the gym.
The work out started with a quality warm-up complete with static and active stretching and an EMOM (every minute on the minute) of active movements to get the blood flowing. I always appreciate when coaches integrate the movements of the metcon (the actual workout of the day) within the warm-up. The metcon was both challenging and fun, both movements were my weaknesses. Coach Erin encourages the athletes to scale appropriately and encouraged us to scale within the workout if the movements proved to be too difficult.
The entire group were warm and welcoming despite it being 5:30 AM, I felt part of the group and really enjoyed the workout and camaraderie. If I lived in the area, this would be my Box!
I highly recommend trying out Solid Core either if you are a seasoned crossfitter or thinking about trying crosssfit for the first time! read more
