Run away from this place! The instructor was very rude and impatient. I joined so I can learn the proper techniques, and exercises. The instructor was quick to criticize and would not take the time to even teach an exercise. Arturo acts as though everyone should know the exercises already. I dealt with arrogance for 2 classes. On the 3rd class he went as for as to point out my husband who was waiting in the car was out of shape and should be inside. My husband is a disabled veteran who served for 23 years and still works from sun up to sundown. During the 4th class the insults kept continuing. I had enough and walked out. I tried logging in to the app about 20 minutes later and found that the instructor had cancelled my account. When I called to see about a refund he proceeded to insult me and say I'm not paying attention and I'm not patient. He even tried to say other people in the class agree with him. He offered for me to come back after he insulted me? I said after he insulted me I just wanted a refund. He refused to give a refund and then he hung up. He later texted saying his rate is $55 per hour and since I went to 4 classes that is the $200 I paid. He then called my husband the next day and said I was impatient and kept saying the same things he said the day before. He still refused to give back the money for the remaining classes. If you want a patient instructor that will help you get into fitness and not degrade you then I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Both my sons attended CrossFit Orenda's summer camp for kids and teens. They play football in the fall. Adding CrossFit to their regime has done wonders. This really is a perfect workout on it's own, or for additional training for another sport. I cannot say enough about this wonderful gym, and Arturo, the owner/operator & trainer. The gym is immaculately clean; no weird "sweaty feet" smells that permeate so many others. The work outs are tough, but, at the same time, fun and effective. He literally has a workout for everyone and anyone. In addition to being a wonderful gym, Arturo is heavily involved w/ community. Words can't begin to explain how amazing this gym is! This is a super family-friendly gym that offers: group Crossfit wods, Crossfit Kids classes several days per week, individual Personal Training at almost any time, Olympic Lifting, speed/agility training, powerlifting, and basic strength training. The easiest things to highlight are below. For starters: Arturo is the only trainer here (he is also the gym owner) and he is highly educated. His level of understanding the human body and biomechanics far surpass that of at least 99% of all trainers I have ever met (including the ones with 4+ year degrees)- and as a Medical professional with over 8 years of schooling, this means a lot to me! He is so committed to helping people achieve their goals, it isn't even funny. And his coaching and cueing are generally more spot-on than anyone is prepared for. Seriously, I've seen this guy coach a full kids class (he's Crossfit Kids Certified), teach Olympic lifting, use a TRX with a personal training client, and then coach a full group Crossfit class- all before most of us have had our breakfast!! His hours at this gym are insane and his dedication is non-human. The other amazing part, is the gym itself! The equipment at Crossfit Orenda is the best you can get (Concept II rowers, Rogue everything, Pendlay weights, etc) and the facility itself is so perfect; it is very clear as soon as you walk in this gym that Arturo did not cut corners or buy any of the cheap equipment that never lasts. There are 6 olympic lifting platforms, several sets of rings, several sets of boxes, KG and lbs weight sets, kettlebells, medicine balls, mobility bands, and so much more. However, one of the nicest features of Crossfit Orenda is the overall cleanliness. Arturo must be OCD when goes to clean this place because it is always spotless. The black rubber mats (that almost always look dirty in almost any gym) are always clean and never sweaty/dirty/gross. All bars and bells are clean and organized. The medicine balls are cared for very nicely and always clean. And the lifting platforms are probably the nicest I've ever seen! (they are level with the rubber matting and bolted to the floor so they are super-solid and not warped)!! This is definitely not your typical "box"! Overall, if you are in the Marysville/Arlington/Smokey Point area and you are looking for a great gym with the best equipment and a good owner/coach- then CrossFit Orenda is the place you are looking for. With so many different packages that you can try- from open gym to unlimited Crossfit classes to one on one personal training, it doesn't make sense to not check this place out! Seriously, my wife and I drive to this gym from Everett with our 9 month old strapped in the back seat and don't regret the miserable drive one bit!! read more

Not what I was told it would be like. Very misleading. I signed up for a 6 week challenge, 3 hours per week. I have yet to have a 1 hour class. After a 10 min warmup, some days are 15 minutes. Arturo talks down to his trainers to the point of harassment. Not a welcoming place. When you leave, Arturo talks to his trainers and other customers behind your back. Don't expect additional instruction unless you are paying for a personal session. Arturo thinks a personalized session is answering questions if you don't understand the exercise description. If you get on Arturo's bad side, he won't acknowledge you or give you ANY instruction in the class. The culture of the class is not welcoming. Arturo doesn't answer questions so other students don't either. Not a place I would go again. Waiting for my prepaid time to finish. read more

This isn't your usual or typical gym; however what this gym provides you won't find anywhere else. The community environment and support are incomparable to other gyms in the area. The gym is clean and the equipment is top notch; then there is the coaching. Arturo is very knowledgeable in personal training and Cross-fit as well meal planning and meal prep. The fitness journey isn't easy; however with all that this gym and Arturo have to offer you, you can bet that your journey will be filled with the support and environment that you need to succeed. The ability to coach all fitness levels and ages at once is also not comparable another great thing about Arturo and the gym he has created. Best place around! read more

Earlier this year I reached out to Arturo when the gym I used to train at unexpectedly cancelled their barbell club. Without even really getting to know me first, Arturo allowed me to come train at his gym the same day I first contacted him so I didn't have to alter my training plan, and even allowed me to stay later than the advertised hours to finish my session. I know of no other coach or gym owner who would have done that for someone they just met over the phone the same day. To me it speaks volumes in regards to his character and generosity that he would take that risk with me. He has went out of his way to buy top of the line equipment to accommodate my training and has been extremely flexible when it comes to changing my training hours because of my job hours and family obligations. I would recommend this gym highly to anyone. read more

If intimidation and humiliation motivate you, this gym is for you. I will be perfectly clear as to what happened to me: The owner watched me struggle with a weight with a smirk on his face. When he instructed me to add more weight, and i questioned this, he humiliated me in front of the class. He said, "if you don't add more weight you aren't trying, and you will never improve." He had all the class members lift the SAME amount of weight, regardless of age or gender. It was clear I had no business lifting more, but he goaded me to do it. I am not trying to make varsity football, I am a 52 year old trying to get fit. He has serious self esteem issues to go after someone my age. I used a gift certificate won at a charity auction to sign up for the class, and it was clear from day one that he was not happy about this situation. I think the fact that he threw it on the ground gave it away. If your self esteem is lower than his, and you respond to abuse, give it a go. read more
