On the hunt for a new group fitness spot, I decided to take advantage of their one free class. My friend and I decided to try the hot pilates, and it was pretty different from my past group fitness classes. There are no live instructors (you follow a video screen instead) and each sauna holds 3 people maximum. I'm not going to compare the format to other studios though. When I arrived, the receptionist did a great job of explaining where everything is and what resources are available. I stepped into the sauna, and I enjoyed how adjustable the details were (like temperature and volume). However, since I signed up for mat pilates, having to follow the screen was a little difficult. There were multiple points in the workout where I couldn't see what was going on, as I was on the floor and the screen was high up on the wall. I wish the screen was a little lower for this activity or that there were multiple screens. The sauna itself was also a little dirty. There were dust bunnies in the corner. I also don't know how 3 people fit in one sauna for pilates/yoga given the space. Overall, it was pretty fun to try out but I don't know if it's my cup of tea. I am a member. The staff are so nice and I love the variety of workouts. Bathroom is always clean. It takes some time to find a specialist to fix the bike machine and the rowing machines, and the family membership is sooo reasonable. I would say to corporate, please send us an email or letter to inform us of any price increase and not put the burden on the front desk person to explain herself as to why corporate did not send out notices. If you're looking to get your sweat on this is it! I went here after a friend invited me to a trial class. I have to say it's an interesting way to exercise. The location is kept well and sanitized. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the equipment and programs. I tried an isometric and HIT rowing class- definitely made me sweat. Thank goodness the HIT Class was only 15min!! All classes are done in a infra-res room where you can set up the temp up to 130F. If you're looking for a good meltdown and strengthening exercise program this may be it! Check them out! read more

The virtual courses are well structured and infrared saunas enhance the workouts significantly. I always leave feeling like I pushed myself as far I could. It's a clean place, staff Is nice in generally, only reason they get 2 stars, but beware of miss information/ or "wording", I signed up initially wanting to attend the south Broadway location, they told me they would honor the new opening special and I could transfer when they officially opened. Now that I'm wanting to transfer, no one knows what I'm talking about making it seem as if though I'm lying or making it it. I was told "my staff knows there are no transfers" well obviously that day someone didn't know or they really wanted to get a new member sign up under their belt. I joined Hotworx the week before Thanksgiving and I have been loving it. I wanted to wait and review it after I had adequate time to learn its pros and cons. I joined with my daughter and my husband. 1. The concept is awesome. I love working out in an infrared sauna and sweating my butt off. By the time I walk out of my 40-minute barre or yoga class, I am dripping with sweat. 2. I feel like it is a safe environment during Covid b/c when you walk in you might encounter a couple of people who are wearing a mask, but once inside your very own heated sauna you are by yourself. This is excellent. I have seen the occasional person without a mask. Aren't they everywhere? LOL 3. You have many options of workouts available to you: Barre, Warrior, Yoga, Pilates, Core, Spin, Blast ( a type of cycle) Buns, and Bands. And if for some reason you don't want to do any of these classes just pull up your favorite youtube workout on your phone and get at it. 4. Once you walk into the sauna and the workout begins, you can turn the volume up or down on the instructor. The volume dial is located on the ceiling. I suggest you follow along with the instructor the first time you do the class but then the next time turn her down and put your own tunes in your ears and take your workout experience to the next level. You aren't tied to doing what she's doing anyway, you can do your own thing once you are in the sauna. They don't care. 5. They are open 24 hours a day so forget the excuse that you don't have time to workout. 6. There is an app for you to schedule your workout for the next day and if for some reason you need a set schedule just ask one of the friendly people who work there and they can put it in the system for you. 7. There is another app that allows you to open the door should you go at 10 p. Staff is only there during normal working hours. The rest of the time you go in and out on your own. Don't worry there are security cameras on the premises. 8. There is a shower and a bathroom. 9. There is a vending machine with healthy snacks and drinks and mats, towels and bands for rental should you forget yours at the house. Rentals are around $5. 10. If you want they will spray yummy essential oil spray in your room. I love this. And if you don't want it, they won't spray it. I also bring my own sometimes. 11. Did I mention it's very affordable to join? 12. Rooms and equipment are wiped down between each and every workout. When you finish with your room, there are disinfectant wipes and a towel with disinfectant spray for you to wipe down every single thing you either touched or dripped sweat on. If you are there at night you are expected to make sure you leave everything clean and wiped down for the next person. You can lose your membership if it is found out that you are leaving things dirty in the bathroom or failing to uphold your part by not cleaning the rooms and equipment once you are finished. So far most people seem courteous and do their part. Only once I noticed a dirty bathroom when I was there early in the morning and the next day the staff had placed a sign to remind people to please be clean and not be a dirty rascal. 13. You can bring your phone into the sauna just keep it away from the vents as it will overheat. Mine has only overheated once and now I have learned to keep it on the opposite wall from the vents or by the door and it does not overheat. That way I have my music from Spotify or I can watch my own workout video to workout to instead of watching the hotworx classes. 14. Bring water and make sure it has a closed top. 15. The staff is super friendly. Shout out to Julie, Joanna, Mario, and Ryanna. You guys are the BEST. 16. You can use a fitness tracker and link it to your Hotworx app to track your calorie burn. The apple watch works best but other Fitbit devices work too. Those were all the cool things and positive things. Here are the only downsides and they aren't really a downside. 1. You must purchase their mat and towel as regular mats may melt into the floor. This is a potential downside simply b/c their mats cost $100 and the towels are approximately $50. Also for the buns class and the bands class, you will need to purchase the bands used for the buns class and the bands used for the bands class. I have purchased only the mat and towel since the buns class is still challenging w/o the band and I haven't done the bands class yet. I intend to get these products in the future though. Tip 1: You can get Hotworx mats on eBay for $42. Tip 2: If you are going before 8 or 9 am arrive early b/c the sauna may not be turned on and it will need about 10-15 minutes to reach its apex. 2. There is a mini gym on site. It has kettlebells and free weights but only 1 to 2 people can work out in the space at a time. 3. Tall people might be a bit cramped since sauna ceilings are 7' so reaching overhead might prove challenging. Go check Hotworx out for yourself. Do it now!!! read more

I am a huge fan of HOTWORX, just not this location. They have oversold it and it's nearly impossible to get in. I appreciate the covid precautions but can't ever book anything until after 9pm. Only sign up if you can get in after 9 or even 10pm. They do say they can block out a time for you but it seems they have already done that for their first members who signed up because it's always fully booked. read more
