I'll speak on this place more, but first I need to backtrack a bit. I mentioned in my first sentence of this review that the place is cool. Let me define this as the "vibe" is cool. The building is anything but. It can get warm inside. But this all adds to the ambiance of the archetypal gritty gym where one would expect to see Rocky sparring in the ring. There is a huge fan cooling the patrons, and to be honest, it ain't very gritty. The insides are well kept and the bags, ring, ropes, and treadmills are very well maintained. I like how the 1930s building is kind of tucked away on a backwater street. Sidewalk cracked and crumbling a bit. Reminiscent of a scene from the movie The Last Picture Show. I highly recommend that you poke your head inside, bob and weave to the desk, and ask how you can become part of the happenings. When I visited, I saw boxers of all ages. Young Boys, women, and grown men. Only the spectators remained inactive. Myself included. I can sit with the best of them. Quick Tip: If your significant other isn't interested in participating, or being a spectator, they can go next door to the vintage shop and dig through what's in there. Instead of watching "boxing", they can "unbox" finds secreted away within those walls.

It seems they have switched ownership or management and someone doesn't know what they're doing. Noticeable change in quality, organization and service. Multiple times over the summer I was charge twice or told I didn't pay when I produced a receipt. Had several times we made reservations just to be told we didn't. Our swim instructor is amazing, too bad they price their own community out. Would not recommend until they literally clean up, upgrade equipment and serve the community rather than their bank accounts trying to give as little as possible for the dollar spent.

I would ask ways resort to doing a lot of cardio and cutting my carbs and calories, but that unfortunately backfired because I would lose weight, then gain it all back within the next few months. I honestly thought I was broken because nothing I tried works. My sleep was terrible and I always felt bloated. My sex drive also disappeared completely and some days, I could barely get through the day because of how tired and in a brain fog I was. Dean put together a nutrition plan that was way more flexible, and I was able to stick to because it was as stringent as everything else I had tried before. I slowly started feeling better, and I was shocked to see that I was eating more than any other diet I tried and losing body fat completely. My sleep got 100 times better, so I don't have to sit and stare at the ceiling every night anymore dreading the next day. The workouts were also super fun, and really helped me stay motivated because I felt like I was always progressing. As a final point, dean is very compassionate and understanding. He always had an answer for every question and made me feel like there is actually a solution for me to be in better health, physically and mentally.
