I've done the free intro class and a couple drop-ins at this box. Frank is an attentive, patient, and experienced coach, knows what he's doing, and is very fit himself. Their prices are a hair cheaper than boxes in the city ($25 drop-ins, $300 monthly unlimited, $75 personal training session). The classes I've taken were fun and got me to work up a sweat, but I haven't really felt challenged by them and didn't think they fit in as much as I'm used to in an hour-long class. I like CrossFitt because I like to feel like on the verge of death after each WOD, and I don't get that here. I think it's a great box for beginners and those starting their fitness or weight loss journeys. If you've been CrossFitting for longer than a couple years, it may be too easy for you, and thus, not worth it. If you want to sign up, take advantage of their $400 for three months deal for new members on their website or their Yelp deal, of course. read more

Good workouts/WODs and nice folk. My only complaint is their cancellation policy. Tried to cancel on my last day of membership, but was told there's a 30-day cancellation policy where you have to give notice first. When I originally signed up, I had stated I only wanted one month of membership. Guess I should've read the fine print closer. TL;DR: Paid an extra $160 I didn't want to, make sure to cancel your membership 30 days in advance. Other Crossfit boxes I've worked out at don't have this policy/are more flexible. read more

My perspective here comes from the fact that I'm a health care professional myself in a related area. The trainers are very knowledgeable and are very concerned with the safety of everyone here. You'll get some one-on-one training and advice that'll help you get stronger, get fit and prevent injury. On top of that everyone down here is super friendly and supportive and there's no "gym mentality". You'll be inspired to be your best and you'll perform better than you thought was possible. Crossfit Great Neck is awesome. I have family in the area so when I visit it is always a pleasure to drop in here. All the coaches are extremely knowledgeably, friendly and great at what they do. I have visited a handful of times over the past year and the members know and remember me and if they do not they introduce themselves. If you are new to crossfit you can not find a better place to start or if you are just looking for a great box this is the place for you. read more

Great staff and great facility. I believe the coach is from an other planet, perhaps Krypton. He has super human strength and his cells regenerate 10x faster than that of a normal human being. I highly recommend the gym! read more

I've been to a few boxes and CFGN is undoubtably the best. Before crossfit, I dreaded working out and was basically in zombie mode every time I stepped in a typical gym. At first I was nervous about the intensity of the workouts but, I was always encouraged to go at my own pace and push myself at the same time. The coaches know my strengths/weaknesses and are always pointing out how I can improve. They are so knowledgeable and always make sure that each member is safe and performing the movements correctly. The community is tight knit and loving and everyone is like family. The energy is great and I always feel better leaving than when I came in. I encourage everyone to visit at least once, you'll definitely be hooked. read more

It's intimidating to walk into a Crossfit box as a new member. Each box becomes its own family of sorts and has its own feel. But CFGN was welcoming from the start. Everyone is free to let their personality hang out and the training from owner, Joe Floria, is excellent. read more

I would give this place 6 stars if I could! From the second I walked into Crossfit Great Neck to try a free class I felt welcomed and by the end of the first class I was hooked. Aside from being an amazing workout I have met a bunch of great people since joining. Since I started in May 2014 I have lost ten pounds and 2 dress sizes. I'm starting to see changes in my body that I never saw after years of working out at a regular gym. In addition, the coaches are amazing and really know their stuff. If you are stuck in a work out rut and want to try a type of exercise that will get you fitter and stronger this is the place for you! read more

I just came as an out-of-town visitor for one day. I had a poor initial experience with Cross Fit (at a different place), so I wanted to give it a second chance. Everyone here including today's coach, Frank, was very supportive and welcoming. I live a very active lifestyle, but even if one doesn't I believe Frank and the participants would be great motivators. Well done, and thanks for a great workout! read more
