I've been coming to this gym for the last several years and the last few months have been…read moreunbearable. Let's start with cleanliness. I've found multiple roaches near the stretching pads and was told they sprayed for pesticides. Not sure if that was inside but what are the lovely health benefits of rolling around in pesticides, dust bunnies and sweat! The problem might be the front desk staff trying to hit on people just trying to workout while one 60+ year old janitor is on shift busting their back (all the respect in the world for these ladies btw). The sauna is not very clean with sweaty paper towels stuffed in the corners. The bathroom drain is always backed up and a plumbing company is there almost monthly to snake them. Second issue, staff. Machines are constantly broken and take months to repair. Not all but a few workers will get a nice little lift in while clocked in, leaving weights behind and front desk unattended letting the floodgates of high schoolers in for social hour. I'm willing to guess a majority of them don't have memberships. Third, the environment. The shift from going to the gym for a workout has shifted to chasing tail and creepy games of eye tag with grown men hunting girls down, like a lion on the Serengeti. What goes from a simple hello turns into a 30 min conversation blocking the only machine that this place has. I've tried showing up at a different times to avoid all of these issues and seem to get faced by all them at once every time. I just want to end this with, I've never written a review before but just seeing LA Fitness falling apart is not a pretty sight. Closing nicer facilities around the valley that offered better amenities such as steam rooms, towels, a clean pool and spa has not been a smart move. Keep up the outstanding work fellas!!!

Hate to do this…read more... I've been going to this location for quite some time now. Always clean, always friendly. Until today... I walked into the gym, eager to spend a Friday evening bettering myself mentally and physically. As I always do, I wore my clogs/slides upon entering the gym. As I walked past the counter, my name was yelled for everyone to hear. The staff member at the front desk, maybe it was Joe or something along those lines, had gotten my attention as well as everyone else in the gym. He then rudely instructed me to change footwear in front of my workout partner. A typical evening weight session had turned into an event of public humiliation. The level of unprofessionalism that I was met with was that of which I've never experienced before. The gym is supposed to be a safe place for those wanting to make a change in their life. I wanted to share my experience so others won't have to go through the embarrassment that I have. What if I had just planned on going to use the pool? Wouldn't want to have to change shoes just to take them off at the pool. Seems like someone needs a lesson in customer relations and professionalism. P.S. There were others wearing slides in the gym at that time. I have also never had a problem wearing my slides at any EōS Fitness location.

Shad worked hard to make things right and it showed, very much appreciated. What a fantastic decision to transfer him to this facility in Gilbert to "fix" things, he definitely is in the right spot and will go far. During my dealings with Shad last week, I dealt with numerous others that definitely deserve recognition for their patience, helpfulness and just being kind over the phone. Chase was the one answering the phone and wanting to help, good listener and never just transferred me to get me off his line, he truly wanted to make sure I got to the right person. Andrew, the assistant manager is also in the right position, he truly is there to serve MountainSide's customers. Of course, I'm eating better food, less of it and not so late--all coached by Allan! The man is worth listening to and every penny. My wife, my friend, and I recommend Allan and give him SIX STARS!

What she didn't realize is that their policy is to charge a $20 fee for every month they have to charge you backup credit card. That's a $20 penalty on a membership that costs $25 a month (almost 100% penalty). And they don't notify you they are doing it. Not one email. We just discovered it after getting hit with bogus gym fees and the ridiculous penalty for six months. We talked to a manager. Not only would they not credit back any of the penalty fees, they wouldn't even credit back the month fee and penalty they charged YESTERDAY for the coming month. Despite the fact she'd not even set foot in the gym for more than six months. We even contacted corporate, which said it's an independently owned and managed gym and they couldn't do anything about it. Despite their brand being tarnished. They'll be losing two more memberships when my wife and I cancel our memberships and move to a gym with less onerous policies and better management who care about loyalty and fairness. (And hey Planet Fitness Corporate, we won't be moving to a different franchisee of Planet Fitness....we are done with ALL Planet Fitnesses because of this one franchise's poor business ethics and policies.)
