When I first considered WADBOD and came to talk with John Juadines, its owner and trainer, I was initially surprised by not only his friendliness and lack of pretense, but also the friendliness of the members who were working out on that particular evening. Each person I met introduced him or herself to me and talked briefly about what he or she loved about WADBOD. I then had the opportunity to observe part of a workout, and I was even more taken in by the fact that all of these members, though working hard, were taking the time to cheer for one another and give high-fives. At the end of the workout, the members, with John at the helm, took time to reflect on a question and share their thoughts with one another. John was having everyone exercise their brains as well as their bodies. Fast forward over a year later: Joining WADBOD was one of the best decisions I have made. My initial wonderment of the WADBOD world-- was what I saw real, all the time?-- has been replaced with a calm contentment of belonging to a place that is truly safe, welcoming, supportive, judgment-free and ego-free. It really is like family. John takes pride in every aspect of WADBOD and, without a doubt, provides the highest level of instruction, guidance, and support to members of all ages and fitness levels. He is patient, he is inspiring, he is kind, and the members of WADBOD are second to none. You will not find a better box anywhere!

    If I could give it more than 5 Stars, I would!!…read more I have never been a member of a "gym" as I always do a home video workout because of A: cost, B: time/convenience, C: the "Crossfit hype". But I wanted to try something new; something different. I figured these places always offer a free first time workouts so I did. Little did I know, I would love it and I'm almost a full month in. I was unsure it was possible in short training sessions even with a recent back/hip injury but John Juadines knows my ability. He works well within parameters that challenge me, but don't scare me into not coming back. John is amazing and focuses on each individual's strengths and weaknesses even on a group workout. WadBod is not a chain, and when you walk in, you have a sense that this place is a "family business" based on the camaraderie and support from everyone. I have never felt out of place or out of my league as everyone there is very supportive and "badass"! Try it. You'll love it. I know I do.

    I came here last week for a trial class, and unfortunately, this was not the type of class I was…read morehoping for. I left after just two stations/15 minutes. I was a bit grossed out by the "cleanliness" and the idea of lying down on the floor to stretch where people walk around in their shoes (there's so much nasty stuff from walking around outside!!). I was also under the impression/told this class was for all levels of fitness, but it seemed like it really didn't matter if we (the entire group) were literally of all different ages and levels of fitness or physique. I thought there would be more individual guidance for the movements we needed to do, but we were pretty much told (after the coach quickly explained each station), to go pick a station and get started. I wasn't sure if the positions I was standing in and sitting/squatting down in were correct or not. There's no way to see my reflection or have anyone who had experience tell me. One of the movements was to squat down while having one leg forward and across diagonally, so the knee is bent and at an angle, sort of like a curtsy position. I feel that because of that movement and not being told if I'm doing it correctly or not, I messed up my knee where I felt some sudden pain behind and around my knee area a couple days later. My vein specialist/doctor did an ultrasound on it today and saw that there's fluid in my knee that wasn't ever there before, and because of that it put pressure on another vein and caused it to "pop". He said it was probably due to straining and if the knee was twisted or at an angle. He mentioned that specifically before I ever said anything about trying out new exercises! Even despite my injury, my rating would probably be the same...the music was SO loud it was hurting my ears a bit, and I really did not want to be listening to club music. There's other music to work out to besides EDM. This just unfortunately and definitely was not what I was expecting based off of the business info and reviews I read up on.

Savanna didn't have me listed as attending, even though I was confirmed as a guest visitor and had already signed the waiver. She told me I couldn't work out because I didn't arrive 15 minutes early--yet someone walked in after me and was allowed to join in on warming up and work out immediately. If this is truly about "safety," it should apply to everyone equally. The guest care was disappointing: it took her a few minutes to even greet me, there was no warmth or welcome, and no attempt to problem-solve or accommodate. The only solution offered was "someone will call you later." Why would I come back after being treated like that? This experience reflects poor customer service, lack of compassion, and weak front-desk management--especially for new guests. If the waiver is signed and you're confirmed, the rest shouldn't feel this messy or unfair. NOTE: I checked my email and a copy of the waiver I signed was there. Not sure how or why they didn't have it. FACT IS I still wasted the gas/electric and more importantly, my time! It's too bad because I was looking forward to trying something new. I'm pretty fit but wanted to switch up my routine.

All the coaches here are, in my opinion, the best you'll find anywhere.  They are professional, approachable, patient, caring and extremely safety conscious, and The Combine community is one of the friendliest and inclusive communities I've found anywhere. At the time of writing this I am 75 years old.  I came to the Combine three years ago, 60lbs overweight, out of shape and with bad knees due to bone-on-bone arthritis in both of them. Where am I today?  I've lost those 60lbs, I'm a fit, healthy and happy athlete, loving and living life! I'm hiking regularly. I can maintain my independence because: I can lift my own water softener salt, groceries etc. I'm not afraid of falling because my balance has improved so much. I don't need a power chair, shower seat, raised toilet seat etc., which means I can eat at restaurants and visit friends, this is because the appropriate muscles have been developed and I've learned to move correctly. I can clean my own home. It's actually only taken nine months to get where I am today, because after about 18 months into my membership I had lost the excess weight and my fitness was improving;  but then I developed some significant breathing issues that basically side-lined me for almost eight months and then COVID hit!! During my breathing issues, my Combine coach kept me coming to the gym, modifying my workouts specifically for my ability - which for a while was literally one squat and rest a full minute because that was all I could do.  I don't know too many places that would take the interest and time to do that for a member and that's the only reason I am where I am today.  I know that if I had stopped going to the gym I would not have returned. Unfortunately, during this time my eating habits returned to my pre-fitness days and I was starting to gain weight again. When COVID hit I was isolated, my eating got even worse, and my fitness was deteriorating significantly. For me personally, the zoom classes just didn't work, mostly because I missed the gym and the community, and my internet connection kept freezing.  Not getting out of the house meant I was bored and scared, so I ordered all the wrong foods to be delivered and gained back 50lbs About 9 months ago I re-committed to my health, talked with my Combine coach about my goals and invested in personal training, this is by far the best move I have ever made for my mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

So I said let me give this place a shot after reading what they can offer for me on their website. Mike welcomed me, he also gave me a tour in their facility and explained what it's like working out here. He also try to see what my goal is. So I tried it, My first day I was so nervous, but everyone made me feel welcome and I felt was never alone each exercise. The coaches here are amazing, you can always ask them about anything! They stick with you through the workouts and they watch your form carefully. Push you to your limit while also being safe. Let me tell you though, IT IS NOT EASY, but it's worth it. It's been three weeks and I'm still here. I been attending everyday, now this is my new addiction. They lend you a heart monitor to track your heart rate or you can buy them(as of what I did) and they tell you whats the target color or heart rate for that day. Best part excecise program changes every month. Atmosphere here is amazing, spacious and it is always clean. Parking is very well convenient. I guess what really sold me into is I felt like I became part of the BFT Family and it is something big. We have fun during workouts and we push each other day by day. Give it a try! your body and mind will thank you. I know ill be here for a while, years maybe.

The staff and trainers here are just the right combination of friendly, knowledgeable, and sassy. They make the workouts a good time, but also work hard to help members get to where they want to go.
