The founder has invested in and continues to invest in state-of-the-art equipment...literally, there is something for EVERYONE including an indoor track and a training turf field! The addition of the recovery room featuring single-person saunas, a cold plunge, and massage chairs for those aching muscles is absolutely luxe. I realized this year that in order to reach my weight goal and improve my overall health, fitness, and strength that I needed to partner with one of their coaches. I needed someone to push me beyond my comfort zone, and Coach X, who holds a Bachelor's in Sports and Exercise Science from WTAMU, has done just that! I am super excited because I am only a week and a half in, and I am already seeing results as Coach X educates me on body mechanics and as he assists me in rebuilding and strengthening my body. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. They are more like Ohana than "staff." Love that the women's locker room has an inspirational Post-it quote vanity; so that as you see your reflection in the mirror, you are surrounded by all of these beautiful inspirational quotes that the women before you have left behind in order to lift others up. Literally nothing else compares if you're serious about fitness. I love that it's not adorned with television screens on every wall, in fact you will not find a single TV anywhere in the gym. The equipment is second to none, and feels like each piece was purchased with intentionality as opposed to soooo many other gyms that feel like they purchased a preselected lot of equipment like a value meal, and then decided to start a gym. It's more expensive than a cookie cutter corporate gym, but imho totally worth every penny. It's open 24 hours, the environment is unique, and to be able to workout with an open overhead door that you could fit an aircraft through, is an underrated, understated luxury that I never knew was missing from my life until I experienced it for myself. I love that it's locally owned and staffed by competent individuals who seem to care about the gym. I have never gotten the feeling from anyone there that it's just another job in a long line of jobs that ultimately don't matter. I cannot say that about many other gyms. Finally, it's just like a cool place to be. There is special attention paid to everything from the architectural design of the building to the lighting and sound system, to the amazing cardio room that overlooks west Amarillo. They regularly host car shows and fitness expos as well as the best bodybuilding show that Amarillo has to offer. I enthusiastically recommend Contagion Athletics to anyone that is into working out.

The gym is on the fourth floor of the Maxor Building so don't expect to see it off the street. Once inside, the staff is kind and explains the layout well. It's older but the amenities are still great. Kids care? Check! Spa room? Check! Great bathroom amenities? Check! Group fitness and free weight? Check! The best part was that I only had to pay the visitor fee for gym usage and no one tried selling me a membership. WINNING! Way to go, DAC!

Email address forwarded, and still no answer. From the Consumer on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 Manager called on April 4th, explained what happened and she stated she would make this right and call me back the next day. Update on April 11th no call back. From the Consumer on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 The manager did contact me, but said would be back to me in a few days, a week later I called back was told 2 more days as the person they needed to speak with was away on vacation. 2 weeks later still waiting on that phone call.

I've been an active member of this gym, but my experience hasn't been the best. My payment was two…read moredays late, and they refused to let me work out, no grace period or warning. They promote a point system that allows you to bring a guest, but when I did, the staff pressured my guest to sign up for a membership, which defeats the purpose of the guest policy. When I asked to cancel, I was told to email someone, even though I didn't have to email anyone to join. On top of that, the stairmasters are frequently broken, the bathrooms are often dirty, and most of the equipment is always in use, making it hard to get a full workout in. The front desk could definitely use some improvement. I once sat there for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, so I grabbed a drink and paid later when someone finally showed up. Long story short, I've canceled my membership. The only upside? The music is good.

Gina is also a very talented and exceptionally trained instructor to have. She did a flow sequence where we went from one move immediately into another. She paid attention to all my moves and helped with adjustments if I did something wrong or my body wasn't responding correctly. I highly recommend visiting this studio if you are starting out in a Pilates practice or a full on expert level looking for a solid workout. The workout today helped relieve some back pain and help with my mobility after travel. I'm looking forward to seeing Gina again the next two days I am in town. Again, highly recommend and can't say enough positive things about this place. I've been to numerous studios (mostly in SF) and can definitely tell when someone knows what they are doing.
