I have so many things to say about Dr. Lewis…read more I have been Dr. Lewis' patient for about a year. I originally went to see him about a broken toe. I was so impressed by his office, his staff, and his professional demeanor. After my X-rays were taken by his assistant, Dr. Lewis came in to review them with me. He explained my options, as well as my recovery process. Surgery was a success! Approximately 3 weeks ago, I missed a step, and broke my ankle. I was able to get in to see Dr. Lewis immediately. He made me comfortable (as the pain was excruciating), and put me on his surgery schedule immediately. I, now have pins stabilizing my ankle, and am still recovering, but I'm doing great! I broke my ankle in the midst of this crazy Covid-19 Pandemic, and was apprehensive about going into a hospital for surgery. (Here's where it gets good) My surgery had to be done under general anesthesia. Dr. Lewis cleared the entire operating room while the anesthesiologist intubated me, to keep me safe. He is the G.O.A.T of Foot/Ankle doctors in my opinion.

Dr .Gideon Lewis used surgical hardware which actually was to big for her foot. These issues were to be observed by another local Podiatric surgeon. The new surgeon who corrected Dr. Gideon's "hack job" stated when performing the surgery to correct everything, that he could actually pull the screws and brackets that were all loose and he could pull the hardware out with his fingers. My wife used a bone stimulator as requested by Dr. Gideon, it didn't help heal her foot.THE PAIN WAS SO UNBEARABLE! SHE REQUESTED AN APPOINTMENT AFTER SURGERY AND DR. LEWIS SAID THE PAIN WAS FROM SCAR TISSUE. WELL OF COURSE THERE IS GOING TO BE SCAR TISSUE SINCE EVERYTHING WAS LOOSE AND WALLOWED OUT FROM DR. GIDEONS POOR CHOICES DURING THE SURGERY. I TRULY WISHED MY WIFE WOULD HAVE CHOSEN ANOTHER DR. his bedside manner is arrogant and condescending. My physical therapist, Alison Burnham, is the clinical lead and was wonderful to work with. I've have PT for my back a few times over the last several years after being severely rear ended a few years back and again more recently, and have been to different AdventHealth Sports Medicine & Rehab locations each time. My most recent occasion at this location with Alison was by far the best - she is attentive, engaging and seems to have a great holistic understanding of ways to help and heal. I've also done therapeutic massage over this past year with the massage therapist on site, Daniela, which has also been really great. She focuses on problem ares well, notices if something seems to be causing pain, and is incredibly caring. I recommend this location, and especially these practitioners, for physical therapy and therapeutic massage to all!

I had an injury resulting in a fractured wrist and tibial plateau, both requiring surgery. Dr Sookhoo did a great job pre op, explaining options, the procedures and listening to my concerns. The surgery and follow up have been excellent. As for the staff, they were extremely helpful in assisting me with paperwork needed to get temporary wheelchair tag and required documents I needed to get reimbursement for a cruise I had to cancel. They are always pleasant, they get back to me in a timely manner and genuinely seem happy to help. I've seen several complaints of wait times. Maybe as a retired RN I can understand the unpredictable events that can cause delays in a schedule. I've had one visit with a longer wait time (almost one hour) in which I was informed they were behind. When they got to me, even though it was the very end of the day, I was given full time and attention. I highly recommend!

He showed me my current X-rays and showed me that everything is perfect going forward. I will have a one year appointment in June and Dr. Desai thinks all will be fine at that time. I also had a referral from my primary care to have X-rays completed on my left knee. They were completed and I will need to have complete knee replacement surgery. Today, I was given a cortisone and lidocaine injection that should last three months. Dr. Desai is an amazing surgeon. If you are in need of a knee replacement or hip replacement you should consult with him and his team at Jewett.
