We started our journey from Florida and drove quite a long time and decided to stop at the Santee…read moreLake KOA journey for the night. Very friendly people very welcoming and the price wasn't very Bad either. They had very large spots available for us because we are very long, over 70 feet. There was a lot of construction going on as they are improving things and they are also building new cabins. They look completely awesome. The general store was closed due to remodeling, they had another spot that offered a few trinkets and supplies that you might need on your trip. The campground was very clean, but the one thing that really bothered us was the condition of the roads. Now I understand that may be part of the construction might redo the road later on. It was a little bumpy all in all It was a very nice KOA that's why we always like to stay at KOA's because they're clean friendly and has always something to do. It had a swimming pool and a hot tub. There was a dog park, place to play basketball playground, place to fish and also places that you can go to swim. I was really pleased when we could take your dogs to the beach and let them swim as well. Many people have done that but they respected the rules and cleaned up after their dogs. Was very restful and close to a lot so if you needed a store or other shopping right off our 95. If you haven't stayed here before Give them a try. The next time we come up we'll stop here again and see how the improvements have gone. Highly recommended. And I found someone who works there Lowe's to use the term, "cool beans " Super nice people!

This isn't one of the nicer looking KOAs I've seen. I kind of wonder why KOA lets it remain on…read moretheir list. The grounds are well used and worn, with a rustic appearance. The tree cover is all tall pines with few mossy oaks. The campground is set up so all the sites sit parallel to each other in rows perpendicular to the lake so only a few have actual lake views down by the water. The buildings are old and dated and the bathhouse desperately needs to be renovated and updated. They were clean, but really old and in poor condition. They do have a nice beach area and old fishing pier which are both nice use on the lake. The internet service is horrible. It is slow and drops out regularly. Don't count on it if you need connectivity for work. Fortunately I had my Starlink mini and was in a site with a clear view of the sky. I stayed two nights in mid September and it wasn't too crowded and the campground was quiet. I didn't notice I95 as much as some other reviews suggest. The staff is great and everyone is very friendly and helpful but I am sure I would not come back. There must be something better available on. The lake.

this place was my favorite spot during my childhood. access to the lake is great . i dont like how…read moremoney hungry the new ownders are, and they should really try to cater more to familes and have more things to do. but this is a good place if you want to spend some camping time with the family and play on the water. go fishing, sometimes have a few good concerts and they have bands most summer weekends. go with a group and camp together! but dont get to rowdy at night! there is a small store that the hours are sketchy, but they have basic necessities. but there is a small grocery chain (IGA) in Eutawville not to far away. and when you are here you MUST MUST go to Sweatman's BBQ near Holly Hill on Friday night (get there early!) You will not be disappointed! the campground has several bath houses. but be sure to wear flip flops. if you have boat trouble the marine place is on the road to the campground and he is great. he is reasonably priced

The campground has plenty of spaces to accommodate close to 550 sites. Be sure to bring your own…read moreshade. If you enjoy swimming, the lake is plenty big enough to accommodate lots of people. Be aware that no lifeguard is available. As in any big campground your sites are very close together. During holidays and weekends in the summer they are going to be crowded so don't expect any privacy. Be sure to keep track of your children since this is a big campground. Even though you are camping there are several good restaurants in the local area such as Chef's Choice, Bell's and the Alpine. The Alpine delivers but you have to register with them by going there first. If you are hankering for a delicious ice cream (soft serve) then check out The Twirl in Eutawville. The campground has a small store for incidental items priced for convenience. If you need more than a bottle of ketchup, there is a IGA grocery store about 7 miles away in Eutawville.
