The mill is a restored working water-powered mill that grounds corn to make flour and is situated beside the very well known Worsborough Dam, from which water is extracted to feed the mill-race that powers the waterwheel of the mill. Worsborough Dam is by no doubt the star attraction of the entire Countryside Park. Although the water in the dam does not cover the area of land that it did many years ago it still covers quite a large area even today. The dam is fed by water from Rockley Dike and Brough Green Brook - better known by local children as The Yellow Waters, due to the water being discoloured by iron ore. Water flowing out of the dam forms the starting point of the River Dove. On a sunny day it's very nice to sit beside the dam on the grassy banks and have a picnic and watch Grey Herons fly across the dam, there's also ducks and sometimes swans. Fishing is allowed at the dam so long as you have a permit. Camping and campfires are not allowed for safety reasons.

We had to wait for 3 other tables of the same…read moresize as our own who arrived after us to be served their lunch first and then even though the restaurant had emptied out by the time we were finished we waited half an hour after asking for our bill and even then still had to get up and ask to pay for it at the bar, hence only 4 stars. Apart from that it was a nice lunch. Probably would recommend it as I think we're just unlucky that day with the service as it was a busy Easter Sunday.

Lawned beer garden, toddler area, it's an amazing hidden gem. This was the worst pub in the area and now is without a doubt the best in my opinion. Call in and have a look for yourself. Independently run free house with a great selection of beers lagers over 50 gins Feaver Tree tonics, great wine selection, and food coming in the next few weeks or so. Plus the famous Belgian Blue beer by Bradfield Brewery whilst stocks last, I'm told!

Our wedding anniversary is 29th February; we were married on this date so that I only had to buy an anniversary card and present once every 4 years. Joking aside, I decided that I would book a table in the restaurant at the Strafford arms to celebrate our wedding anniversary on March 1st this year. The on-line booking system was user friendly and a confirmation message was sent to me within moments. This was a great feature as I'm a born worrier and wanted this to be the perfect surprise. The meal was excellent as was the service which was provided by helpful, friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. I've never felt so empowered to write a review before but in this case, I felt I had to as both my wife, Julie and myself can highly recommend this venue.
