$3.81 cheaper at Stop n Shop. Similar expiration date in 2025. I can understand up to a $1 difference, but this is criminal.

The exact same product, similar expiration date in 2025, bought 15 days apart from each other. $3.81 cheaper at Stop n Shop! I can understand a difference of maybe $1, but this is criminal!

I wonder what my attorneys will think when they know I dodged the bullet from eating moldy ravioli

Today is Sunday June 25th 2023 at 104 p.m. my mom and aunt Evelyn are fascinated with this particular Deli Fruit Stand in Malvern they only went here because my uncle used to own a salon in Malvern called hair razors and everyone knew him in the community and my uncle always bragged about the quality of the goods in this establishment this is not the first incident we've had with this place and the past my mother has purchased merchandise that they liquidate at the register at below wholesale pricing and your understanding that the merchandise is half rotten that they're selling it rather than just throwing it in the garbage should be a red flag right there which is pretty scary but other times upon purchasing roast beef cheese bread or pasta they were slight imperfections which were overlooked because to be quite honest the quality seems no different than most other delis grocery stores pricing was really or relatively the same that you would purchase at any local butcher even though the pasta section or the meat section are all departmentalized and this establishment doesn't recognize fault within each section considering that they're all privately owned to that individual running it so the deli takes no fault but having worked today and looking forward to my mom's amazing sauce to open up these beautiful ravioli to find that they are moldy and old was a severe smack in my face because now I'm aggravated and I drove my mom and my aunt crazy comma so crazy that they drove back to the store right now and let's not forget we're 35 miles from this place and with gas prices the way they are and it's over 100° outside today normal people wouldn't put up with this stupidity I would just call an attorney and sue their asses but my mother and my aunt are noble and kind people. I told them not to waste their time because people that run a business this way could really care less if they lose one Patron or another my family and I have run several businesses successfully for more than five decades and I'm a stickler when it comes to Quality Control I have fired hundreds of people and have been sued many times by disgruntled employees luckily for me everything in my business is are documented using video and I pride myself in the customer is always right and I know for a fact how people like to embellish the truth especially working with most women in my staff who have no idea the videos tell you everything especially the ones who are particularly friendlier with you that speak of praying for family members and sending holiday cards are the first ones to stick the knife in your back and twist it period I have a very good heart and my mother is a Downing and loyal wife friend sister and niece cousin and go out of her way for anyone I'm disgusted because instead of sitting down enjoying some Vino and my favorite ravioli in the world I'm going to have to throw a steak on the barbecue and make a veal and meatball sandwich for lunch tomorrow with leftovers if you find this review amusing I don't know whether I should be proud of it or not I personally would not want to read a review on any of my businesses such as I'm writing . I will save this to the management get your s*** together and put people that you trust running your business because you won't have one very soon if you continue running it into the ground as you have been and one more thing I noticed that this is in a Jewish community this business and most Jewish people dine out and aren't too familiar with cooking and quality but you can bet your butt that they have staff members working for them in their household who do know the difference between fresh and rotten and people that you would normally depend on I don't doubt that you'll do the right thing with my mother and my aunt when they return the ravioli but I hope this is a lesson that you learn to instill some form of pride and the people that you employ that they would be honest enough to tell you if something were under the quality anyone in their right mind would consider putting on the table with their loved ones period

Produce!

Alright, I think I've found my new favorite place. I moved to RVC from Manhattan with my family during the summer of covid. We love to cook and always had access to a wide variety of quality seafood and produce. But I was not able to find the equivalent at the grocery stores near me, especially in the meat and seafood departments. It was kinda sad. Today I reached out to an online group and asked where the locals go, and this was one recommendation that stood out. So I hopped over to Cross Island Fruit and was blown away by the produce selection, quality and prices. I went primarily for seafood (jumbo dry scallops) and ended up getting all my produce as well! The fish department was perfect. Fresh, high quality and great selection. I was served by the owner, his wife and kids, and was made to feel like family. Got what I wanted and paid. No problem. The store checkout, contrary to reviews, is great. Staff was super nice. Totally my new place for my main ingredients. Leaving the big grocery store for all the packaged snack brand stuff from now on.

Labeled as fresh but they're so dead...

The produce is fresh, but parking here can be stressful. There are fruits, vegetables, a fish section, meat section, bakery, and lottery area. The vegetables here are inconsistently fresh. I came here to buy food for a barbecue an ended up having to drive all the way to Best Market to finish my food shopping even though there were only 10 items on the list. The lighting isn't great. There are many giant bottles to make your own wine near the cash register area. The one really nice thing about this place is that there are a lot of plants outside in the spring time and I do see a lot of people buying them by the cart-full. Cross Island Fruit is definitely not clean compared to other local markets. If you're going to call yourself Cross Island Fruit, shouldn't there be an emphasis on REALLY amazing fresh fruit? Not only is there not a huge variety of fruits, but they aren't always fresh. Compared to Keyfood, Best Market, and Stop and Shop nearby, this isn't my go-to place for fruits. Even got very common household items like cereal, spices, yogurt, frozen sausages are all pricey. The service manner here can really improve. Patrons are not made to feel welcome here. The shopping carts outside are all over the place, blocking the entrance/exit area. The aisle to get out from the cashier area to the parking lot of really narrow. This place, mostly the parking makes me really anxious. +During Hurricane Sandy, when a lot of people moved out from Long Island or lived on generators, Cross Island Fruit remained open. So for that reason, I have to keep giving it business. *This place is CRAZY busy on Saturday mornings.

Can you believe they wouldn't give a $7 refund for this meat -- even though I even brought back the receipt, only am hour after purchase??!

Today I went in and perhaps it was the fact that it seemed to be all younger workers, I'm not sure. But I had the same guy ring me up today and the other day. Today he wasn't very friendly, and even walked away after handing me my receipt, leaving me to bag my items. As far as the food, the salmon stuffed with crab meat was so good! I had to get the salmon with lobster meat this time because I'm sure that's just as good!

Best part was finding the premium meats. A5 Wagyu, pichana steaks, sweetbreads, elk and bison meat just to name a few things. They also sell marinades, condiments, frozen fruit and vegetables. Beverages and salad toppings too. It's literally your local grocery store but better! This is the spot to grab proteins you need ahead of time for that BBQ you're planning or that family feast you will host. The variety is really the draw here. I saw lobster tails, scallops by the pound and coolest part, pre-made frozen goods for those that just want to thaw and reheat. That is great for when you didn't plan your meals ahead. I highly recommend this market for finding the unique, the premium, or for your everyday groceries. The model is simple: flash frozen, freshly sealed, and shipped or in this case, delivered to your local store. They own farms themselves, have huge bunkers and they work with the locals to source the goods.

First site driving up to this location, I saw the well crafted and color coded logo and I took notice of the words "Market Place" in the brand name. After walking in I was mesmerized by the site of what was in the entrance. Like a kid in a candy shop I began to stammer out of excitement. I stood in front of the pastry and cakes area and the person behind the bar, spoke and kindly asked if I needed anything. I stated that I was just looking, he responded by saying, if you need anything, just let me know, I'll get it for you. Awesome custom service!!! He scored big . This is a MARKET PLACE, they have a plethora of stuff. Bread's of all sorts, snacks, cakes, flowers. They have a coffee bar. A hot food bar, a salad bar, smoothie bar, and a dining area to relax and enjoy. I actually walked through the entire store because I could not believe my eyes. I will give an A for their merchandiser. Although most people aren't aware of product merchandising, I am a merchandiser and I saw little room for improvement, one might say the merchandising efforts were not miniscule. The entire store was magnificent . My attention went to the smoothie bar, the lady behind the counter was more than helpful, engaging, and maintained eye contact when conversing. The name of the drink is Fresh Green (FG), the drink was obviously fresh as they have tons of fresh produce in the area. Kale, lemon, celery, and apple is noticable and gave a distinction taste. I am enthusiastic about my next visit.
