Poor customer service and outdated technology. Do not sign up for a membership with this studio…read moreunless you are 100% committed. I have been contacting them for the past month to cancel my membership but I have not gotten as single response and my credit card continues to be charged. I went in to the studio in early April to cancel my membership and the receptionist said she could not help me and told me to call or email. I called with no answer. I emailed on April 30th and got no response. I called again to follow up and had to leave a message. No response. Now today my credit card was charge again for a studio that I have not be able to visit and take classes since Jan.

It was…read morekind of confusing to find the door (it's sort of my the to-go line for the restaurant outside btw) but I saw someone walking with a yoga mat and figured following her would be a good plan. It was. You go up a flight of stairs and it's the first door that you come to. Go in and there is a little waiting room area, where you sign up for the class. The woman who led our class (I think her name was Jessa) checked us in, and asked if we had any injuries, etc which I appreciated. I didn't bring a yoga mat so I borrowed one (which had a very nice smell... Which is sort of random, i know, but it was nice). Then we went into the studio, and it was so pretty! There were new hardwood floors, lots of windows, and a cool yoga photo on the front wall. It felt very welcoming. Jessa was a great teacher, very patient and helped me make small corrections. I went to the gentle flow one so it was pretty calm, but was told that there was another class after that was much harder. The one I was in had a wide range of people, which was nice. Jessa made it seem kind of familial, like in the beginning she said it was their 6th birthday on Saturday and they were going to have free classes and do a champagne toast after, and even if you didn't want to come to a class you could still come for the toast. Cool place. I'd definitely recommend trying it out for a class, whether you've never done yoga before or are just looking for a new place. It's free the first time, so either you find that you like it and come back, or you don't, but at least you tried something new. Either way, seems like a win to me :)

While away my emergency contact (EC) was contacted by the manager no less and considered a sales lead. The manager had taken her name off my profile and called her to come in under my recommendation for free trial work outs. My EC because my family is three hours north of Topeka happens to be my 68 yr old landlady who could contact my family if something happened. She's retired and one gin martini away from a nap about 8 hours of the day everyday. When I confronted the manager about the incident and told her how tacky it was I heard a thud as another employee got thrown under the bus, as she passed blame. Anyone play ball? (STRIKE ONE!! - lie) Needless to say I called my landlord who saves everything including the olive cocktail spears from those martini's and asked her to play the Genesis message to which I heard the managers voice. Then I called the manager who said oh I was just getting ready to call you back. (STEEEERIKE TWO!!-lie) I told her it was in fact her who called. She told me my EC must have gotten into her lead list by mistake. (STEEEERIKE THREE!! - lie and YOU'RE OUT!!) She did assure me though she would talk to the staff about this, so I was of course somewhat relieved. Because I wasn't a member that long, when I received a survey I felt it only fair to mark everything as neutral with the exception of the sales call to my EC so that was a four on staff. On the same call which was actually the purpose with the Genesis manager she tried to give me a guilt trip because I rated most of the survey questions as a 5 based on the 1-10 scale. I told her I hadn't been a member that long and it wouldn't be fair to give them all 10's when my attendance at McDonalds is higher than it is at Genesis currently. (You gonna finish those fries?) I find the facility to be nice, however there was no explanation on how to use any of the machines so I have to watch others and with all the mirrors I look like an intrusive overweight middle aged creeper begging for pepper spray in the parking lot. The staff seems stressed and I get the feeling it's because it's a high pressure sales environment. One day I went in and this poor kid at the front desk asked me if I knew of anyone else that I could bring in to work out because he needed to get more members in. I said no and don't call my emergency contact the manager already did, and it is 2 p.m. she's probably wasted by now. Things might improve if I ever get back in to work out, I tore my MCL stepping off the curb at KFC so once I recover I'll see how things go. It might be better for you this has just been my experience.

Unfortunately the young lady running the event did not have pickleball experience. Placing a number 1 or 2 behind each score sheet would let players know who would serve first not playing rock, paper scissors. I felt bad for guys who travelled the first day to play two games and be sent home. The second day was run much smoother under different rules. Everyone played more games. All in all still a fun place to play. Genesis you need to have chairs in your front lobby that don't look like you got them from a second hand store. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms kept clean.
