Crooked tree is one of the worst golf courses ever made in the world! the range for one is uneven and never taken care of and the course is no better! This is the type of course to play if you're looking for your round to be very forgiving. Wide fairways, and easy greens. It was fun to play, but not much of a challenge. I'm no pro, but I tend to shoot in the high 70s to low 80s. The course appeared that it could use some TLC, but overall was pretty good. read more

I was in the area for a golfing trip. We played six rounds in eight days. The Crooked tree was day three for us. Crooked Tree was a decent course. It felt like a local muni. Nothing really stood out to make me feel this course was special. With that said, it's not a bad course. It was still fun, and we enjoyed ourselves. I would have given a four, however the pro shop was pretty rude. read more

Among the better courses my brother and I have played in Tucson. The course is pretty straight forward; a fairly traditional layout with well maintained, wide fairways and small greens. The day we played the pace of play was on the slower side but not too bad. read more

Very professional staff, course in good shape good price, compared to San Diego courses.

Decent enough course. Plays easy and doesn't have anything crazy. The par 3s are interesting as two are over water and one is long at about 200 from the whites. Loses points because every time I play here, winter or summer, I end up teeing off at least 20 minutes late. Pace of play is ok but can be a little slow. A tad overpriced for the area. read more

Although slightly pricey for what it is during winter, Crooked Tree has a great practice facility and the staff is always nice and helpful. The range card offerings makes practice really economical. A medium bucket saves ~30% and brings the price from 8 dollars to 5.50 per bucket. The staff in the pro shop are efficient and helpful. Have also seen the golf pro, David Mcdaniel, a few times and he's a great pro to work with. Remembering that this is a municipal course and not the Gallery, the course is nicely kept and a fun spot to play a round. read more

I have been here twice now and I have enjoyed it both times. I am new to golf so I don't know a lot about the course, that being said the sand traps are like gravel. I wouldn't want to hit out of them. The area around the greens are maintained. There are definitely some ugly spots but overall it's nice! The main reason I like is because their summer prices are reasonable. My friend and I found a coupon so we pay $35 for the both of us! I am not sure how experienced golfers feel about this place but I like it! read more

This is a review of Chris Robins' golf lessons, available at Arthur Pack/Crooked Tree Golf Course, via Groupon or direct. Chris is a great instructor. First, he was very flexible in scheduling a lesson, and was willing to work in an early morning time when my friend and I could both get lesson. He's also great at giving advice without being preachy and really knows how to break down the mechanics of your swing and give tips you can actually practice to improve your game. One of his other cool tools is an iPad app, where can can take a video of your swing and play it back in slow motion, and compare it with the swing patterns of pro golfers. It makes it much easier to visualize where you are now, and where you want your swing to be. I'm a very infrequent golfer and wasn't sure if a lesson would be worthwhile or not, but now I've got some good things to work on, and I'll be back for another lesson. read more

Great track. Guys in the pro shop were great getting out a single. Course was in great shape even though I was a little rusty. Luckily I was put with a twosome that had played here, they tried to keep me out of trouble. I would definitely recommend playing here. read more

Love the course but why let an 18 year old run the starting positions? We sat for an hour on a Sunday and watched a very crowded course as he sent out numerous twosomes and no one on deck until the group was hitting their second shot. When we asked why so many twosomes his reply was "because they're playing as twosomes". Ridiculous. Courses here are suffering financially because of things like this. Hire staff with brains and balls and watch your revenue go up. Golf is about learning as you go. If you're afraid or intimidated to play with two strangers play a par 3 course. Play Quarry Pines- very well run and monitored and you won't waste 1/2 your day sitting around waiting on other groups to play. read more

Arthur Pack is as good as it gets when it comes to public golf courses. The greens are a little crappy but other than that the course is OK. I am not a good golfer but I think the Arthur Pack Course is a great place to gain practice. I think the practice range is a little too close to one of the holes in the course. If you are a horrible golfer like myself then you can have serious problems when it comes to that hole. There are also only two or three holes with water in them. The scenery is beautiful and wildlife is all around you while you play. I suggest taking the golf cart rather than walking the course because it has a high volume of players. read more

Public golf in Oro Valley is good at Crooked Tree. I appreciated the slower greens and no forced carries from the forward tees. The staff was excellent, very generous and friendly. Gave us a free logo ball when they found out we were busted on a speed trap on Thornydale on the way there. Look out for that in the school zone, then have fun! read more

This review is in no way a rip on their actual golf course, the range, or the staff on hand. This is purely a slap against not only Crooked Tree, but every other golf course in the greater Tucson area that refuses to sell their non used times for a decent rate.... There are no shortage of places to play here...that is for sure...as an 18 handicap open courses like Crooked Tree are always more agreeable to my game. However, I do not understand the price gouging...golf itself is having a tough time...it is again becoming a rich white man's game. Push away potential players...and you cannot exist. I use websites to get good deals...why not right? I called Crooked Tree to see if they would match online rates of other courses....CT wanted 22 bucks...Vistoso (which also comes with range balls, and CT does not) was asking 10 through golfnow.com, my question was simple....would you match rates? I got a clear "no" from the kid answering the phone...it is no fault of his....I get that. Don't you think they should take anything? I was not undercutting them....just asking for the same rate as a course that is actually better...is charging. Golf is not a service...nor is it a product that can be measured and inventoried. It is a person or two on a cart hitting a golf ball....that rate of usage for a cart must be close to the same on every course...so why the big difference in price? No one is on your course playing late in the afternoon...why not take another 10 bucks from me and my son? I cannot afford the 22 for each of us...listen up golf courses...you want to get every person you can out there....take my money...please....but be reasonable....not rigid. read more

Went out on a Wednesday and got on as scheduled. Greens as good as resort courses that charge twice as much. Course in great shape, cart girl came by 4 times and was friendly and pace of play was perfect. Recommend highly read more
