A few months ago this would have deserved a one-star review, as the place was deleriously shabby, full of grumpy unhelpful staff and always had a queue that snaked uncomfortably round the badly placed stands of ancient and unfunny greetings cards. In the past year though, it has been taken over by a new group of people who are charming and have done the place up (inasmuch as regional post offices are ever done up) so that it actually has some interesting things for sale (random things, though. But that makes it kind of more fun while yo're waiting to buy stamps). You can buy useful things such as Tupperware boxes and bike chains and scented candles. It stil has the unfunny cards and some of the merchandise looks like it was exported directly from the 1970s, but hey. It's an improvement. read more
