We retrieved our name tags and placed them nicely on the table of our choice. This was for the wait staff to identify what entree to place where. I found this method efficient. We preselected our entree of choice, so that ensured the flow of serving went smoothly. I've been to other restaurants/banquet spaces where they take your order on the spot. I prefer the preselection and table card method better. Food: They had appetizers that did not disappoint. From the delicious crab dip to the selection of cheese and meats. Choice of Steak or Chicken & Shrimp Mashed potatoes Carrots and Green Beans I chose the Chicken & Shrimp since I typically choose steak. The Chicken was tasty and the shrimp was yummy. A light sauce was drizzled on top of both chicken and shrimp. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. It had a nice toasted top yet every bite melted in your mouth. The veggies were cooked perfectly; not too soft or crunchy. They eventually opened up the ice cream sundae bar which you customized your ice cream sundae. Water was topped off throughout the night. No one had a dirty dish sit at their table more than a minute. Coffee was served shortly after dinner. The staff was amazing. There was a bar with variety of adult drinks. Cash or tab was available. Overall, I recommend this spot. I'd definitely go back.

There are some great people associated with this club but there is still a small contingent that just don't get it. I stopped by to visit some friends who were there to play in a senior A team match. I watched as they were ridiculed for requesting separate golf carts for social distancing. Not only was their request denied but one gentleman proclaimed that Covid was a "hoax". Really? Without touching on the ignorance of the comment, It's just another example of why this club has had a history of financial trouble and bad operational decisions. Every club, private or public relies on outside events to supplement their income. Treating guest of the club this way is not a good business practice regardless of ones opinion of Covid. One can be sure that these four guests will share their experience with others and it won't reflect well on The Cannon Club. And, that is unfortunate because I would love to see this club leave the past behind and succeed.

They provided wine and beer along with several free hors d'oeuvre. The appetizers were tasty. Everybody spoke to me. It seemed friendly. They had door prizes to raffle off. I won a nice basket. Was disappointed that the range limited our tournament to mats (yuck!) for warming up. Also, the back nine was great, but was woefully disappointed by the front. Bit of an old school tree lines course with lots of holes very close together. Not necessarily a bad thing, just didn't suit my eye. Staff was incredibly accommodating and facilities were great.

The course is hilly, the greens are smooth, and the rough can be thick. You definitely have to hit the ball straight because every hole is tight and tree-lined. The greens are sloped usually pretty severely so make sure you stay below the hole! Lots of variations too so you can't get bored. It has a great collection of par 4s. Only shortcomings are: 1) The driving range "ends" at 190 yards. 2) The chipping green is very far away from everything else. 3) The course is short and a par 70. That being said if you have a chance to play here do so! Definitely a small gem not too far away from the city. I would love to be able to join, too bad I can't afford it.

Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.

My guest had to use their credit cards, which included another service fee!! Some didn't bring their cards because they had a set amount that they would pay for drinks. They had to ask other guests to buy their drinks. Some just drank the soda and tea. DO NOT USE if you want to have a happy, fun-filled, event whereas you get the food you ordered and the service you deserve.

They are doing major repairs & work on Holes#1&9, so they are much shorter. The course is in great shape, beautiful fairways and fast challenging greens. Everyone is very kind and welcoming.
