Welcome to the UK's number one adult shop…read more Taboo sells products linked to one of the nation's favourite pastimes that is also probably the most, erm, taboo. SEX! There, I said it! Oh my God, oh my God!! They've got vibrators, "adult" DVDs, sex aids and fetish gear. Taboo is not some seedy back street affair: far from it. It brings an element of fun and dare I say it, class into the sex lives of Brighton folk and those further a field. Taboo banishes away the notion that you have to be some pervy old man in a mac to visit a sex shop - you can be gay, straight, male, female, or all of the above. There are many outfits to spice up your lovin' life, as well as a host of erotic toys and of course, the world-renowned "Rabbit". If people want to enjoy sex and take it to another level they shouldn't be ashamed. Taboo is a place where you can indulge but without feeling smutty. Go check it out for yourself. Sexy time - it's nice!!

The Staff were all very sweet and helpful. My friend and I arrived yesterday to try on some…read morebikinis. The staff were very cheery and accommodating to any wish we had, from grabbing new sizes of bikinis, finding us towels and hats that match out swimsuits, rearranging things so we can pay and try the clothes on quickly. The only thing that could have done with a touch up is the outdated and tired-looking changing rooms. The lighting did not help us with wanting to purchase many of the bikinis as it was very unflattering. It doesn't make much sense for a sex/underwear shop to have poor changing rooms or lighting. One more thing I'd like to mention is the fact that the air con had been broken a few days. The poor staff were suffering in 25+ degree heat whilst running around like headless chickens for us. Please pleaaassse get these fixed to help your staff and customers!!! Thanks to the amazing, epic, cheery staff for everything they did for us! I wish I had their names so I could mention them!

When Ann Summers first opened many moons ago there was a lot of heated debate about wether their…read moreeye catching window displays were too risque. Now, there seems to be an Ann Summers on most high streets across the country and they're widely accepted as the place for women to go for sexy underwear. Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead in one of their babydolls but a lot of ladies can't seem to get enough of them - hence the 3 stars. They also sell lace and silk corsets, thongs, matching bra and nickers and for those wanting to take things a step further, lubricants, lotions, vibrators, dildos and their best selling, rampant rabbits. Personally, if I wanted to buy something special for the boudoir I'd rather go to Agent Provocateur but for those on a budget, Ann Summers is probably a good starting point.

In the back room where all the sex toys and DVD's are, they have possibly the most enormous lump of latex in the world, I refer to it as 'the mountain I am not sure anyone could clime'. The staff are really helpful and lovely, which is great because such a massive selection of lubes can be daunting and confusing. If you are after something very particular, you will probably have luck here, if you can work out how to get it on. I like marveling at rubber clothing if just to work out the mechanics of it. Fun.

I've been here a couple of times now, firstly to buy a sexy zippo for my friends 21st, and secondly to get an electric grinder (they do exist) as a favour to a friend. On the whole, stff is pretty reasonably priced, but I can imagine people spending more than they intend, what with the bob Marley smoking papers on the counter. I've had one friend say that their exotic purchases were a waste of money, and another say they took along time to kick in, but were very powerful. Neither of them said they'd do it again, but neither wish they hadn't as they had fun anyway. I like the guy that works here, who's always been helpful and friendly, and I'd have to agree with the others in saying that if you want a specialist tobacconist, this should be your greatest consideration.
