We decided to give it a try and we rushed to get there around 7:30PM thinking it was going to close around 8PM seeing everything closes at or a little after 8PM in Rome. Turns out, we were the first patrons when we arrived and were the only ones there for the next 30 min. LOL I believe the hours displayed on their window is 19:30-23:30. We were greeted warmly by a waiter who did not speak English, so an English-speaking waitress tended to us as well. The menu had English descriptions below the Italian, but she still helped us with our selections. Not only do they have seafood, but also pasta and pizza. A lot of the menu items had fish and/or shellfish in the dish, but my husband is allergic to anything shellfish. She thought about alternatives and happily suggested a dish off the menu linguini with swordfish (and mentioned whatever seasonings). How sweet! Then for me, she recommended a customer favorite, calamari and fried shrimp. We also ordered caprese and bread for appetizer (bread is not free in some restaurants in Italy like it is in U.S.). Our food was delicious! Bear in mind, my fried shrimp was fried with skin, head, tail, and legs on unlike at US restaurants, so I did a bit of work peeling it. Not sure how the Italians do it (pull off the head and eat everything else like Filipinos do? hehe), but i tried to be discrete peeling my shrimp. LOL It was so delicious - the serving could've been for two, but I ate the whole thing. My husband loved his linguini with swordfish, but I was on the fence about it. I tried it and it tasted too fishy. If seafood tastes too fishy, doesn't it mean it's not fresh? Anyway, we enjoyed this restaurant. The parties of the reserved table came in 30 min after we arrived (pretty much most of the tables were reserved), no doubt proving the restaurant as one of the local faves. If you're a tourist, don't hestitate - definitely try this place out even if it takes you a little further outside of Rome!

The place was relatively busy in the front dining room and could be considered our first "local" dining experience in Italy. Our server knew enough English to help us order water and wine, then called in another person when it came time to order food. We ordered a fried calamari appetizer to start. I prefer the rings, but this was ALL tiny squids, so I didn't try any. My husband enjoyed as much as he could while still saving room for his pasta and fish entree. I had a mushroom pizza, which was quite good. We were happy to have a non-touristy experience in Rome! On our way out, a young man stopped us to ask about our experience both at the restaurant and in Rome. We assumed he was the son of the owners or some other relative as he was hanging out in the restaurant while we were dining. Nice to know they value the opinions of their diners!

We dined there, but it doesn't have views or any breeze, so the advantage of being outside is diminished. They have a very nice wine list and we had another great Italian white, this one from Orvietto. We shared a very tasty seafood salad. The main course fishes are ordered (and paid for) by weight. I ordered a nice size piece of grilled red snapper. I didn't want anything fancy, just a good piece of fish. Wow, was it ever! Freshness has to be the secret. It was perfectly undercooked. But that can only accomplish so much. This was simply phenomenally fresh. Memorable. Service was good, not great. And the setting was a disappointment. Hence only four stars. I wouldn't avoid this restaurant, but I'd always pick nearby La Rosetta over it.
