We tried…read more3 different cold dishes with eel (I think), 2 of the fish dishes (one with sea bass and potatoes) and a green dish with pine nuts and olive oil. The gentleman who helped us was very patient and kind. He helped us pick out a bottle of wine to share. We told him and older gentleman who set out table on the patio that it was our favorite meal in Italy! This was after all the pasta, pizzas, and a food tour in Trastevere last night! I actually decided to try it out at the suggestion of my Uber diver. He pointed to it and said it's a fish market but you can pick out your fish and they'll cook it for you on the spot. The host/waiter was friendly and welcoming at first, but he grew frustrated with our questions. There is no menu and the food is not labeled. The only thing that clearly has a price is the fish in the front counter. I believe it states 60 euro per kilo. We ordered a few things off of another counter with fish and octopus stews, but as the food started coming out we could not recognize it as what we had ordered. And the plates came coming! We questioned all the family size platters they kept bringing out. The waiter said "don't worry, trust me." After the third platter I asked him not to bring any more food and he said ok. Moments later he came back to say that our fish was on the grill! At no point did we order a whole fish! In the end our check totaled more than 250 Euro. It was the most expensive meal we've had on our whole vacation. Tourists beware of this joint. It looks like it has already happened to someone else. I have to admit that the actual food was very tasty and the place looked clean.

Super fair pricing too; €2.70 for a cappuccino and pastry/cornetto, and €2.90 for a cappuccino and maritozzo. Warning: They don't have the maritozzo every day and when they do have them, they sell out quickly!!! *I put souvenirs in quotes since it's not an actual souvenir shop, it is a smaller, upscale market and bar. But if you want quality items that can be transported back to your home, this is the spot!
