Despite being eco-friendly with biodegradable container and cutlery, the paper container was lined with plastic. Necessary because it was swimming in water at the bottom. Someone washed the lettuce but made no attempt to drain it before putting it in the bowl. As a result it was a soggy, tasteless mess about halfway down. Would stick to the sandwiches which have been very good.

We had to wait 20 minutes for a slightly cramped communal table, and it was all worth it. My…read morePhilly cheesesteak inspired sandwich was truly excellent, with warm, juicy flavorful beef and rich cheese curds, nicely balanced by green bell peppers and onions and bound together by a mild garlic aioli on perfect sandwich bread. Also got a slightly spicy and crisp coleslaw for a cool contrast and a minor dose of vitamins. My tablemates were also really pleased with their orders (a vaguely East Asian glazed chicken with pickled Banh Mi-style veggies and a cold roast beef with arugula--must try those next). Wow. Another reason to visit Cambridge.
Nice, high quality sandwiches. I actually went here two…read moredays in a row while staying in Cambridge. The first day I ordered two sandwiches, the Porchetta and the Jerk Chicken. The Porchetta sandwich has nice roasted pork and a crispy strip of pork skin to top it off. The description says it has a salsa verde sauce. To me, it was more like a pesto-style sauce. The pork was all meat and didn't have any globs of fat that you sometimes find in American pulled pork barbecue. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich was the weekly special. It consisted of several pieces of skin-on mostly dark meat chicken, house made slaw and I think a little mayo. I took off the chicken skin. It wasn't crispy and I don't care for much chicken skin. Even doing that, it had good flavor. A nice blend of spices and a little spiciness. I didn't eat it right away but it was still good. Like I said, I ordered this sandwich the next day. This time I ate it soon after ordering. The roll was still warm and slightly crunchy. I liked even more when eating it "fresh." I removed the skin on this one too. I used the take out window on the side and they were pretty quick, even though there were about four or five people in front of me. I'll definitely go back when in town and craving a sandwich.

I've come back to visit London several times since then (most recently in September) and its amazing how all the shops have changed on this block but this sandwich shop still remains! I am sooo glad it's still here! Seriously the best sandwiches, hot dishes such as Samosas- still cheap and fast service! Love that the locals come here everyday and know they can get the best sandwich or hot food from here! I'm obsessed with their simple bacon and egg sandwich (all comes on a baguette) I get it with no sauce of any kind. My second choice- chicken with corn. Simple yet so tasty. No need a million toppings-

I came here 9 years ago when I was a student and vowed to come back to try more tasty treats. I did just that and brought my husband this time! The flavor was on point and had a good kick of spice. If you want to save money and are in the area-maybe to go visit the V&A or another museum, come grab a quick meal to go here first and then have a picnic!
Chicken and corn sandwich. Just perfect.
