My son wasn't down with the vibe from the moment we got in. He saw the slanty bowls, says "I don't…read moremean to be negative, but I hate it!" We ordered immediately when our waters came. The seared tuna was over seasoned. I did enjoy the salad. But after waiting for over an hour, I asked if I could get the shrimp and grits, as we had somewhere we needed to be. About that time, someone came out of the kitchen, tried to give me a cheeseburger. I let him know it wasn't for me. "It's for the band! This is where the band is supposed to sit." I had chosen that chair as it was the only one near the windows that didn't have sun directly in our eyes. I told him. There was no sign. None of the servers or hosts had said. "I wasn't notified." But my son and I went ahead and got up and went to stand by the bar to wait for our entree. I felt it had great potential, but it missed the mark for us.

Both have delicious food: The Bays has classics like burgers, and fun appetizers. The Cellar has a sophisticated of steaks and such. I cannot make my mind up which I like better! I like that I can choose between two restaurants! My favorite though, is the staff. I'm usually uncomfortable in public if it's noisy. The staff is so sweet and kind, I forget all about my challenges and relax! Folks! You've gotta go & go often!

Ok, with a name like Redneck Gourmet, I had to stop in…read more It was a little early for lunch, so it wasn't very busy yet--and honestly, I wasn't even that hungry. But I ended up ordering the fried chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. It came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. And it was big--like really big. I ate about half and that was more than enough. The honey mustard is homemade and so flavorful... definitely the standout. You order at the counter and there's plenty of seating inside, plus a few tables outside along the sidewalk. It's right across from the courthouse, which makes for a really nice setting. You can also see straight into the kitchen behind the counter, which I always like. It's not a fancy place at all--in a good way. Most of the people coming in looked like they were just on their lunch break, and it had that easy, local feel. The woman behind the counter was really friendly and helped me pick between a few options. By the time I left, the place was starting to get packed, so clearly it's a popular spot. The sandwiches and burgers I saw coming out looked really solid too, so if I'm ever back in the area, I'd want to try one of those.

First time visiting historic downtown Newnan…read more Walking by the outside of the restaurant was a little hard to tell what Redneck Gourmet was all about. Walked into her spacious casual dining atmosphere. The menu board was a nice big modern graphics driven and easy read. The menu is focused on American cuisine with sandwiches hamburger special hotdog hoagies and a good variety of salad. Chili was excellent. Would recommend it to those and enjoy chili chili. Both salad were more than we could finish, (I was here with my spouse). Prices were very reasonable for the volume quality. All of staff were approachable and friendly. Placed your order, get a table number, and the server brings out your food. Kind of reminds me of Culver. Didn't have room to try the homemade poundcake or the fresh bake cookies. But they look very yummy. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the mood for casual American dining.

I love Red Lobster, but this visit wasn't the best for me or at this location…read more Cynthia was our waitress, and she was very friendly and attentive. First we started out with drinks and appetizers. My husband ordered water with lemon and a beer. The kind he drinks, they didn't have any at the time. I had a virgin pina colada and a ginger ale. The cheese sticks were fresh, warm and delicious. My husband also ordered lobster bisque for an appetizer. It was delicious as well. Next, my husband and I ordered our entree. We both had Shrimp your way. I had cooked 2 ways for the shrimp. I had the Waltz shrimp, and crispy dragon shrimp. With a baked potato. My husband had the shrimp your way, cooked 3 ways. He had shrimp scampi, crispy dragon shrimp and shrimp linguini. He also had a baked potato with bacon on it. The food looked so yummy, I was ready to eat. But, as soon as I removed the tail, there was a trace of the poop in it. I wiped it with a napkin, and it was on the tail and on the shrimp. That was it, I lost my appetite instantly. I'm still celebrating my birthday from Friday 2/27, so I wanted to dine at this location since I really enjoyed it, in the past. But no, I'm ok. I was just too outdone. Even though the manager who was very attentive and friendly, came and discussed the issue with me. I wasn't pleased, because now I don't want to eat any shrimp from Red Lobster, again. :-( All of my husband's shrimp, was clean. He didn't have any fried shrimp. This is a lesson for me, stick with fish or lobster. :-) Not sure if I'll be back, but if so, definitely won't be eating any fried shrimp. :-)

Traveling...again...surprise surprise right???…read more While driving from Columbus GA to the airport, this Applebees was right off the highway and close enough to not have to worry about leaving so soon to catch my flight. I sat at the bar, per usual, but we all know this already... Michelle J. was my bartender... my goodness talk about SWEET! And she's beautiful! She was helpful, attentive and very kind! I cannot speak the servers or anything else about this establishment. I ordered soup and an appetizer. Food is always good at Applebees. While I try to avoid chains while traveling and to try something local, today I was hungry and it was close... and ya know what, it was consistent. Thank you Michelle for your excellent service! Next time I'm passing through, I will be be back.

I want to reflect on my visit to Applebee's on Bullsboro Drive in Newnan on 4/8/26. As we walked in…read morethe place was sparsely filled. There were all white patrons we were the only blacks at that time. To start all heads turned, I said wow what is there to look at. Then there was no one at the hostess stand so we stood there for a few mintues. While we were standing there the hairs on my arms started lifting. There were three elderly white patrons sitting at the bar. Two female and one male. I could overhear the man talking and could only gather that he was referring to crime ( I am not sure of what nature but I do believe he referenced non-whites). I immediately told my daughter I think I am going to hear something I don't want to hear. And not even a minute later the white male said very loudly "they can solve this by just getting some rope, making a noose and hanging 4-5 of them"! By this time a server/hostess had come to seat us and she heard the same thing and was very apologetic. I let her know his ignorance was not her fault. I grappled with whether to stay because if he kept it up I was ready for it but I had my young grandsons and did not want them to be exposed to the foolishness. He said a few more silly things and then said "let me get out of here the police are already looking for me". As per the waitress he is a regular and says disparaging things almost everytime he is there. Now to comment on the post that "Rex S." made on 4/1/26 about not coming to this spot if you are white, there is no surpise why black servers would feel some kind of way if there are more people like that racist man who was there on 4/8. That is not to say all whites are racist but I would venture to say that they have probably experienced a lot of it there in good ol Newnan GA. Service wise, we had Tameka training Chris. Tameka did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable after all of that nonsense. She was also very patient with Chris as it was his third day training, I believe. Food wise the onion rings I ordered were amazing and everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. Needless to say there is no reason for me to ever stop in Newnan again when I leave Buckhead to go south of Atlanta. If Applebees wants to keep some good rapport with customers of all ethnicities everyone should be treated equally the same and that is like good paying customers coming to support their business and get a good meal. Keep out RACIST, OFFENSIVE people!
