From the outset of our initial contact, we could tell that this was a truly dedicated and highly professional company. Led by Andres, the entire experience was exceptional. From the quotes developed to outline what services we'd be receiving, to the work being performed, leading up to a final walk through, we were not only guided expertly, but saw the results greatly exceed our expectations. We were especially grateful for the assistance in considering colors for each room, and the recommendations on where we needed to make some repairs that were not immediately obvious to us, as we had just moved into the house. One seldom spends much time focusing on their ceilings, but when pointed out cracks and other imperfections, it underscores the extreme value in having someone experienced guiding you in this process. To say that the whole team were perfectionists is not an understatement, because the attention to detail, from the planning leading up to the job, to covering and protecting surfaces and furniture, to the execution of the work, all care was taken to produce the amazing results we now have. In addition to the painting of our entire home, X-Clusive remodeled an entertainment room, removing carpeting, installing new flooring, repairing walls and ceiling and making it a wonderful space that before had bordered on a storage room. To say that Andres and his team went above and beyond is not an understatement. We had some minor things that needed to be addressed as work was progressing (e.g. replacing a light switch with a dimmer switch) and some hauling of unwanted furniture. Without hesitation these requests were met with a smile and a can-do response. I wish that I had before pictures for you to compare the beautiful work that they did, but sadly we didn't think of that. But rest assured, the focus on the highest quality outcome, coupled with incredibly attentive customer service, makes X-Clusive Construction the only choice for us to do work in our home again!

I had gotten three price quotes from different painters, and this painter agreed to match the lowest quote that I received. We did have some communication delays during the quote process. In addition, I was not told which brand or color of paint would be used until the last minute. I just happened to have a color swatch for the brand of paint that this painter would use, so I was able to select the color that I wanted, although I did not have time to test it on my walls first. Nonetheless, the paint job of the walls, trim, and ceilings ended up looking good. My husband, in-laws, and realtor complimented the painter on the paint job. One reason why I chose this business for the painting was because it is a husband-and-wife team, with the husband doing the painting and the wife doing the cleaning. If there was a delay with the painting, it would be easier to coordinate the scheduling of the cleaning. After the painting was done, the wife cleaned the entire house. I would recommend this business for a reasonably priced and high-quality painting and cleaning job. Just make sure to get all details in the written estimate well before the job starts.

I hired Competitive Painters for a kitchen and bathroom renovation involving cabinet refacing, wood…read morestaining, and new countertops. The countertop subcontractor they used was excellent -- punctual, clean, and detail-oriented, with great craftsmanship and customer service. Unfortunately, my experience with the prime contractor, Competitive Painters, and the owner, Robert, was very disappointing. His two workers were polite and hardworking, clearly trying to do the right thing, but Robert repeatedly made excuses instead of addressing obvious issues. The time he spent explaining why something couldn't be fixed was often longer than it would've taken to just fix it. He even said his goal was to be "good enough," which summed up the entire experience -- no attention to detail, no commitment to quality, and a focus on checking the box and finishing as quickly as possible rather than delivering good work. He was also condescending whenever I raised valid concerns or asked questions. It was clear that staining is not his area of expertise -- most of his previous work seems to focus on painted cabinets -- and he was defensive when I pointed out uneven tones, color inconsistencies, or areas that were clearly missed or didn't look good. In the end, I let them finish just to have the job completed, knowing I'd need to hire someone else to repaint the newly stained cabinet doors to achieve the look I originally requested. While the countertop subcontractor and Robert's crew were great, I would not recommend Competitive Painters for cabinet refinishing, staining, or kitchen remodeling work.

About two days before our appointment, I contacted him and asked if he would be willing to put some vinyl tiles and a vanity light in the same bathroom. Charles was so accommodating and was willing to complete all three installs. He showed up on time and immediately went to work--which I totally appreciated =) After that bit of work was completed, I took him on a tour of my home and showed him all the things I need to have done--one of which was (what I thought) a minor renovation to my master bath. We scheduled for a week later to begin that project. Again, Charles was punctual and worked feverishly to complete the tasks--little did we know he would also have to remedy several plumbing and electrical wiring issues. And I am so glad he did--there were more than a few things wrong with my bathroom plumbing that the previous owner had failed to address or didn't address properly. It took a little longer for those issues to be remedied but Charles knew how to fix them. I am so pleased with the outcome of the work he did and I will be hiring him to paint a few more rooms in my house, put up drywall in my unfinished laundry room, install new lighting in the common areas of the house, install recessed lighting in the kitchen, install backsplash tiles, and ultimately to complete a small bathroom (3/4 bath). I am SO happy I contacted Charles because he is honest, fair, a hard worker, and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to working with him again =)

14 photos posted including text thread with owner. Click the link ^ to see them all…read more I originally hired him to pull cable and that work went off without a hitch. While he was doing that I mentioned we needed the house pressure washed. He stated he could do that and fix some caulk issues at the same time. We agreed on a price. I pointed out a specific issue with caulk while we were talking and asked that he fix any caulk issues he found. My expectation was that he would actually look at the caulk over the entire house. He did not. He did the work when I was not at home so when I returned I asked him about what I could easily see from the ground as unfinished work. I wanted him to come back and do it right. His response was to offer me a $50 discount, meaning I needed to go find someone else and pay them to do what he didn't. We went back and forth by text with him becoming more angry and dismissive. Attached are photos of the work he did (or didn't do). His task was to pressure wash the house and fix any caulk issues. You can see for yourself the quality of his work. All of the guttering has black lines clearly visible from the ground so someone on a 40 foot ladder at eye level would have known it was dirty. The soffit face is dirty. The siding is still dirty. Several windows still have black on the bottom. Integrity shows through when nobody is looking. My experience shows me that Mr. Jessup doesn't have or demonstrate any. His blaming a customer for unfinished work does show he takes no pride in doing a good job. Update: Entire message thread posted in photos. If you are going to do the job, do the job. If not, don't take the money. I never offered to hire someone else. Read the text. I said your telling me you would give me $50 off was the same as you telling me you were not interested in finishing the job and to go hire someone else. I clearly told you I was not looking for a discount, that I wanted the work done. Either you are going to do the job or you aren't. Stop blaming me because it isn't clean and caulked. My end of the deal was paying you $370 which I have absolutely done. Your end is the one one still not complete.
