I actually found Jennifer after searching online for photographers in San Francisco and her work immediately stood out. Her style felt fresh and unconventional -- more documentary and journalistic than traditional -- and I especially loved her use of black and white photography, which was a big reason we chose her. The day started at our hotel, where she jumped between our separate rooms to capture my wife and me getting ready. Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. The moment was absolutely incredible, and she handled everything; we didn't have to do a thing but follow her lead. That professional confidence continued at City Hall. She has a masterful familiarity with the building. She took full control of the shoot, guiding us as she told us exactly where to stand, how to pose, and where to move next so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. As a photographer myself, I really appreciated her confidence and professionalism. All we had to do was follow instructions and be present. She knows San Francisco City Hall inside and out -- the lighting, the angles, the timing, and the key locations that truly matter -- every shot felt deliberate and it showed. The technical skill here is top-notch-- the compositions were beautiful, the balance of each frame was spot-on, and her gorgeous color grading. We received around 300 images, and the quality is so consistent that I plan to print every last one of them in large format to ensure we have a permanent physical archive. When we received the final package, we were so touched -- she sent our photos on a beautiful USB drive along with printed images, some sweets, and other thoughtful details. It was the perfect finishing touch to a genuinely wonderful experience. If you're getting married at City Hall -- or anywhere in San Francisco -- Jennifer Michelson / A Girl and a Camera is exceptional. Thank you Jennifer! Laura and Junior.

They were professional, attentive, and so easy to have around on such an important day. What we absolutely loved was Jennifer's eye for the little moments. Beyond the portraits and formal shots, she captured the quiet glances, the spontaneous laughter, and all the small details that made our wedding day feel like ours. We can't recommend Jennifer highly enough!

Kevin photographed my wedding last month and was truly a great find. Most of the photographers we…read morefound on Zola were way over our budget or not quite the style we were looking for. We were fortunate that we found Kevin through our coordinator. Kevin is VERY easygoing and down to earth. He is also clearly experienced and keeps things pretty casual while shooting, which makes photos a little more bearable for people who really can't stand taking photos such as myself. I was also super annoyed/snapping at my now husband pretty much up until the ceremony (there was a lot going on, I promise I'm usually nice to him) but Kevin somehow made me look not as angry as I actually was in the photos, so that's a win! A major standout was when things immediately after the ceremony did not go as planned, and the order of events we had discussed with another vendor did not go as we expected. My husband and I were definitely not thrilled, and our coordinator was prepping for our reception so she was not there at that moment. Kevin took control of the situation to try to make things go the way we had originally hoped they would go, which involved herding people he obviously didn't know. He definitely went above and beyond there, and my guests definitely noticed. I agree with the review about Kevin being a mind reader- he has very good emotional intelligence and is somehow everywhere. My officiant was wearing a Snoopy pin which I was freaking out about because I love Snoopy, and somehow he was there at that moment and got a closeup of it. My coworkers and I all took a shot together, and out of nowhere he showed up and started taking pictures. There was also a moment my uncle "stole" a slice of pizza from my one year old nephew that my family couldn't stop talking about, and Kevin managed to capture the moments before and after the "theft". No one even realized that he had taken those photos until I sent them the pictures. There's a reason (or rather, many reasons) Kevin has all five star reviews! Book him!

We worked with Alina by sharing our preferred photo spots and some inspo photos to communicate a "vibe" we liked. Alina offered some great new ideas, too. On the wedding day, Alina managed to capture the magic of all the details -- candid shots of our friends and family, snapshots of the venue and florals, and more. We had such a blast looking at the album; it was like reliving the day! The true joy, however, was sharing our photos with our family. They shared that the pictures were show-stopping and have repeatedly asked for prints for themselves! (Lots of, "and your photographer was just incredible, truly.") They cannot believe how spectacular our photos turned out, and we have to agree. Our jaws were on the floor looking through the album! Shooting with Alina was comfortable, too. She is such a sweet soul and I only hope I have a chance to work with her again in the future! Thanks, Alina, for capturing our special day -- so glad we can return to these pictures to remember it!

He's very professional, friendly, quick to respond, and just amazing to work with overall. I had just started wedding planning when I ran into a friend who told me Augie was their photographer and shared his info. We had looked through a number of photographers, but Augie's work stood out to us through all of it--his photos truly captured the feeling of each moment, and we loved everything in his portfolio. When we reached out, he responded so quickly and answered all our questions right away. For our engagement shoot, it was my husband's first time doing a formal photoshoot. Augie came very prepared, offered great tips, and made us feel completely at ease. He was so easy to talk to and work with, and we genuinely had such a fun time with him! He was also flexible with timing and weather to make sure we could get the best lighting. We were blown away by his ability to notice something special in just a few seconds and turn it into a beautifully captured moment. For our wedding day, Augie was even more impressive. I had shared our (very full) itinerary with him ahead of time, and I was surprised to notice that he knew it by heart. When we started running behind, he gently but efficiently helped move things along. Even though it was his first time at our venue, he had an incredible eye for finding perfect spots, turning a simple fence into a magical backdrop. He worked seamlessly around the golfers at our venue, guiding us at the right times and capturing the sweetest in-between moments. He also accommodated all our specific requests, including photos with our sports car and dress details. We absolutely love our wedding photos and all the special moments he preserved. We were also so impressed with how fast he sent us our sneak peek photos--it was such a fun surprise to get highlights so quickly. Overall, I can't stress enough how grateful we are for Augie and everything he captured during our engagement shoot and wedding day. We're so happy with all the memories he helped capture that we will cherish forever, and I truly can't recommend him enough.
