I've benefitted greatly from this ministry. Scott Carter and the presence of his beautiful and strong wife, Kathy, have been healing balm for me. I'm deeply grateful for their sturdy support and love. I get to play in their intellectual and mystical storehouse that feeds me and allows me to flourish. Sometimes you find people who know how to love well and get who you are on the deepest level. It's a church without a building. There's an Ashland home office, but people contact Scott online and he meets them where he's needed. He also meets people where they are in the other sense; whatever you do or do not resonate with in religion/spirituality, Scott comes well traveled and well adapted, to be a safe and refreshing stream to drink from.... and help you grow. I think that's what's called wisdom. The communion mass in a local vineyard this May that he did was soul food. From the thoughtful and warmhearted fellow gatherers who know and love Scott, to the teaching, setting, presence, joy and laughter, filled our cups to overflowing. After, we sat together in deep and meaningful dialogue as we contemplated the view of the vineyard and our magical valley. The wine and cheese were perfect nourishment. Scott has an hour long weekly contemplative prayer group where we first connect and then do a 20 minute centering prayer. Meditators - new and seasoned - will be changed in brain, body, and heart from this contemplative practice to live with more inner stillness. I'm leaving the area but never saying goodbye. What I've received - even without words - set me on my journey with a full backpack. I carry deep gratitude for the contributions from these souls to my grown son and my life.
