I just moved from an upstairs apartment with a skinny staircase, tall railings, and a short ceiling to a house my wife and I purchased and these guys were great. While it is true that $80 an hour for two guys seems a little pricey, they were well worth it and I would have paid more. I booked them for 3 hours figuring with the amount of stuff I had it would take at least that long with me starting to load the truck with three other people before they even arrived. After they did get there I stepped out of the way, they finished loading my truck followed me to my new house and had the entire thing unloaded for a total time of just under two hours. This was the best money I have spent in a long time as moving sucks but with these guys I didn't really have to do too much. I thank you Mike and Denny for a job well done read more

We had a very small furniture move - a dining table, 6 chairs and sideboard - to be moved from Binghamton, NY to Riverdale, NY. We agreed to the outrageous moving fee since we were on a tight time frame, and paid an additional amount to have the move insured. On the day of the move, the movers attempted to detach the legs from the table, but were not able to remove all four. They supposedly 'reattached' them and loaded the table top-side-down in the truck. Fine. I had to stay in Binghamton with my mother who was ill at the time, so my husband drove back to our apartment for the load-in. Admittedly, he (my husband) should have checked the table a bit better when it arrived. It was not scratched or broken, but it was not reassembled properly by the moving team and is leaning and 'sways' with even the slightest touch. I realized this as soon as I arrived home two days later and we attempted to call the moving company. This was an expensive, hand-crafted, solid oak table and has never swayed in its life. Over the past three weeks, we have attempted to contact the movers several times for them to arrange for the table to be repaired - honestly all it needs is for the screw sites to be filled and redrilled properly. And we paid for the insurance to cover this type of repair! We have been understanding that these things can happen - hence getting insurance - but it is absolutely impossible to reach Crew4 once they have your money. They answered the phone once in these three weeks, heard our concerns and request for repair, but have not followed up with us after several more attempts to contact them. I have waited nearly a month for them to do the right thing resolve this issue, but it is to no avail. I don't enjoy leaving 1-star reviews, but I am hoping this will help others to avoid using such an unprofessional company. read more

First, Mike was not easy to get a hold of. We set up for a 3 bedroom move. He brought a pod that was to small and had to get an additional truck for a extra $300. They were supposed to be there at 730 but showed up at 845. They left numberous items in the house. I reminded them to take 2 rugs which they did not do. There was a desk that they could not take because it didn't fit out the door. They would not take it apart. They didn't bring most of my lamps and various other things. I also was charged an extra 2 hours of labor..even tho the guys didn't have a truck to put stuff in. I will say that the younger guys worked their butts off. They were very polite and respectfull. I did have alot of boxes and totes to move, but not much 8n actual furniture. I was not pleased at all. read more

Extremely unprofessional people!!! Showed up 2 guys with NO MASKS and NO TOOLS to dissemble or lift stuff !! So much attitude and complain about heavy furniture ( it was only sofa and washing machine: 2 items) like their job is to lift air and not furniture. Extremely lazy attitude, like they want to get paid for doing nothing, disorganized and they had a nerve to ask my client if he had an extra friend to help them with the sofa. I have never heard or seeing anything like this! Because they didn't have tools to dissemble and put furniture apart they actually blamed my client for having heavy furniture and left 5 min right after arrival and refused to do the job!! In addition they left pillows for the sofa outside in the whole way, didn't even bother to buzzer and put cary them back inside while showing me their short temper and unprofessional behavior. The biggest sign of avoiding them is actually inability to ever reach them! If you can't reach the business that means the are out of business !! They never answered their phone and I called multiple times to report that disrespectful unprofessional nonsense that I haven't experience for while. I highly suggest to stay away from them. We had an interstate move scheduled. The office was hard to get a hold of and wouldn't call back. My wife had to drive down to their business to talk with them. The movers from the house to storage were great. The move out of state was horrible. They arrived 12 hours late and there was only 2 people to move us. My wife and I ended up helping them for almost 3 hours. They lost 2 items and damaged 4 others. They will not respond to email or calls for reimbursement. But they cashed the 8K check immediately. The movers were great. This company is poorly run and doesn't back up what they say they will do. Would never recommend them. 0 stars. read more

This crew is exactly what I needed! My wife and I were moving into our first home, and had a handful of large items that we needed moved out of a 3rd-floor apartment. The CREW4 moving guys showed up, and got right to work for us. Within 2 hours the entire apartment was empty, way ahead of my schedule! This was a much more affordable option than some of the other local moving services, and worth every penny. Staff was efficient, friendly, and took good care of our items. A very unreliable and unprofessional bunch. They always never answer the phone or return calls. I tried to reach them for 1 week to ask a question about my booking. They never returned neither my call nor my wife's (at least 6 calls and messages). Then came the day of the scheduled move and they never showed up. When I finally got someone on the phone on the scheduled move day, he said they cancelled my booking because I had enquired whether they could do the move at a different time (but they never responded to the enquiry or confirmed that they moved the date or that they even got my message). A complete joke of a company! UPDATE --- IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY'S ANSWER: I wish they paid as much time to customers and prospective customers as they do to spinning tales online. I had a question as to possible alternate dates of moving, but they never answered the phone for a week. As they never responded, at least, I was expecting them to show up on the ONLY DATE we had mutually agreed upon at an in-person meeting. They never showed up on that day. After the fact (the date previously agreed upon), they claim that they got my voicemail, never responded, never contacted me to confirm a new time, and then went on to reschedule the move date. Question: what time did they reschedule it for? There is no answer to that question, because we never mutually agreed on any time for a so-called new date. Made a date for them to help me move my furniture from one room to another. They were to arrive Sunday at 9. They did not arrive. I called their phone number three times while waiting on Sunday but got no answer - I was told on Monday that was the office number. They did not call me first thing Monday after hearing my three messages, however, and later I was told it was an honest mistake that they had the wrong day and I did get an apology . I would suggest that they could have their phone calls forwarded on weekends so they can be reached as needed. read more

The movers themselves were courteous, thorough, and professional. My family and I thought they were fantastic! This review in no way reflects on the quality of the actual work done. What I want to write about for Yelp is the management of the job. I provided a full inventory of what I wanted to move, which was the contents of my 1000 sq ft house, within town from one house to another. The movers didn't have to box anything, and I did all the preparation to make sure everything was ready to go. I was given a quote that it would take 6 hours with 3 workers and one 24' truck. Long story short: The estimate was grossly off and ballooned to nearly TRIPLE the quote in the end. I gave my feedback to the workers that this was just unacceptable; there should have been more workers and another truck to meet the needs of the job. And, again, the movers themselves were great; they empathized and apologized and did what was in their power to help. But I never once heard back from the manager, was never offered an apology or a discount, and as long as this company misleads its customers with deceptively low-balled estimates I can't recommend them to anyone. read more

We had this company move us from a house, into storage, then into another house. The move out of storage went good (conscientious and hardworking movers) but the move into storage was quite poor. The movers quit mid-job after breaking a number of our items in my driveway. I witnessed them cursing and complaining and did what I could to keep their morale up. After they quit a new crew was dispatched and came around dusk. The move was supposed to wrap up around 2PM originally. By that time most of my stuff was brought out by myself and my brother. They still forgot a large quantity of things and it seemed incredibly rushed because it was after dark. It was evident in the unboxing of our items that our belonging were handled very carelessly. Footprints on furniture, large heavy items kinked and smashed as if they had been thrown and dropped. Many dishes were broken that were wrapped by my wife carefully. Our mattress was muddy. We gave a check for 600.00 more than agreed upon before we were able to inspect the condition of our items. It seems as if the original crew willfully broke our items. I have called now multiple times, sent emails, my wife has called. We have not received any response from this company. To make matters worse, a couple days ago I received an invoice for storage from them (we have no items in storage now). The owner's either unaware or uncaring of his customer's experience. I urge you to not hire Crew4 not because of our initial experience (everyone has bad days), but because if an issue arises you will be left in the dark and ignored as soon as your check clears. read more

DO NOT USE They were supposed to show up at 9:00 AM. They called at 9:20 to tell me there was no way they were going to make it before 10:30, if that, they had been up all night moving. Now realize I booked this well in advance and even confirmed again the Thursday before move day. It was very important they arrived on time because I had to be in Massachusetts to meet the other movers by 6pm. They were aware of all I was trying to coordinate.They called again at 10:30 to say "the car broke down " and they couldn't come. Later the owner, I'm guessing Garrett, called to say they could move me late afternoon or early evening. I reminded him of my need to be done and out of Elmira by 2pm. He had nothing to say, just made excuses for his men. It's not my fault they booked an all nighter. Very unreliable and unprofessional. read more

Let me start from the very beginning. Mike and Brandon came to give me an estimate (the last of three). Brandon was either exhausted or stoned - his eyes were bloodshot and he appeared to be "out of it". Since they advised that they had been working nonstop for days I decided to give Brandon the benefit of the doubt chalking the bloodshot eye look up to not enough sleep. Since they were to be packing some of my items (most were still in boxes in a second bedroom) and it was cheaper for me to purchase my own supplies I asked how many boxes I needed. Mike quoted me 30. So I ordered all packing supplies from Lowe's costing almost $100. They only needed half that amount costing me about $50 too much. Since they were the "professionals" I relied on their expertise which apparently was seriously lacking. While I decided to hire them "on the spot" there were a couple of red flags that surfaced and I should have paid attention to but ignored - much to my detriment later. The first was when they did not know how to complete a FL contract - apparently the business started in NY and they had only been in the State for a short period of time. It was then suggested that I sign a blank contract. The second was as they were leaving when Brandon said "Hopefully we will see you on the 7th". Not sure why these words would have ever left his mouth because the estimate had been signed by both parties and the move date scheduled. Both Brandon and Mike were to be the people to move me. On 9/7 Brandon and Mark (a brand new employee) arrived on time. However, that is where the professionalism of this company stopped. The following I blame solely on Brandon given that he was the owner's brother and Mark could not be expected to know the company's expectations when it came to moving their customers. The 17' truck was filthy - not even swept out with a mattress and box spring in the back along with a few extra large boxes - it was unclear as to whether they were empty or full but when I questioned Brandon he told me he had brought them along for them to use for my move and the bed was his. Although they were to wrap my furniture they brought only mats - had no plastic and only 1/4 roll of tape, if that. So, they were using my packing tape that was to be used for boxes to wrap the mats around my items which clearly did not work. And I did not buy enough for that. There was absolutely no sense of purpose while packing my things or moving the items onto the truck. They had no real "game plan" for expeditiously packing the boxes or loading the truck. Then it started to pour. My furniture was not wrapped properly and I walked outside to find Brandon standing in the rain with my UNWRAPPED TV. If I had not caught him at that precise moment I am sure that would have been ruined as well. Finally, approx 6 hours after they arrived and realizing they still had many things that needed to be put onto the truck I told Brandon that they needed to speed it up because I didn't want to be caught in traffic heading south on 95 and I was sure neither did they. As he walked out the door I'm almost positive I heard him call me a ***** - why- because he was dragging his a-- and I was tired of him doing so on my dime. At about 2pm the truck was almost packed when Brandon told me they would be unable to fit my patio furniture which consisted of a metal chair and small round metal table on the truck. I have moved many times throughout FL and whether I rented a Uhual or had movers move me 17' trucks were always used and always fit my furniture. It was clear that either Brandon's mattress and boxes were taking up too much room and/or the truck was not packed properly. Either way I demanded that my remaining items be put in the truck. Long story short the entire move took 12 exhausting hours - far too long. Travel time of 3 hours taken away it never should have taken them 9 hours to pack and upload my things. If a professional crew had moved me it would have been done far sooner. So after a little bit of negotiations they took a small amount off of the tab and I wrote a check and they left. To add insult to injury they put my bed together wrong and one side of it came off the rails. I had to hire someone to totally disassemble and then reassemble my bed. They chipped and scratched my bedroom furniture and my dining room table which prior to were all in good condition. Then upon unpacking a box I found that one of the movers had placed a framed photograph into an open box - not taped- not wrapped in anyway-against a frying pan and clock which caused the glass to shatter, the frame to scratch and the matte to become wet from the rain. An obvious wanton disregard for my things. So, I sent a couple of photos via text to Garrett along with an explanation of what happened. I advised of my extreme disappointment and told him that something has to be done. That was over a week ago. No response. Nothing. Therefore, I under no circumstances can recommend Crew 4. read more

Brandon and Chris did a great job with our move today! We had to change our move-in date and time a bunch of times due to extraneous factors, and Garrett was very patient with us. Also, when we got to our apartment, the unit wasn't ready, but the team did a great job improvising and moving things in stages. We have soft floors, and I don't see any scratches despite having numerous heavy items. The large furniture was handled with great care, and boxes were put in the appropriate locations. They were quick and efficient, and patient when I changed my mind about where I wanted the furniture located. Also, the price was good :) I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to others! read more

I would give them 1/2 star if I could. Things started out good. I booked a date in May & the owner came out to give me a estimate. He said that if I couldn't get everything packed, they would help. During our conversation, I said I would like to move the date to move to June. Good thing because he had never put the date on the calendar. And his phone kept going off, but he ignored it since he was talking to me. As it got closer to the moving date, I had several questions. My calls went unanswered. I even tried using the quote estimate form from here. Anything to get some answers (like confirmation of the moving date). One of the questions I had was about how they want to be paid. You'd think that might get an answer, but nope. So I hoped the were just busy & that's why my phone calls were never answered. Come the moving day, they don't show up at 9:00 as they said. OK, maybe they were getting a late start. They NEVER SHOWED up. And NOT ONE CALL. One thing that would improve their business is a receptionist. Someone who can handle all those calls. You can tell they don't have to worry about repeat business by the way the they treat the customers they have. And now it looks like I'll lose the apartment I've waited 2 years for. read more

Haul-U movers were great...... Best decision made..... Garret came right out to look over situation ...... I got a very good quote..... And set up a move date in a week....... 2 very strong guys nick and Brandon showed up and really moved. Move was from Endicott toSayre and all done in less than 5 hours. Travel time included..... What a garbage moving company. They broke our 900 dollar tv. Broke our priceless family heirloom mirror. Crushed our storage totes. Broke a nightstand. Shredded several space saver bags. Their response? Oh well. They offered 24 dollars for the tv. 24 dollars! That's not even enough for a fake dollhouse tv. The owner is a joke and doesn't care about your possessions. Many screenshots to prove that fact. We will be alerting every local social media community possible. This is not how you conduct business and we will make sure we let everyone know. This crew was responsive and available on short notice. They did not do an onsite estimate, or they would have seen that their guess of about 3 hours to move my stuff (within the same building) was really not quite going to cut it (it ended up taking 7 hours). They also arrived with insufficient packing material (again, within-building, but still not enough boxes and no bubble wrap to speak of). However, they got the job done and, despite some issues with weather, showed up on a Saturday to do it. The star is off for that (they were resourceful) and for some of my IKEA stuff not surviving the move. While I wouldn't expect my IKEA stuff to survive, say, a cross-country move (even though these two pieces had done so a few times), I was a bit disappointed they met their end with this particular near-nothing of a move. Despite these issues, I would still recommend them overall as the price was right, the people were honest, and were efficient and friendly enough. read more

I want to start this by letting you know that I am a small business owner. I am not someone who writes bad reviews for sport. I'm doing this because I feel compelled to let others know about the experience I had with this company, so that you are warned before booking them. Speaking on the phone to a representative of HireAHelper, I hired CREW4 to help clean out my barn. When the rep asked how long I wanted to reserve the crew for, I said it might take 2-3 hours, so he booked 3 hours to ensure they had the time reserved if it was needed. When the crew arrived, they were very courteous and did a great job. At 1 hour 45 minutes, they came to me and said they were almost done. I asked them to do a few more things and by 2 hours they were finished. At that point, they checked their phone and told me the cost would be for the 3 hours. I told them to call their boss because that was not my understanding. After a lot of verbal shuffling, I could see this needed to be resolved at a higher level. I paid the full amount online and told the guys to go (after tipping each of them in cash), and said I would take it up with their boss. I immediately called HireAHelper and they pointed out to me in the fine print that CREW4 had a policy that once a time frame was booked, you had to pay even if you didn't use the time. Thinking that was unfair, on May 30 I called Garret, who apparently owns CREW4. I explained what happened and he said that it was actually HireAHelper who has that policy. He agreed that he would refund me the hour his crew didn't work less the 15% that HireAHelper charges him. The check never came. Since May 30, I have called him 4 times to remind him, and have never gotten a return call. If you want to use this moving crew, the guys who work are great but be warned the business end was shady in my experience. read more

I recently moved from Windsor to Binghamton. Two guys showed up in a very old truck with very old equipment. I asked about insurance and was told that I need to speak with the owner. This company is not listed with American Moving & Storage, nor do they post their DOT numbers on their vehicles. Because I work for the State I know that these are required for all legitimate businesses. I will only use legitimate movers in the future, not ones who are trying to make a quick buck off of the consumer and hope they don't have any damages. read more
