The Atlantic Hotel & Spa - The view from the pool

This was a beautiful hotel right on the beach with a friendly staff. The view was wonderful…read morespecially from the 5th floor. The experience was. great. The hotel has two restaurants. One on the first floor. The food was great. The table service slow. The outdoor seating area was nice. It was nice to people watch. The second restaurant was by the pool. That was a good spot. It just had a nice fun atmosphere going. It was my favorite spot. The spa was nice. It had a nice jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. It was a little cold. They do massages, facials and nails. They had different types of tea selections in the relaxation area and I was glad they did. The staff was great. The service was good.

When we arrived early in the morning on a Monday from the cruise ship. Suze the receptionist was there to greet us along with Luis the bellmen. Suze explained my room wasn't ready, but she could move me to 907 I said "can I see the room?" I'm so glad I did. it was looking at the side wall and the pool/ocean. I had knee surgery and my husband wanted me to take the room, but it wasn't what I wanted and paid for so we decided to wait. Suze said " I want you to be happy with your room" I'll call you when it's ready. They called me at 2:30pm to tell me, we have room 1204 ready I said nope waiting for 1404, it's all one level and you won't see the wall beside you. It was the perfect room! Everything I wanted and hoped for and paid for! It made my Christmas extra special even if I waited all day for it!! Suze was awesome! We went to happy hour - it's Monday - Friday 4pm -6pm! Onka waited on us, she was the Bartender and server! The drinks were great the food wasn't to my liking! The BBQ sauce is a mustard flavor didn't pair well with the chicken flat bread. We didn't eat there again. My husband visited the gift shop to buy drinks! I enjoyed the poolside bar on the 5th floor Chris and Chase gave great recommendations and were very knowledgeable about the area. Your Resort fee includes Beach Chairs, towels and water, I never received the water but I did in my room. Kevin is hard working to find you a chair and free shade or sun. I was happy to finally see the beach bar was open on Christmas Day. It wasn't open Monday- Wednesday. My husband tried to buy a drink next door at Conrad's beach hut, but it's only for hotel guest. It's too bad it's limited to the hotel guest they could make some extra revenue. I want to give a big shout out to Jim in Valet he was super nice and told us about the Circuit App to go to the supermarket and Marina Village. It's a free service, like Uber, they work for tips or you don't have to tip, but it's nice service. Don't get in a golf cart they are a rip off. I would definitely stay here again! The people make the hotel inviting and your vacation memorable!

Princess Cruises - Amazing theater

Second time with Princess, and certainly not our last... 7 days on Regal Princess cruising to…read morePrincess Cay, San Juan, and St. Maarten. PCL continues to be the "Subaru of the Seas"... You get an elevated experience without the elevated cost(s) like Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Virgin, etc. What PCL lacks in on-board entertainment (i.e. water slides, roller coasters, games, and entertainment), they make up for in quality, customer service, and a luxury experience... If you're looking for a party cruise, PCL is not it. Albeit if you want peace/quiet, fine dining, and a laid back atmosphere, PCL is the way to go. Princess very much has a distinct clientele and it's geared toward the older audience... I jokingly call it the "AARP Club Cruise Line", but the guests are overall friendly, respectful, and professional (you have exactly a 99.99% chance of *not* being jumped at sea or dragged into a bar fight because the riff raff had one too many on the pool deck during a sea day). The ships have a very vintage look and are not huge, but "big enough" and offer high-end amenities. You can be as busy or as slow as you want to be and PCL has options for both. Overall for the price and quality, PCL is arguably our favorite cruise line... We've cruised extensively with Royal Caribbean, but Princess has made it very hard to go back.

We went on an 8-night Princess Regal Caribbean Cruise from April 3-11, and it is NOT something we…read morewould recommend or do again. Overall, it was understaffed, lacked basic amenities, including long lines for literally everything, and had cheap-feeling nickle-and-diming/upselling that made for a very poor and unrelaxing vacation. Read on to see bullet points breaking down our experience: Embarkation/Debarkation Absolutely no organization during embarkation. Long lines with no guidance. We heard group numbers being called, but we hadn't been handed a group number when we checked in. We finally ended up asking the person calling them...at which point, we finally got handed a group number to board. Debarkation was mildly better and more organized, with group numbers assigned and staff doing a better job of directing. Room Upgrade Bidding Process You can bid on a room upgrade on the app. The process involves using your credit card to make an offer on the room upgrade you want. The app will tell you whether your bid is "poor, good, strong, etc." You will NOT be told whether you won your bid until the day before the cruise leaves. This process felt cheap and greedy to us. We would never do it again. Room We had a balcony stateroom. Spacious enough for the two of us and clean. The staff was incredible, working around our schedule for both daily room service and turndown service. Drink Package We bought the Princess Plus Drink Package - 15-drink max a day; only two casual restaurant options (no fine dining). Long lines at bars plus limited bar openings meant we couldn't even come close to the full 15 drinks each day. Room service to deliver drinks WAS timely, but had super limited options. Our joke was "You can have the drink package...if you can get the drinks." Fitness Center HOT, with no noticeable a/c; absolutely brutal for cardio workouts. No water bottles offered or bottle-filling station; one single water fountain with hot water dispensed - really, Princess? You can't spring for a bottle-filling station. So frustrating, and workouts were miserable. Good range of equipment. Entertainment Lots of live music; some fun variety shows. Comedians were really funny. Pedro was by far the best host of the game shows and trivia events. Spa/Massage Staff was kind, but LORD, the upselling was ridiculous. Couples' massage that should have been relaxing was anything but, as it felt more like a sales pitch the entire time. Casino We enjoy gambling, but again, understaffing meant tables were on limited openings (e.g. craps, Blackjack). Servers was nowhere to be seen...we'd play for an hour or more before they took our drink orders. Pool/Lounge Areas Not nearly enough pool chairs; we rarely could find a spot to lay out. Interestingly, they had a ton tied off, but many people were stuck walking around and looking for a spot to sit, especially on sea-only days. Pool is great for kids. Service staff to take drink orders was pretty much nonexistent. Nickle-and-Diming Many of the dining locations required more money, including the steakhouse, fine dining, even the gelato. Super frustrating if you wanted a nice night out. Staff Overall Very courteous and professional. Understaffing led to long wait times. This cruise really soured cruises in general for us. We recommend a different line, like Holland (if you want to stay in the Carnival family), or Norwegian, Celebrity, or Virgin. Just do your research on what fits your vibe, but skip Princess if you can.

Ended up with 3 missing items - cretit card and ID. Post cruise services is a joke and their customer service is well below mediocre (at best). The lost and found system is ridiculous and leaves you feeling like once you're off their ship, you're SOL. Bring you in a limo, send you home in a cab kind of vibe. The crew is hit or miss. Some people enjoy their job and even if they don't, you won't know. Some people however are miserable and it shows through their lack of professionalism. There is room for improvement, however, this was my first cruise with MSC and I do not think I'll be returning anytime soon. If I just want to take a quick cruise to jump in island water, maybe, but If I want to take a serious vacation and enjoy the entire experience... I will cruise with another line that I have had multiple top tier experiences with.

Our recent experience with MSC Cruises was really disappointing due to several frustrating and…read moreunnecessary policies that made our vacation less enjoyable. 1. Wi-Fi Device Restrictions -- Unacceptable MSC does not allow you to deactivate an existing device on your Wi-Fi plan to switch it to another device (e.g., from phone to tablet). This is completely unnecessary and extremely inconvenient. On every other cruise line I've used, you can easily swap devices or log out and log in on another device -- but not here. It's ridiculous that I have to pay for a whole new connection just because I want to use my tablet instead of my phone. 2. Cabin Key Restrictions -- Unrealistic You cannot get a copy of your key card without deactivating your existing one. So if multiple people want access (e.g., parents both need a key), you're penalized by losing the first key. That's absurd and outdated. It's 2025 -- many guests manage multiple keys without turning off the first. This policy feels like an unnecessary limitation rather than a safety feature. 3. Beverage Package Rules -- Inflexible and Family-Unfriendly The beverage package rules are extremely rigid and don't work for families. If I want a drink package for myself but not for all my kids, I'm forced to buy them beverage packages too (e.g., soda packages). That's unfair and expensive. Families shouldn't be forced into package bundles they don't want just because of arbitrary rules. Bottom Line: MSC Cruises has great destinations and ships, but these rigid policies -- especially around Wi-Fi, cabin keys, and beverage packages -- feel outdated, unfair, and tone-deaf to the needs of modern travelers and families. I hope MSC updates these policies soon. Until then, I can't recommend them to anyone who values flexibility, fair pricing, and ease of use.

We arrived around 9 am after our cruise, and our assigned upgraded room (suite) was not ready. The front desk receptionist, Dominique, was most helpful and gave us 5 star service in looking for a room with a balcony that was available for us. She found one and upgraded us to an ocean front. It was truly the BEST ocean front room we have ever had in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. I would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy the view more. We had a mini-suite, versus the regular suite which would not have had the balcony. Room 1715. Big shower, comfortable sitting chair, large balcony with cushioned chairs and table, Lavazza coffee, ironing board. We were so close, we could hear the ocean waves. Pool was fine. Hot tub. By the pool were cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas, but some of the cushions were flat. A pool attendant said new cushions were on order for next year, so it would be better. A shout-out to the pool attendant who dragged over a different chair with a cushion that had some cushion left in it for me. She was genuinely nice. There was also a separate section of chairs facing a wall closer to the bathroom, so if it was crowded, you would still be able to get a chair but not with a cushion. I liked the fitted towel covers they put over the chairs. It was chilly and windy when we were there, so I asked for an extra chair cover to use as a blanket. Periodically, the attendants came by with chilled water, frozen fruit. The pool-side service was excellent. Different servers may come by asking if you need anything or to pick up your dishes, since they work as a team. The hamburger and fries was delicious ($35). Chicken tenders were pretty good. The alcohol drinks were $20. I liked the non-alcoholic mango daiquiri. ' I highly recommend making reservations at Takata, Japanese restaurant at the hotel. It got packed later and everything was absolutely delicious - one of the best dinners in Ft Lauderdale we have had in over 20 years. It is also open for breakfast. I had the avocado toast which was okay. Down the street in the shopping center is a CVS. We have stayed in a number of Ft Lauderdale hotels over the years for a cruise. The outstanding service from Dominique at the front desk to the pool attendants and servers, the Takata server all were phenomenal. The room was incredible and we appreciated the generous supply of Lavazza coffee and microwave. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Conrad, and it will be at the top of our list next time we are in Ft Lauderdale.

The yellow water coming from the faucet was especially concerning and looked very strange. After checking into our room, we waited 40 minutes for our luggage to be delivered. In the end, we had to go downstairs and get it ourselves. The pool is extremely small, overcrowded with children, and closes at 6 PM, which honestly makes no sense for a resort-style hotel -- I've never experienced that anywhere else. The valet parking is also extremely overpriced. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money they charge.
