I've cruised before, and i can honestly say my recent trip on MSC worl america was the most disappointing cruise i've ever taken. If you are thinking of booking, do yourself a favor and look at another cruise line. First of all, the premium beverage package is a scam. Imagine my disappointment when my room steward told me the drinks from my mini bar were not included. Drinks over $16? You pay the difference, thats not premium, that's misleading advertising. I had a balcony, and it did not come with any ammedities like robes, slippers, toiletries...all the above were complimentary in other cruise lines. The buffet was another let down. Fatty, unhealthy food options with barely anything balanced. If you care at all about what you eat, you'll be frustrated. But the absolute dealbreaker for me was the customer service. At the specialty Japanese restaurant, our waiter told my group of 4 that plum wine was included with the meal. Two of us had the drink packages, two did not. We told the waiter this and he assured us it came with the meal. The two without the drink package were charged. When we raised the issue, the restaurant manager, Steven, was shockingly rude. Instead of listening, he dismissed us, insisted his staff wouldn't say that, and basically accused us of lying, over a $12 charge. He made us feel humiliated and disrespected. That interaction alone was enough for us to never sail MSC again. When a cruise line's management calls its guests liera rather than fix an obvious mistake, that tells you all u need to know. MSC hides behind fine print, skimps on food quality, and shows zero respect when issues come up. I will never give them another dollar, and as someone who has over 7 cruise under her belt, I'd strongly recommend anyone considering them to look elsewhere. There are plenty of cruise lines that actually value their customers.

Recognizing these crew members for outstanding service.

MSC Musica Cruise, Embarkation on Oct 23, 2025 From Geno, Italy Room Details Musica is an older ship. It is in fairly good shape, but don't expect too much. We were on deck 12 and near the front of the ship. We had a balcony room. As we walked down the long hall towards the rear of the ship, we would always pass a section that smelled like sewer gas. We were glad our room was not in that area. With our room being one level down from one of the main areas, we were woken almost every night between 4:00 and 5:00 am to the sound of chairs and tables being dragged across the floor. We learned later on that this was the daytime crew, preparing for service. Nonetheless, it was frustrating. The temp control worked well in our room. The space was utilized efficiently, so suitcases could be unpacked and stored away, with enough closet and drawer space for all of our belongings. Dining & Cuisine Keep in mind that I am very picky about the quality of food. The breakfast buffet has mainly the same selections each day. We had the "Plus" package so we could get fresh orange juice, coffee and bottled water. The juice and fresh coffee were good. During the lunch buffet, there was always some freshly carved meat. Beef was included one of those days and it was acceptable. When the selection was pork or turkey, it was dry. The pork or poultry in the buffet was almost always dry. I was hoping for good pizza, because the ship sails out of Italy, after all. Although they are making it from scratch, it was bland and didn't satisfy me, so day one was the only time I ate it. Most of the time, the cocktails that were made were pretty good. Each night, I ate in the formal dining room. The food there was better than the buffet food, but that was to be expected. It wasn't always up to my standards, but I have high standards. Entertainment & Activities I normally don't engage in most activities on cruise ships and sometimes seek out quiet areas of the ship to relax and have dialog with the people I am cruising with. On this ship, it was hard to find quiet areas. The musicians on the ship were quite talented. Demographics & Atmosphere Travelers on this ship were mainly older, but there were also some babies and toddlers and always seemed to be near me wherever I sat down, letting out ear piercing shrieks. When the buffets were full, and seating very limited, people got pretty rude. Actually, there was quite a bit of rude behavior in general, at the buffets. I am referring to the passengers and not the staff. Service & Staff This is where this cruise line shines. Almost every crew member I encountered was very helpful and polite. I even made a few new friends! I am adding a picture of four badges of crew members I want to give special recognition to, for making the cruise much more enjoyable. I hope the cruise line recognizes them for their outstanding customer service. Value for Money Considering the amount spent on this 11-day, 10-night cruise, I believe it was worth it. When you are not spending top dollar on a cruise ship, you really can't expect everything to be high-end. For this reason mainly, I rate this experience a 7 out of 10.

I took a 7-night MSC Seascape Cruise in December, my first cruise experience. Luckily, I enjoyed this adventure! The itinerary included stops in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, and the Bahamas. My partner and I booked a BR3 - Balcony Stateroom on the 14th floor, near the front of the ship. The room was clean and in good condition, except for an old, dusty sofa. But my partner tried to sleep on it and found it comfortable. The room was a bit tight for two people but perfect for one. The balcony was the highlight - big enough to relax on. I recommend paying extra for a room with a balcony; it makes a big difference. I saw rooms that had only the illuminated round window, and they looked tiny and dark. The Queen bed was comfy, but the pillows were too hard. The bathroom was extremely small - the toilet was right next to the tiny shower stall, which barely fit me or my partner (both 6' tall). The sink was also very low, making it uncomfortable to use. The bathroom amenities were of cheap quality and had an unpleasant smell. My rating for the room is 3/5. Room service was great - standard twice a day, with extra cleaning upon request. The housekeeper assigned to us was super nice, friendly, and helpful. All the staff were polite and professional. The Italian captain was hilarious - I still remember his unique "Bye Byyyyyyye!" The restaurant staff were great too (There were a few restaurants onboard, and I was assigned to visit the Green Restaurant for lunches and dinners). I especially loved the Filipino manager in the Green Restaurant; she was so sweet and kind. My rating for the staff is 5/5. The food in the Green Restaurant was generally good, though some dishes during the last days were terrible. Desserts were always delicious. The dinner menu had both daily staples and rotating specials. Lunch was repetitive and boring, so we switched to the buffet, which was AMAZING! It had a huge variety of dishes - from freshly baked Italian pizza to Serbian national dishes. The only big issue at the buffet was the free drinks selection. Juices, lemonades, and iced tea - they all tasted awful every single day. And here's why: they mixed them with too much water, which took away all the strong flavors, so every time we basically ended up drinking flavored water. My overall rating for food is 3.5/5. The ship was huge and always ideally clean, the staff really cared about keeping all the areas spotless. I liked the ship's design a lot, and some parts of it looked magnificent! For example, the atrium and the staircase in the center of the ship were stunning. There were so many options for spending time onboard - from relaxing in jacuzzis to enjoying cabaret and musical shows. The daily entertainment program was full of events, both for adults and kids. I tried many different shows, and I liked them all. The gym was nice but small, and the sauna in the men's section was tiny too. The biggest downside for me was the adults-only swimming pool at the back of the ship, which was always busy and noisy,no chance to relax there. The family-friendly pools on the top floor were even worse - always crowded with families and kids. Also,I didn't like that all the jacuzzis closed very early, right after sunset. My overall rating for amenities and entertainment is 4/5. The itinerary was good, with enough time at most destinations. Jamaica and Mexico had great schedules, and the full day on Ocean Cay was fantastic. But George Town, Cayman Islands, was disappointing. The ship left at 4 p.m., and the last transfer boat was at 3:30 p.m., leaving little time to explore. Overall, I rate the itinerary 4/5, with -1 point for the bad timing in the Cayman Islands. Lastly, the Wi-Fi was slow and overpriced. The MSC app had issues, and the Miami terminal was outdated and messy. Disembarkation was strict, and we were asked to leave by 9 a.m., which felt rushed. Overall, I'd rate my experience 4/5. The MSC Seascape offers high standards, and I enjoyed the adventure. There's room for improvement, but I recommend it for families, couples, and solo travelers!

    Cabana I did not order

Just finished a four-day cruise to Nassau and Ocean Cay. The ship and crew were fine, along with a few excellent evening shows. My beef is with booking a cabana on Ocean Cay. We were in the Yacht Club portion of the ship and decided to reserve a cabana for our day on Ocean Cay. We went to the Yacht Club Concierge counter and inquired the prices for the cabanas. The young lady there said ocean view cabanas were $150 and the beach front cabanas were $500. My friend Cody and I both asked again the prices and were told the same. We requested the ocean view and agreed to $150. Signed the form and got the ticket. The next day we went to the cabana and spent about 4 hours there. Upon returning to the ship I checked my MSC "billing" and saw the charge for $500. The young lady apparently signed us up for the beachfront cabana when we wanted the lower priced cabana option. Upset, I visited the Yacht Club Concierge desk again and spoke with a gentlemen, who conformed we were booked for the pricier cabana. He said they would look into it. Nothing happened. Went back with my friend the next day and spoke with another woman at the Yacht Club Concierge desk, who after hearing of the alleged "bait and switch" deal said she would contact her supervisor and that I would be contacted to discuss what could be done. I never received any contact back from anyone at MSC. Be weary of this bait and switch. I assumed that since my friend and I both heard the original pricing and we both requested the lower priced option that we would be fine. Not so. I can't say I'll never cruise MSC again, but I feel horrible after this deceitful move and really expected some corporate person would reach out to me to resolve. I will share this horrible tale with family and friends for some time to come. Wayne B. Excursion # OCC17YC

Horrible cruise lines, if you have a Family member that dies at cruise time they will not refund money or change dates. Very deplorable

Does anyone have a method of contacting the cruise line other the useless phone numbers? I am looking to cancel and the agents are less than helpful and trying to increase the penalty for cancelling.

You have to call who you booked thru. I know that's not much help. You may be able to log on and go thru MSC portal. But they were not much help. And we pushed thru on my reservation. Cruise was ok. Guests were worst I've EVER encountered.… Read more

But we never got to take this trip our youngest son had a brain aneurysm days before we were scheduled to leave. The day of our trip our son was having open brain surgery....we had to cancel they were wonderful helping us cancel our trip we were not able to get refunds back on the extra excursions but the flights and hotels were credited back to us. Our son survived but our marriage did not. I might just have to contract them soon to see what they have to offer now!!!

This travel membership club might be great for many people but for us it really rates No stars (the…read moresystem required we give it at least one). We bought a "Platinum" membership which makes us the highest privileged and highest cost members. What a huge mistake! We regret it so much. During the sales meeting the sales rep invited us to test the services first and told us we'd have 3 days to cancel and sweetened the deal by offering a free 7 night cruise of the Caribbean if we bought right then. Pointing out that we could cancel later (3 day rescission period) for a $299 fee if they didn't exceed our expectations. So, we did. We were so impressed with the sales information and she estimated the savings for us on the 5 trips we had planned and a couple more the following year would save more than the membership cost it. Based on just those 7 trips it made the $5,000s a no brainer. Turns out we had no brain. The next day we sent the travel agent the information on the 5 trips we had planned for the next 10 months to research and price. We followed up with a phone call to discuss and clarify our preferences. 2 days later we had nothing back. We called the travel agent who didn't return our calls. So we called the sales rep. She convinced us that they had a unique staffing situation and if we just gave them some more time they'd prove it to us within another week. We gave them the time. Then they stopped accepting our calls, ignoring our emails and when we showed up in person told us the rescission period had expired and they contractually didn't have to do anything for us but would investigate our service concerns and get back to us. They got back to us and told us our travel requests were too imprecise to respond to but they will consider a refund. Weeks have gone by and they are still "considering" our cancellation request. If you do a trip or two a year and want to go on a special fare cruise or stay at a timeshare off season they have deals and may be a great value for you. If you are like us and travel several times a year and want to go great places when the weather is good--and expect people to call and email you back then, like us, you might not be a good fit for this "club". I know we really regret having "joined".
