I went in to get my brother a haircut. He likes his hair fairly long so I showed the barber a picture and told him my brother liked his hair long so to go a bit lower on the sides and long on the top. His hair was about three inches long on the top and is now half a centimeter. His hairline got pushed back in the corners and he has multiple cuts on the back of his head. They gave no consideration when I stated it was not what he wanted or what I asked for and got nothing but " sorry about that " THE WORST. I've driven by this place many times as I'm a Quincy resident the past 3 years. Walking in I already had bad vibes. The 2 barbers were talking a long time as 1 of the barbers was putting me in the system (ok took him 5 mins). Ok now the place was empty as I like to get my hair cuts without any wait. The cut was so so and I almost passed put due to the tightness of the cloth piece that goes around your neck which wasn't the barbers fault though. The cut took the standard time about 25-30mins maybe a little longer. The price was what I sort of expected but I was looking for far more quality since it cost $30! I'll stick to my DR dudes in Dorchester near Adams village for a cheaper and better quality cut for $20. I won't be going back $37 with tip no thanks. read more

September 18, 2018 went there for a haircut during lunch. I only wanted a 1 and a lineup. He literally quickly buzzed my head unevenly and gave me an uneven lineup and that was it. There was zero care and customer service mentality. I will never go back to this barbershop. I advise others not to give their money to this business. This place has gone downhill quickly. Firstly, the staff (mostly the front desk) is really rude. On several occasions I've gone in a couple hours before the noted closing time and have been told that there is no one to cut hair even though there are clearly people without customers. Walk in wait times when you are able to have someone cut your hair is long, sometimes over an hour. The barber that I use to see, Julio, was awesome but unfortunately... like many of the previous talented barbers at Crew Cutz, he's no longer there. Julio wanted to open his own shop; I'll have to find out if he was able to and depending on where it is, I'll follow him for my haircuts. One last thing, all around Crew Cutz is a 508 phone number that suggest that you call if you have a concern or complaint. Well, I recently tried to call this number and it's either disconnected or you're unable to leave a message. I think this is the number for the owner, John Smith, but I haven't seen him in the shop in like 2 years. He used to be there every day, was a great dude about making sure everything was how you wanted it but rumor is he's never there anymore and possibly trying to sell the shop and move on. I usually trim and line up my beard myself at home and rarely get it done outside. I have been to Dolo's before and got a nice trim done but thought to try crew cuts. Apparently it was the owner, John who worked on my beard. I gave him simple instructions on what I want done but I guess it was too hard. He stood 2 feet away and acted as if he was painting a canvas throwing his hand all over the place. I told him it was shorter than what I wanted and he started to argue and when I asked him to atleast make my left side look like my right, he shrugged, made a pretty annoyed face and did less than a half ass job. (Excuse my language) I walked out of the barber shop more than unsatisfied and later called him to get his name and not to my surprise, a handful of attitude. "Its not the end of the world" "if your beard is so sentimental why don't you do it yourself?" "Don't ever come back to my barbershop is you don't like it, my other customers were satisfied!" John, your shop looks nice and colorful, real nice for a barbershop, your workers might be good too, but maybe you should just stick to running the shop and not do a single haircut at all. read more

Have been in a few times the past year. I'm bad with appointments and rely on walk-ins. Was asked to wait two hours today, which wasn't happening. Was one other guy waiting and on hearing my wait time he left on my heels. Was my second time walking out in so many months. In terms of the past year the cuts were passable. Nice people. Fun music. Inexpensive. Good quality cuts. I usually get my hair cut at a very expensive salon... as many women do. But then I decided it was too much for me and I went to Crew Cutz and had them buzz my hair short. I walked in first thing without an appointment and they were happy to help. I had Martin as my barber and he was so nice! He did a very good job buzzing my hair and sculpting it to maintain feminine features and shape. I came in for a haircut first thing after work around 6pm and had a great experience. I typically get my hair cut either at barber shops or chains like SuperCuts or Cost Cutters. I prefer to go with a local business, but sometimes it's not as convenient. But Crew Cutz is *super* convenient. It's close to the Quincy Center T station. You can call ahead to avoid a wait and request your favorite barber. One thing they do that's interesting is ask what kind of music you like when you sign in. Then they'll do their best to play some of it next time you stop by! My haircut was pretty meticulous. The barber kept retouching it for about 10-15 minutes after I would have considered my hair adequately cut. Some people love that attention to detail, and others just would rather get in and out with a simple 'do, which is why I suspect some other reviews complain about long wait times. I'll probably go back as long as I live in Quincy and I'll just be sure to call ahead. read more

Love this place! My boyfriend went to "Crew Cutz" for a second time yesterday, Tues. 3.29.16. He had an amazing experience! He does very little to pamper himself. I made him an appt. online. His haircut was with Ralph, who is the manager. He said Ralph spent almost an hour on his, taking his time and doing a fabulous job. He also gave him the hot towel treatment, which my boyfriend had never had before. He felt like a million bucks! He cut his hair and beard just like he wanted. The price is amazing, too! "Crew Cutz" is clean, they have lots of different magazines to look at while you are waiting, and they are very professional and nice. Great biz and love the service. I had a really great experience with my haircut here. The girl was very nice and actually listened when I said I didn't want too much taken of the top. I was almost in disbelief when i got a shoulder massage at the end. Granted she was using some kind of machine, but none the less pretty impressive for a $20 haircut. I first tried a few other barbershops in the area, but found Crew Cutz to be the best due to location (right across from the T), price $20 regular haircut ($15 on Wednesday), and service. I recently moved to Quincy and was searching for a barber or hair dresser, who ever can cut good hair i dont care. I have been to both and have had great cuts and catastrophies. I have been going to crew cuts for a little over a year averaging 2-3 hair cuts a month, so i have a good overview on the job done here. I am very picky about my hair and really do not like to get a bad cut. It just ruins a good day and your stuck with it till it grows out and you find a new barber. Over the past year i have not had one hair cut i did not like or was not impressed by the barbers work. I have used almost every barber in that place. My work schedule only allows me a short period of time to get my hair cut so i have to use who ever is available that day and all have fit the bill and done a wonderful job. My "Go To" guys are Robbie, this dude can make any cut happen. He is a true artist, legit the kid is talented he showed me his art work and its amazing, well he does the same thing he does to a canvas as he does to your hair with his clippers and sissors. I have asked for all different kinda cuts and he is up for every challenge and knocks it outta the park. He is diligent, hardworking, and craftful when it comes to your hair. Drew is my other guy, he was the first person i went to at Crew Cutz and he sure made a good first impression on me. Every time i call and ask to make an appointment with Drew he is always booked solid for the day, i guess everyone else see the excellence in his abilities like i do. I also like going to Long, he always goes the extra mile for you, weather its using the hot towel, warm shaving cream, or just going back and double checking every strand he cuts he is definatly a solid barber with great skills. These guys are all very talented. I try to line up by beard or ssideburns at home and i butcher them. These guys make it look so easy and always give you the exact cut you want. My girl friend always complains that it takes 45 mins to an hours to get my hair done and does not understand the time, detail, and ellegace these guys put in to all there cuts. Its truely art work. I dont want to go to Super Cuts and be in and out of the chair in 5 mins. I look forward and enjoy going to get my hair did!!! They are working that whole 45 mins and i have had enough hair cuts in my time to know they are doing a great job and not trying to fix a mistake like some of the others barbers i have been to. All the guys are cool, down to earth, hard working people. Ill sit there for 2 hours to know i was getting the best cut i could. The shop is always in top notch condition. The hair is swept up immediately and all tools and products are up to date and clean. The shop gives you the feeling of being ina barber shop with great decor and atmosphere. The shop has TV's so you wont miss the game, music and free wifi which is always a plus any where u are. They also have computers you can use. One.time i needed to get out a work email and my phone just died, the computers were there for use, i got my email out and updated my fantasy football team. What more could you ask for in a barber shop. They take their time and hook you up right. While my girl always complains how long it takes, she is always super impressed with how my hair comes out and she always says thats a great hair cut. "Getting Handsome takes time!!!" Its hard to find a good barber these days, come to Crew Cuts and you will find about 10. Get a hair cut and a good conversation. Horrible customer service. This isn't a regular gentleman's barber shop. Evidently it is not a "walk in and wait" type of place. I came in and asked to get a trim. They asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, is that ok? He said let me see if I can fit you in. Meanwhile, there are TWO barbers sprawled out on the barber chairs on their phones with earbuds in their ears, doing nothing. The guy at the front desk sent me to one of the guys sprawled out. The guy gets off the chair, head phones and phone still in hand as I'm trying to talk with him. He says to whomever is on the line to hold on a minute. LOL. I said to him, "are you done with your call?" "Do I have your undivided attention?" ( I mean...after all, I'm here to spend money and keep you employed) The person was still on the line. He rudely said to me, (with a stern look as if I did something wrong), "you have my attention" I said, "it doesn't seem so. the person is still on the phone and your ear buds are still in. Ya know what bud?....I'm gonna pass. I changed my mind on the hair cut." And I walked out. Never....and I mean NEVER, have I experienced such disregard for even average customer service. I don't know who is running this place, but I've gotta tell ya.....choose another shop! Do yourself a favor. I've told most of my friends about what happened. I received a great hair cut including my neck shaved and eye brows trimmed for a impressive 20 bucks. This is the forth time I've been there and each time I've received good friendly service and a great haircut. I brought my 9 year old in to get a haircut on a whim yesterday. Since my boy gets a bit skittish with trimmers, razors, and the like, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the barber was able to calm him down. Since it was a younger guy, he was able to engage him in conversation about the Bruins, school, and whatever else. Before I knew it, they were done and it looked great. My son even turned around and genuinely thanked the barber for cutting his hair which he's NEVER done before! Overall, for a kid's haircut, $15 seems a bit much to me but the demeanor of the barber made it worth it for us. They advertise that they use LevelUp but don't tell you it is only for products, not for cuts. I obviously had other ways to pay, I just don't like feeling misled. If we can manage to get the same guy (who I wish I'd gotten his name, now!) we would definitely go back. read more
