I would give 0 stars if it was an option. My daughter and her partner lost their infant son a year ago. Crevasse in Gainesville handled the cremation and was supposed to send the baby's remains to Ocala to be picked up, which they were. Now on the year anniversary when they feel ready to have a memorial they find the envelope is empty that was supposed to contain their son's ashes. Then to make them feel worse they were made to feel like they were not looking correctly and it must be their fault. Why would you want them to be missing? I was given the owners name and she called and said to call her back. I did repeatedly six times and no response not even a sympathetic one. Nothing.... How callous is that for a company in this line of work? I would think it they should have reached out to them and at the very least expressed condolences and sympathy. read more

This is probably the best choice in providing for the cremation of a loved one in Gainesville,Fl. Other such businesses in this area were difficult to contact, not very helpful if you are not familiar with cremations and available services that they could provide.They made our family become far less stressed in a time we had not planned (as in no will,informal requests in case of but not pre-arranged or prepaid).The director spent a good deal of time,applied no pressure to purchase unneeded or unwanted special additions they could handle, but made us aware of what would be included in the choice we made. The timely manner that they completed the agreed upon arrangements provided provided more support and understanding of our emotional state than we had anticipated,or even considered. The arrangements went smoothly and exactly as they were decscibed by the director who was kind, taking his time to be sure we understood everything they would do,including the ordering of death certificates that would be needed for many things in the next few months. They are also able to get certified copies anytime they might be needed within less than 24 hours. We felt relieved by the ease of our wishes being heard and then carried out in a way that helped us greatly during the time we were basically in shock and concerned that everything was done with a sincerely caring attitude helped ease some of our own worries and the Crevasse staff made everything seem to be personally important at a very trying time.If like us, you or someone you know need help over the death of a loved one, if they are confused or unsure about how to make sure everything will be handled in the manner desired, by referring them to the Crevasse Simple Cremation plans may be a way to help during their time of mourning. No family here, and you know how messy things can get when somebody passes. We'd already made the choice for cremation - I know, there are several other options, but this is ours. We asked around, did some considerable research, and chose to check out Crevasse's in person. After a friendly and appropriate face-to-face meeting to identify our needs and clarify the options, we each decided on a simple cremation. When one of us dies, all we do is call Crevasse's and they will handle everything, including filing paperwork with Social Security etc. The only extra charge will be if we die further than 50 miles from one of their locations (Ocala, Jacksonville, Gainesville).
