First, just a note. This review is getting two stars ONLY because the cut was at least decent…read more Too bad I had to CONVINCE the owner to provide me with the service she claims to provide to ALL of the community. I will not be going back. Here is what happened: We took our Golden Doodle to this location back in January for a cut. The cut itself was nice, but I got the impression that my dog and I were AUDITIONING for HER to provide us a service we were more than willing to pay for. My dog is a Golden Doodle, a problem dog with his short curly hair, I understand that. However, like any dog, he DOES need to be groomed. We brush our dog almost every single day, and he is bathed regularly. Despite OUR efforts, while the dog was being groomed, I received calls about his "mats" in his hair (with us brushing his hair every day, mind you) and then more calls and complaints about the fact that the dog didn't like the blow dryer. All the while, we never complained about how long it would take or the cost of the cut. We understood that it was a difficult cut. After hours of complaints, I picked up my dog who had a pretty good cut. Fast forward to May, and we call and schedule a new cut. We go through the whole process AGAIN of her complaining about his thick fur, his tangles and mats, and how time consuming it would be. AGAIN, we made no argument about cost or how long it may take. She AGREED to the appointment, we took the dog in, and then she proceeded to call, complain that he didn't like the blow dryer, and then refuse to do the hair cut. If it is your job to groom dogs, then you probably shouldn't complain about the fact that some dogs WILL be more difficult to groom than others. If you want to exclude certain dogs from your grooming service, because of their breed go right ahead. But, don't waste my time by whining and complaining that my dog isn't a quick one hour money maker hair cut for you. We would have paid extra for any time it took, and we were more than understanding about constraints like if the dog wasn't blow dried at all. We didn't care. The only person with any complaints was the groomer. For that reason, we will gladly pay more to take our dog to a groomer who actually WANTS to do their job, no matter how difficult the cut. For the constant complaining and for making an appointment and then canceling AFTER we took the dog in, this one star rating is far too much for this business. Take your dogs elsewhere and avoid having to audition to get a haircut for your dog.

My daughter brought her two Yorkies to the salon in Crestview, Florida to be groomed. A short time…read morelater, salon staff called to report that Benny had experienced a seizure and needed to be picked up. As my daughter arrived, she overheard two employees outside on a break. One employee stated, "She manhandled him so hard it caused him to have a seizure." Understandably, my daughter was shocked and extremely upset. Inside the salon, staff told her there would be no charge. Although distressed, she offered to pay for the grooming of her female Yorkie before leaving and calling me. Conversation With Store Manager Carlie I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. Carlie answered and she focused on the fact that Benny had experienced seizures in the past and said my daughter had not disclosed that history. A prior seizure history does not answer the central question: why did an employee say that Benny had been man handled so hard that it caused a seizure? Carlie denied that Benny had been manhandled and said the employee who made the statement had misunderstood the situation and, after being informed of the facts, responded, "Oh, I didn't know that, okay." During the call, Carlie repeatedly spoke to a coworker in the background, making comments such as, "Yeah, I told her that," and, "Yeah, she won't listen." Her manner was dismissive and disrespectful. I did not swear or make threats; I repeatedly asked for a truthful explanation. Carlie ultimately ended the conversation by stating, in substance, that I had decided what I believed and that she was done speaking with me. I expect Petsense to explain how its response is consistent with its promise: "The Place You Trust, For the Pets You Love."
