We've been using Cresskill Animal Hospital for 18 years & lately things have been going a bit downhill. They have judgy receptionists who seem to think they know more than the Vets and a Vet who thinks it's ok to leave a message on an unmonitored phone & not follow up for months, despite both our dogs having monthly Tech appointments. That said, Dr Khadari & Dr Yablonovich have always been wonderful & on top of things. read more

The skilled Drs at C.A.H. continue to keep my elderly sick pets as healthy as possible. Nothing negative to say.

Decent vet clinic. Basically clean good service. Largely apathetic and often confrontational front desk staff. Massively overcharges for medication. Drontal cat and dog deworming tabs can be purchased for 4-5 $ per tablet. (This is the same chemical medication for humans) . This animal hospital charged $20. There are better options out there. Laws and regulations artificially restrict the supply of vets and thus prices are massively inflated. There are better options out there read more

You should 100% be reimbursed for 100% of your medical costs trying to repair the damage they caused.....which is not yet even resolved. I have a lawyer that's handled cases like this before. I have taken my dogs to Cresskill Animal Hospital for years and have had positive experiences with the care provided at their facility.

Not impressed with the care for an animal hospital commanding premium prices for care. I brought the dog for ear infection. They charged me $300 for visit, ear medication, allergy shot and trimming dog's nails. They asked that I came back in 2 weeks for follow up. After 2 weeks the dog was sicker than before and ear infection was worse. They said the medication they gave her did not kill the bacteria so they gave another medication and they charged me $300 again. I questioned the fact that the first time nothing they did worked, dog got sicker instead and they charged me another $300. Their answer was that "medication is not magic and sometime works and sometime it does not". Bottom line the dog was diagnosed with the wrong type of bacteria (only one type was identified) and they took no accountability. read more

I have been coming here for a very long time and I am very happy with them. You never feel pressured to do anything that you are unsure of. The receptionists are so friendly and caring. The doctors are exceptional. read more

We only come here to get the dogs nails clipped and for the free (Town) rabies shots (our mutt really didn't need a lot of medical care). Yet, when Scooter started to go into some kind of fit, we brought him--Dr. Elizabeth Merz and at least three of her kind staff stayed open late on a Friday to see us. They sent us home with a lot of information, some medication, a bit of hope, and told us to call in the morning. When Scooter didn't get better, we brought him back to put him down. They could not have been kinder to us or Scooter. Their prices were not outrageous, either. Very clean, great staff, too. read more

My dog had a surgery and we were very unhappy with the way it went and will no longer be using them. She required a specialist and corrective surgeries as a result of the original surgery at Cresskill . My 3 star rating is only because I have been told that Cresskill will be acting in good faith and reimbursing us for all of the medical expenses incurred as a result of the original surgery. read more

Dr. Ashley Elia is a true professional, warm, compassionate and kind. She explains procedures and care plans easily for all of us to understand and worked with our family beautifully when there were specific vaccines or interventions we did not want our older dog to receive etc. Unfortunately we needed to help Lucy move onto a better place. Dr. Elia was with available and very much helped us to make decisions regarding her care. Lucy is a golden retriever - and was 3 months shy of 15 years. She passed away yesterday and although we are devastated by her loss and we miss her much, not only was Dr. Ashely with us the last two days --both during an extensive home visit and then in the clinic the next day to help us to help to help our dog ... she made the end of Lucy's life peaceful and dignified. read more

I have been using their services for my nine dogs and three rabbits for 5+ years since moving to town. All the dr's are professional. I love the fact that Dr. Jaime Elia knows all my dogs and their specific health concerns. She is knowledgeable and always follows up on all important iszues personally. And Dr. Arns is fabulous with small pets. She is gentle and caring. The staff are all fabulous! They also offer dog grooming and kennel services. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!! They almost killed my cat and did not care! We had to spend the whole night in the ER at a different place to cure my cat. It was a very close call and my cat was in so much pain. They also bruised my dogs rib during grooming. HORRIBLE PLACE AND HORRIBLE, RUDE AND GREEDY STAFF. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This animal hospital provides the best care for my pets! I feel comfortable with any of the doctors taking care of my dog. Although most recently we saw Dr. Ashley, we have previously seen both Dr. Elia and Dr. Arns and they are great as well. The nurses who work there are always super nice, and they seem to know how to handle animals in the safest way possible. It is also great that they see more than cats and dogs, they see pets like rabbits, reptiles, hamsters, etc. so if I ever decide to get one of these, I know I will still have a vet! I've been using them for twenty years, and six dogs, and can't say enough good things. The new additions to the practice are all excellent. I won't dream of going anywhere else. I actually I have once due to a holiday emergency and it cost me mentally and financially. read more

This past December we noticed our dogs belly was looking big. We took her to Cresskill Animal hospital were a veterinarian we had never seen before did an x-ray and some blood work. She told us all the blood work was normal, that our dog had an enlarged liver but that happens sometimes with theses breeds, and she was young and her blood work is all normal. She said nonchalantly that down the line we might consider an ultrasound because they show more than the x-rays do. I said ok let's do it, but the Vet said well we couldn't do it today anyway. It's something that we'd have to call and schedule, always qualifying her statements with but she's young and all her blood work is normal. She presented the information like one would say German Shepherds have hip problems as they get older. Well just a couple of weeks ago the dog started vomiting on a Saturday March the 8th.We took her to the Cresskill animal hospital on Monday morning. Later that day we were called by Cresskill Animal hospital and told the dog was diabetic and too sick for them to keep overnight, because they did not have the staff to provide the care our dog needed. We were instructed to pick her up and take her to Oradell Animal Hospital. In the first five minutes we learned so much from the Veterinarian at Oradell Animal hospital; Information that we wished we had been told in December before her poor little organs began shutting down. Apparently poodle breeds do tend to get enlarged livers, but is an indicator of tumors growing on their adrenal glands, causing Cushing's and then diabetes. After one night of our dog not responding to the treatment and just getting sicker we came to the painful decision that it would be best for our sweet little dog to put her out of her misery and put her down. When I called to talk to Cresskill about the turn of events I was told the vet was a fill in and not one of their regular employees. The office manager said the vet's note said she recommended an ultrasound. My answer to that is just because someone knows how to write a good note does not mean they are any good at patient education. If we were told enlarged livers run in that breed and it indicates tumors on the adrenals and Cushing's disease we would have been more aggressive in treating her earlier; maybe even have prevented her death. She was only five years old. I would have preferred paying thousands of dollars in December with surgery instead on a last ditch useless effort now. Such a shame. We have another dog, the dead dog's mother; you can guess which animal hospital we will take her to from now on. read more
