I have a carrier condenser and the motor for it should be widely available at most hvac supply houses . They send one of their highly qualified rip-off artists who proceeds to tell me he'll do it for $1800. I just started laughing at him and realized what kind of company I was dealing with. I used to do plumbing and hvac in the eighties. The only reason I called a company to come over is because I'm 73 years old now and had a recent liver transplant and throat cancer a few years back. But I still planned to do it myself but I can't buy the motor at a supply house. Which is why I decided to call a contractor. Oh boy I wish I had read the reviews. Just my luck I called a company whose "techs" are a fleet of out of control thieves . I'm not sure if they have the owners blessing to be out there robbing people for whatever they can get away with but it's a good example of why you don't want to put your techs on commission if you won't keep them under control. So anyway I did find a motor that would work at Home Depot for $149 but the mounting was all wrong so I spent 3 hours retrofitting it. Then it took me two hours to install crawling in and out of my house with my dry tongue dragging across the dirt and concrete. Just can't find good honest help these days.

First, he said he needed to make sure we didn't have a leak. Well...we had a slab leak. He referred us to a fantastic plumber (Eddy Ks Plumbing and Heating) that fixes leaks under slabs and he did a phenomenal job. We still wanted to replace the water heater so Joe was patient while all the excavation, repair, and restoration work was done. Joe did a great job replacing our water heater and even built a new stand/table for it. We were billed what we were quoted and he showed up on time and was very professional. We will definitely call him for any future heating, cooling or plumbing needs.

He tested the unit and he tested our water quality. He removed and took away the old water heater. He gave us a tutorial on how to maintain this new unit. The new water heater is a better quality than Home Depot in that it is made in the USA and is made with better steel. This unit is easier to get replacement parts. Next project is a new water softener that is tailored to the water test results we have from our HOA water well. We highly recommend Korco and Cornelius. They will be our plumbing solutions in the future.
