I did a review on Crescent Pointe several years ago and frankly stopped playing it despite it being one of my favorite courses in Hilton Head. But having read the most recent reviews, I decided to give it another try. And it's exceptionally better! The course is in great shape! The only remaining issue (from my perspective) are the cart paths. But I'll gladly put up with those for the great conditions of the course! Give it a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

With proper expectations, this place is decent for the cost. Friendly staff and course was in good shape - again for the price and based on others in the area. The layout has some challenges and when you factor in the wind, marsh, and those carries it is not an easy course to say the least. Some good scenery along the marshland along with some wildlife sprinkled in. Saw some water fowl, turkeys, a bunny and the fox squirrels which are pretty cool looking. It's a good fill in course during a golf trip as it's not too busy. The downside to the lack of business is no beer cart but you can load up on supplies before your round as well as on the turn. read more

The greens were burned. Drainage was poor on cart paths and fairways. One green actually needed mowing. Cart paths were rough with pot holes and standing water. The condition was worse than a municipal course. The cost to play was too high to reflect the condition of the course. But the staff was very very nice. Such a shame. read more

What a well maintained course. I was looking for a quick 9 holes ( warm up for 18 holes later in my vacation )and this course is perfect. I should have went back here for the whole 18. The course was in great shape. Lovely community. And the price was awesome. $45 pp with a cart. We had a great day. I'd def go back. read more

First, let me say that the staff were beyond friendly. The gentleman that came to get our bags loaded onto the cart was great. Unfortunately that is where the positives stop This is hands down the worst shape of a golf course that I have ever played. It was in such poor shape that we called GolfNow on the 6th hole to let them know how terrible this was. They contacted the pro shop to get a review on the quality of the course and even the pro shop said it's in terrible shape so GolfNow refunded out money and we left after playing 7 holes The pictures will tell the story but shag carpet greens, fairways that have tall grass and weeds throughout them, and essentially sand trap tee boxes. It was shockingly bad and a course we will never return to. Save your money and play elsewhere read more

I lived within a few miles of the Crescent as I like to call it. The course in the double digit times I played it has always been perfect. Manicured tee to green, fairways are so nice, the ball sits up as if it were on a pool table, you can see the entire ball. Like a pool table, unless it down poured, expect lightning greens. Above the hole, your potentially going to be in trouble. Almost as much trouble if you happen upon a gator while chasing down your Bridgestone that may not have cleared the water. Facilities inside are tip top and the staff seem to enjoy their jobs. Imagine that. Check the website for deals. If your visiting and compilng your list of courses, do not miss the Crescent. If you live or frequent the Bluffton/HHI area and you have not played this track, why the heck not? TIP: Bring extra balls, you can leave this course depleted, as it really is target golf! read more

Crescent Pointe Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature Course with plenty of marsh, lagoons and tight fairways. The course is very well maintained. If you can't hit over water or drive straight, you may lose a few balls. The cost is very reasonable. From the time you drop off your bag, there's someone ready to place them on the carts. You can walk this course, but there are some long walks between several holes. My wife and I both played. She hasn't played golf in over 20 years, but really enjoyed the course. Mainly because of the scenery and wildlife. Where else will you find wild turkeys in the middle of the fairway? The one thing we noticed is that in the afternoons, you pretty much have the course to yourself. Only golfers are allowed on the course between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., even though we had to stop play around 5 pm to allow a dog walker to continue down the cart path. In summary--- course is in very good shape, tight fairways, lots of water, lots of sand. read more

Great layout, but terrible upkeep. A great Palmer layout that is suitable for any level golfer however, as soon as we stepped on the practice green we were worried about the condition of the course as it was all dead. Once getting to the first green and seeing that it was the length of most fairways down here in Hilton Head we knew this place was going to be in rough shape. A lot of fairways were baked out and dead, extremely wet and unplayable, or just full of weeds. Greens were shaggy and bumpy with poa all over. You can tell they put a minimal amount of money into the upkeep of the course. Keep your money away from this place and take it to places like Old South or HH National where they actually keep the course in good shape. Not worth wasting your time and money. read more

Please get this course a Greenskeeper. While 6+ holes have exceptional scenery, greens are unplayable. Combination of unhealed plugs, weeds, and lack of grass make it a challenge. Could be pretty course but weeds and general upkeep have been lacking for some time. Not a surprise no one has reviewed this course in some time. read more

The restaurant at Crescent Point Golf Club is fabulous. Charlotte the owner took great care of my group, going above and beyond as far as customer service. She even ran out and got us a deck of cards!! Amazing! Great food and beer selection also!! Check them out!! read more

This course went from semi-private to public about a year ago. Seems to have declined - ALOT. Bunkers are now waste bunkers. Waste bunkers are now dirt. Pros - beautiful layout with a ton of potential. Cons - went from public to private and it shows. Big decline in quality. Hope the new owner fixes this once beautiful. read more

The course was a little rough for the price. The greens were in good shape, The fairways were dried up and burnt out in places. Tee boxes mowed but not racked a lot of wet grass all over the tee boxes. Was disappointed in the course for the price we paid. Would not go back if I was in the area. read more

Very pleased with this course compared to other local courses of this price range. We stayed in Hilton Head and didn't want to spend $100 on the high-end courses so we tried a few courses in Bluffton and this was by far the best. Great design and gorgeous setting. Felt like playing in the middle of a tropical jungle. Will be playing here next time we visit! read more

After review of of the golf course, I think I will pass. I was planing on playing the course, however I think I'll pass. For the price of green fees, given the condition of the course, I'll pass. This is a very nice course and has several teeing options for all playing abilities. I played the course a few weeks ago and it was in fantastic shape. The clubhouse and stater staff were very pleasant and I only paid $35 for 18 with a cart. The 17th hole is one of my favorites because of the marsh that cozies up to the green. This course will test your playing ability especially if you play from the back tees. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were exceptional. You won't be disappointed. read more

A golfing friend of mine recommended this course. It is off HHI but not far. My husband and I played and we really had a good time. Lots of gators so be careful and don't act like a tourist. I think it is semi-private but it didn't seem to be a problem to get a good greens fee rate. read more

Great round of golf. We played late in the afternoon and prayed for a sun shower. No such luck. The back night has a little more shade but it is a golf course trees are a blessing and a curse. I'm considered a beginning golf and I had fun. My partner is more experienced and he was challenged. They will match the golf now price if you ask about it. Good luck. read more

The National Collegiate Club Golf Association hosted its first Southeast Regional Tournament at The Crescent (as the locals call it) this past weekend, October 5th and 6th. The course was in great shape and the staff was very helpful. We played from the blue tees which are 6399 yards, and it was a very solid test of golf. There course is tree lined, with water on over half of the holes. It requires precision off the tee and on approach shots. These are some of the toughest greens I have ever played on, largely due to the undulation and speed. There are subtle breaks everywhere which can fool you. This makes it all the more satisfying when you see the ball go in the hole, because you know that you made a solid read and committed to it. If you are looking for a beautiful course with a fair test, I would highly recommend Crescent Pointe Golf Club! read more

****Be prepared for a 5 hour golf game***** Course was beautiful and well kept. They didn't have any course layout to look at which kind of stunk and the first two holes start off pretty tricky. Con's: Showed up and they didn't have my tee time written down. Once they get your money they really don't care about you anymore. We were supposed to be the first ones off the tee box in the morning and they lost it but the people that tee'd off in front of us happened to be members.(go figure). They were playing so slow they had us waiting everyone shot for 18 holes and 3 groups were backed up behind us. We called the club house and they said their ranger was to busy to tell them to speed up. Overall I would play the course again but definitely would not recommend them because of the poor service. Crescent Pointe GC is one of the best maintained, well designed (Arnold Palmer Signature Course), scenic golf course in the SC Low Country. Terrain elevation changes makes for a very interesting round. It provides a challange for players of all abilities. It is important to remember not to "bite off more than you can chew". Pick an approriate tee box and you'll throughly enjoy your round. The staff is friendly and helpful. Caution: Keep you hands out of the lagoons...a few gators were spotted and photograhed by my son as we played out round in August 2011! Great golf value. read more
