Classic Pasture Pool. Another reviewer focused on this and it is true. Acres of lovely turf, fast smooth greens, impressive-looking bunkers, courses devoid of strategy. What Fazio has made a career uilding. Greens capable of extreme speed. Needed to provide any challenge, does not reward shot-making other than maybe distance control. What passes for good golf rather than what is good golf, honestly the model of that extra conditioning does not yield prolonged interest as does linear strategic options. Indeed on several levels one might call BH better than Belfair, but not on Golf Course quality. Turf, yes, by far, but golf is about strategy, not conditioning. Most notable aspect of the two Berkeley Hall Courses are its cart paths - especially the South. I've never seen more curvy, twisty hedged-in paths as at this place. I've played both courses a few times and I can hardly remember five holes distinctly, but the cart paths stick out. Interestingly the courses are proffered as "Core" without interior housing, but there is a line of houses splitting up the end of the North Course. Core created by isolating to the perimeter the houses themselves that view the course in many places. They are separated from the course by moats and long bunkers preventing home owners from walking out onto the golf courses. I've visited hundreds and hundreds of private clubs, anticipation for this one was high, very disappointing, repeat visits didn't raise opinion.Lots of style over substance, but if that's enough, you'll love it. read more
