They have 10 possible tee areas ranging in slope from 152 (Championship) to 103 (Family short). Restrooms on hole 5 and 13 with honor bar refreshments which are paid after play ends. The fairways were plush and free from most divots. The greens were in great shape and very fast. Some of the greens are the size of a postage stamp. The challenge is getting the ball to hold the green. The course isn't overly challenging. There were a couple of holes where the trees and marsh come into play. My worst hole was number 11 when I found myself behind a group of trees on the left. Pace of play was good. We started at 12:30 and finished at 4:30. Very nice practice range and putting green. They also have a chipping green next to the practice range. The clubhouse was very nice as well.

We linked up with another twosome and had a great day out on the links. The course was extremely busy (it was during the holidays, so many people were off work.) I do wish there was a cart-person out on the course, but maybe because of Covid, they didn't have one? We picked up some sandwiches and beers at the pro-shop and filled up our cooler ahead of time. The course was challenging- many holes were surrounded by lots of water. We had a great day and will definitely be back!

While this is the opposite of what we are accustomed to in Florida, customer service took care of us. Course is relatively a simple layout. Not a lot of water or hazards. It's a fun course but unfortunately, the greens had been sanded recently. Regardless, they rolled ok and the fairways were in decent shape. No need to bring any balls or tee's. They're provided with each booth. THE ONLY down side to playing in a simulation is the depth perception is off but remember it's not VR or 3D but each shot is extremely accurate and true. The owners and staff are highly professional, and customer service was excellent throughout our visit. The venue features a full bar, though food is not served; however, outside food and beverages are permitted. There is also a small indoor putting green, lounge area, apparel for purchase, 2 bathrooms and a viewing area with TV's. This location is suitable for individuals of all ages and skill levels, and I would highly recommend it. I look forward to returning! Also, please clean your clubs prior to playing. The dirt from your club will transfer to the ball and end up scuffing/dirtying the screen. This place is awesome and the only venue in the area like this. We as a public need to take care of and support the small businesses in our community. Something so little can go a long way! Leave it better than how you found it.

Opened in 2000 as a private golf club with 18 challenging holes, Chechessee Creek Club also has a tasteful full-service Clubhouse, Lodge and several Cottages for relaxing between rounds or entertaining friends. I was immediately struck by the stately Lowcountry charm of the one-story Clubhouse replete with hard wood floors and tasteful oriental area rugs. The Clubhouse dining room has an intimate yet unpretentious ambience with top-tier Southern hospitality and genuinely friendly service. I immediately felt at home while respecting their long-standing traditions. Once on the golf course, with knowledgeable caddies guiding us through the contours of the greens, I quickly appreciated the beauty of this Coore-Crenshaw track. The fairways quietly wind through stately Southern pines and quintessential live oaks with picturesque Spanish moss. Chechessee's simple yet classy cream-colored scorecard calls out a 6,641 yard round trip from the championship tees while the member tees check in at 5,930. I found the small, crowned greens to be the biggest challenge of Chechessee. I can attest to the fact that failing to stick your ball on the green can easily result in a double bogey. Chechessee Creek Club represents an awesome private golf club experience in the heart of South Carolina's Lowcountry. So you feel you are a great amateur golfer, right?…read more Well this is definitely the golf course to learn how proficient a golfer you feel you are versus how good a golfer you actually are in reality. How would I know? Because I lived on this Island for seventeen years with its twenty-seven hole Tom Fabio designed golf course will be challenging for any amateur golfer. The Pro Shop staff is friendly, polite, and a lot of fun starting with their Club Pro Wes. Magnolia's nine course has a slope of 145. But if you "feel froggy", then leap over to Palmettos' nine which are my favorite (vistas, and challenges) to test your skills for that specular challenge. Here is a tip: If you hit into the short grass in the rough, unless you have a VERY STRONG SWING, give up! Why? Because when the rough grabs your club and pulls your arms out of your shoulder sockets dislocating them, you may feel it was not worth it to not only blow your round (and pay the off your bet. No, not you, there is not betting in golf) but to have to take that trip to the hospital. Of course, I do not mean you "young buck" because "Yue can do it!" Lol Fees are about right for a course of this quality. The NCAA's Big East both Men's and Women's play their Championship Tournaments here which we watched each year. So I always felt that was a positive endorsement of Callawassie's golf courses. The other reason I feel it is a quality course is the over 12.8 million dollars their club membership (yes, this included me) invested over that 17 years I was a member in retrofitting this course. Another tip: ever putt on concrete? You will be happy you did when you putt on these greens. Believe me when I state the Membership only opened up this gem of a golf course to the public to help offset the very "inexpensive" water regulations the EPA imposed upon all golf courses in the United States but especially in the Southeast. Devon (tender bar) is you host in the main clubhouse. Where the food is good to great depending on the day. You have your choice of quite a few golf courses in the Beaufort/Hilton Head area but if you want to challenge your game then Callawassie's (27) holes will fulfill your need for a great golf challenge and provide you all you can handle, just fine! As part of the local men's group, I joined for a tournament. Originally we were supposed to play…read morethe Hills course, but later got changed to the Cupp course. The design of the course was not too challenging. I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the greens and the cart paths. There are a couple of wooden bridges that are pieced together so much, they should just put down a rubber mat. For this time of year, the fairways should be a bit more plush. The greens were aerated and sanded which made putting much more challenging. Very nice staff and pro shop. You don't need a gate pass to play. The course is separate from the private community.

The foursome behind us has not had to wait once, we are always walking off of the greens when they are teeing off on par 4's and 5's. The club house is not even located at the end of nine holes, it's a 5 minute drive to get there and 5 minute drive back. We didn't even stop at the turn. We were so delayed at 10, we were able to drive back between 9 & 8 to go back to the bathrooms. When we returned the group in front of us were just finishing up their second shots. Please explain how we were behind pace. Just arrived at 15 and he thanked us for picking up the pace, "I told him we were playing any different", I think he realized he was wrong. BUT, my group will never play here again. PS, if you play here bring bug spray, the mosquitoes are rampant.
