I had a great time living at Crescent Arbors. I was there for five years. Debbie was a wonderful property manager - it really matters when you have one that is professional and kind like Debbie. Maintenance requests were handled promptly and the grounds were always kept in great condition. The property itself is very relaxing. If you are a reasonable person searching for a calm place to live - I recommend Crescent Arbors. If you are noise sensitive, like all apartments, go to the top floor. This apartment community is awesome. People are so friendly and it is so nice as it is a quiet neighborhood. The apartments are nicely built with different styles. I have lived here for 7 years and it differently has been great. The office manager Debbie is very professional and goes out of her way to make your experience a great one. The assistant manager is very knowledgeable also and she is very friendly. Maintenance is also fast to do any need that may come up though I have never needed them. It's a place that's designed for empty nesters. If you're looking for a place that responds to emails in 24 hours or with just one phone call, this isn't your place. Also, lots of wood roaches given the price of the place. I've now lived two other places in NC, and nary a wood roach so far. Past that, it's a nice place with decent amenities. Pros: Convenience, water included Cons: Deceitful Personnel that lies about everything (maintenance guy said the issue with our building was due to a leak but plumbers said there was a clog), was told while unloading our stuff on the first move-in day that we were not allowed to have trailers parked on premise even though ours was enclosed (and while others were able to store their motorcycle and trailer, which is pictured below), cold apartment in winter, too hot in the summer, building is old and porous, spent over $150 on power bill through Duke Energy per month, loud concert played during the summer/fall which kept me from studying until 10pm, manager charges rent at her own discretion, we had different rental rates each month and some months we had nothing show up, manager forgets to put in amount due or does not put in correct rental amount in portal and blames you when it is not paid, charged us for a blind that was already old when we moved in and could have simply been put back up, went to Dominion realty with all of these issues and they also lied to us and did nothing about these issues. We contacted the attorney general's office and was informed to contact the city of Cary about not maintaining a comfortable environment, and the city of Cary spoke with the property. Also, your car paint will be ruined due to many leaves and tree particulates that fall, and the car wash is used by people other than residents. Overall, there's too many issues. read more

If you like palmetto roaches then this is the place for you. Also, make sure you take pictures of everything because they will make up lies about damages that you did not create just so they can keep your lousy $200.00 deposit. They also told us that the reason they charge you two months' rent when you break the lease is that it costs $2600.00 to clean the place. YELP Evaluation - Crescent Arbors Apartment Homes, Cary NC - March 16, 2021 Clarke Atkins, DVM, Professor Emeritus, NCSU, College of Veterinary Medicine This is an unsolicited positive evaluation of the Apartment Homes at Crescent Arbors in Cary, NC. I lived there from Spring 2014 until this Spring, 2021, for a total of 7 years. I often commented to myself and others what a nice place it was. Since moving in February, I have felt a bit nostalgic and now want to make a more public evaluation. Location (location, location): It is hard to imagine a better location, 11 minutes from Raleigh, with easy access to Hwys 64, 1, 55, and the Beltline. It is walking distance to 2 lakes (including Symphony Lake, home of Regency Park Concerts), Lochmere Golf Course, Lifetime Fitness, 2 shopping centers, which include a Walmart Superstore, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter and all the other shops found in Crescent Commons and Waverly Place, plus it is a 4-minute drive to the McGregor shopping center. There are a number of greenways within walking distance, including Hemlock Bluffs, a truly unique nature experience. There are multiple ethnic and traditional restaurants, a brewery, Whole Foods, fast foods, and a Lucky 32, TGIF and O'Charlie's, very short distances away, some within walking distance. The Grounds: Almost everyone who visits, comments on the beautiful grounds and winding tree-lined entry road, Crescent Arbor Lane. The grounds, a multi-acre woods with winding roads, ample parking, are always well groomed, with well-kept flower beds, and potted plants. There is an abundance of suburban wild life. Each year, a major project is undertaken by the management, including a fire-pit, new paint, new roofs, covered arbor for lounging poolside, and the addition of pickle-ball courts to the already present tennis courts. The main office and club house is very nicely appointed, with an office, printer, newspapers, a coffee maker, and pastry treats for residents. There is a covered car wash, with a vacuum unit, which is very handy, and a bank of industrial quality gas barbeques. To me the crown jewel is the swimming pool, lovingly cared for by Ray, the head of maintenance. It is beautiful, always pristine, well maintained, properly chlorinated, and really a delight. The Units: I will only comment on my unit; there are multiple sizes and configurations, however. My apartment was clean and well-appointed when I moved in. My unit is sunny and bright and has high ceilings and a gas fireplace. There is a nice balcony with a storage unit, in my case, overlooking the pool. All kitchen appliances are included, although washer and dryer are not. There is a laundry room which can house tenant-owned or rented appliances or be used for additional storage. Additional outside storage units and garages are available for rent, as well. My carpet was cleaned gratis each year if I felt it needed it and some carpet was replaced during my stay. I would also say that the apartments are cleverly designed to be attractive, functional and to maximize use of space. Importantly, the apartment design and sound- proofing are such that noise from neighbors is minimal.The outer aspects (stairs, walkways, and sidewalks) are kept immaculate, the greenery well-trimmed, and the units vermin-free. Neighbors are generally polite and caring, following the apartment rules and standards of courtesy. The complex seems to attract mature individuals, though families with children are tenants and are certainly made welcome. My point is that the environment is quiet, not oppressively so; but there are few instances when a neighbor bothers another tenant. The Management: You do not get all that I have mentioned without great leadership. This begins with Debbie who manages the complex, along with Ray, mentioned above and Cindy manning the front desk. They are truly phenomenal with Debbie and Ray being long-term associates. Ray knows the place, its idiosyncrasies, and how to keep everything ship-shape. I never knew of a problem that was not quickly attended to, including keeping the stairs, sidewalks and parking navigable and safe during winter storms. Debbie knows every resident by name and is a great manager, walking the line between having rules, keeping things running properly, guiding wayward tenants and being a sweet Southern hostess, who wants your experience there to be top-notch. She is also stylish, which is reflected in the décor and furniture in the office/club house. She and Cindy provide celebrations for all guests multiple times each year, depending on the season. These themed get-togethers may be "open-house" affairs or more formal catered parties with food and drink. In addition, she provides a Quarterly Newsletter that is well-done and useful and sometimes arranges for speakers to provide presentations that might be of interest to tenants. We highly recommend Crescent Arbors Apartments. They are conveniently located near lots of stores, restaurants, medical facilities, and service centers. The upscale apartments are clean and well maintained. The tennis court, free car wash, pool, and fire pit make a welcoming place to enjoy. The staff is exceptional! We moved into one of the recently renovated rooms and everything has been great in our year there. Super quiet, great sound dampening between units. Staff has been responsive everytime I've contacted them. We're in the process of moving out of state, but so far there has been no surprise charges. I've had no issues with bugs. I will say the Sunday staff have been much typically less knowledgeable than needed, but every other time we've gone, things have been handled very professionally. You can walk to Harris Teeter and it's right of the US 1 highway. I will say I barely saw a single neighbor, everyone seems to keep to themselves quietly. I'd definitely recommend living here for a young professional and up. read more

Crescent arbors is clean and quiet. It is not as pet friendly as claimed. There are no pet clean up stations at the complex and there are no plans to get them. There is a significant ant issue and ants would fill the apartment and even our cars after it rained. Not nearly as many amenities as you can get elsewhere for the same price. Very incompetent staff... the manager thought it would be a good idea to renovate the pool during the summer. Disappointed that I'm paying over $1,000 a month and we're not able to use the pool. Also, the grounds are invested with cockroaches. Disgusting! Don't live here. read more

I can not begin to express my sincere thanks to Debra and her entire staff.The apartment that my wife and i stayed was beautiful, clean and maintenance free.I was given a new chance at life when in october of 2019 at Duke University Medical Center a transplant which included both heart and liver.My wife and i needed a clean environment to recover for a couple months post surgery. We lived three hours away and was in need of a local place due to hospital appointments. Debbie and her incredible staff made this transition worry free .She was always available and accommodated our every need.We recommend this housing highly because of the beauty,cleanliness and customer service. read more

Apartments are private and spacious, but pulse and need more maintenance. I usually had too report issues 3-4 times before they were finally addressed. Sometime it took months. Maintenance man 'Ray' is apparently related to manager and is a nightmare. He tries to intimidate and blame residents for all issues. Many of the senior citizens living there were afraid of him. One woman lived with a clogged kitchen sink and broken garbage disposal for years because she was afraid to report it. Residents are wonderful as is most of the office staff. That said I have been waiting 6 weeks for my deposit refunds. No word yet. Location is grand, and although not the most modern, very home like instead of feeling like an apartment. If they would resolve management and maintenance issues and price more reasonably, I'd give them 5 stars but with the issues, it drops to two. read more

This apartment community has recently been upgraded but don't let that fool you, ITS LIKE PUTTING LIPSTICK ON A PIG, YOY STILL JUST HAVE A PIG! With my time at Crescent Arbors apartments I found the only thing good to say about them is well, that I no longer stay there! The apartment situation with the infestation of bugs weren't bad enough the way the office staff treated UR concerns about the crawling creatures was quite unprofessional. As a matter of fact everytime I had to speak with them it was like they were a deer starry into the headlights of a moving car!! DA !! The staff - Debbie Joyner, Cindy Cave, Kirstin - are the best features here! Ray and Christina are wonderful with maintenance and nice as can be. No onsite gym, plus non-smoking policy, helps keep the community clean and quiet. Many senior citizens, a couple families, young professionals. Not many social activities which is great for those of us requiring a quiet place to live. If you need a lot of bustle and activities, this community is not for you. While family-friendly, Crescent Arbors does not have a playground, dog park, or otherwise cater to children so again, if you are looking for places for kids to play or child-centered activities this is not the place for you. Management has raised rent $40 per month for at least the past 2 years which is driving out some of the nicest, most friendly long-time senior residents on fixed budgets who have made Cary home for decades, and creating a transient feel as the proportion of newcomers from outside the area grows. Which is a real shame, because the long-term friendships are what makes Crescent Arbors feel like home. Pool is well-maintained/clean, proximity to stores/restaurants a plus. Ants and other insects seem to be a problem on ground units, squirrels have gotten into the attics and there are snakes and mice. As others have mentioned, pine straw used in landscaping seems to be the culprit. The landscapers seem to use their blowers for hours on end blowing the same leaves around, perhaps look into limiting this. Also a "no-motorcycle" policy would be great, as there is a resident disturbing the peace with his motorcycle. read more

I'm an employee for AT&T out here working on one of their residences apt. And after completing the job I stopped by the front office to use the restroom. Well the receptionist was very polite and informed me where the restrooms room. On my way to use them the manager stopped me and directed me to another building. Which was the maintenance building. I felt racially profiled and her acts were unprofessional. Just my 2 cents. read more

The people living at Crescent Arbors Apartments are really nice and the apartments located within the complex are charming and the setting is lovely, lots of trees. I've not experienced bugs inside and the apartments are sprayed with pesticide I think quarterly. There are lots of pluses. But for me, personally, they are outweighed by negatives. While it's true that small repairs are often taken care of within a day or two, larger repairs (i.e., ventless fireplace) can take months. The heat pump feels like it pushes around cold air (other residents have confirmed this as their experience also) and it can take hours to raise the heat in an apartment and depending on the direction the apartment faces, if North, for example, in really cold weather, the SINGLE PANE windows form condensation, then ice INSIDE! A maintenance person has said to me that the condensation can turn to mold, and "if it gets really bad, they'll replace the window". So this is the good and bad of it. It's a matter of personal preference, priorities, and in general what's important to any one individual and a weighing of those considerations. I make this review only because had I known some of this (I of course had checked other reviews but none pointed out the above) and I think potential renters should know as much as possible.
