When we were referred to a specialist for a specific issue, a few days after our specialist appointment, he contacted me to follow up on the report he received from them and to make sure we were lined up with the appropriate subsequent appointments as needed. The office also has an online portal where I receive a response under 24 hours depending on when I send a message. Plenty of parking in their lot. There is a fish tank, toys and books. They have stickers and candy at the front. But if you also want to go the healthy route, they even offered my daughter an apple that was already washed and ready to go :) I do have to note, we started going to PWG earlier in 2016. My daughter was turning 3 at the time. If your child has a previous pediatrician, they will require those records from them prior to making your first appointment. At least, that's what the requirement was in mid 2016. That way the doctors have a complete history for your kiddo in their system going forward. Just something to consider. Thanks PWG!

I have switched other doctors to my local area, but once you find someone who is that good, like Dr. Chen, you never switch and drive as many hours as required. For those unaware, mixing steroids with NSAIDs is incredibly dangerous and can cause internal bleeding and even death. She and her staff are very responsive via the online messaging system and there are often times where another doctor might have made me come in to bill for an appointment but she will give a quick recommendation or prescription based on our previous conversations and my message if it's not a big change. Obviously, not the case if it's something that would require seeing me or doing labs. When I go in to see her, she remembers details not just about me but my kids and asks how things that we discussed several months or a year ago are going. In this way, she's not just a great doctor, but a great human. I've been seeing her for 20+ years at this point, since before her previous clinic was bought by Sutter. I'll never have another PCP if until I have no choice (relocation or retirement). Hoff delivers over 90 percent of his own babies--this is what made me choose him. I moved out of the Redwood City area and went to a new doctor which actually made me feel even more inclined to recommend Hoff. First off, I am the type of person who doesn't like to know all the details of procedures. Hoff comes with confidence and tells you all the important stuff and not the stuff that makes your stress level spike. He clearly knows how to handle anxious mothers or women coming in for post-baby procedures. I really like his nurse practitioner Andrea as well.
