Was looking for a snack and this was the only place that didn't belong to a huge franchise chain. The plastic models at the counter make it easy to navigate the options and the crepes are made fresh in front of you. I had the Thai chicken and it was passable. The crepe itself is thin, crisp and ever so slightly sweet. However the savory fillings were cold within minutes and it relied purely on the overly sweet sauces for flavor. My advice would be to go with the sweet fruity options of the menu, and stay away from the savory stuff. read more

Tried two items here: a savory and a dessert crepe. Both were disappointing. I guess I'm just used to crepe stands that fill the crepes up a little more. Maybe it was an off day? I'm not sure but I definitely didn't feel that it was a good value nor were the flavors paired well. The savory one needed more flavors - could hardly find the protein in the giant lettuce. And the sweet one was overly sugary - I missed the fresh taste that I was looking forward to with the fruit. Not sure we'll give this place another try. read more

Went here on the first official day of Spring Break for a snack before dinner. I'm usually disappointed with all crepe works but I was craving something sweet so I decided enough time has passed that I should try the company again. I went to the one near the Santa Maria instead of the one near Galaxyland. This time I got the Banana Supreme, which has custard, bananas, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Back then, when I got anything banana based, I would get partially green bananas so it wasn't as sweet as I wanted, and the banana was too firm. This time though, I'm happy to note this location used ripe enough bananas that it was sweet enough for me! The crepe was perfect in not being too thin, and they timed it so that the custard and whipped cream didn't immediately melt and make a mess when I recieved it. There was a bit of a lineup, but I didn't mind waiting as I know families with kids tend to get rowdy. The 2 ladies who worked here were very fast and efficient with their order taking and crepe making. I think next time I'll add an extra order of slivered almonds in mine because I do like a bit of crunch. read more

Love crepes. I don't eat them often but I usually get one while I am at West Ed and they are delicious at Crepeworks. They have such a great selection that goes anywhere from California chicken to banana supreme. Yes, some are desserts and others are not! They have a larger selection of sweet crepes and personally I like the sweet crepes. Definitely worth checking out when you are shopping. read more

I will admit I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had thought a crepe could only be dessert. That you would not be able to fit a decent snack in a crepe. I was wrong, the California Crepe or whatever it is called was awesome! The prices are great too. No more than any other fast food. The actual dessert crepes are very good to. I mean it isn't going to get a great review 3.5/5 they don't have a ton but what they do have is great! read more

I had the nutella, banana, and toasted coconut crepe for breakfast then spent a couple hours at the water park and several hours shopping. I couldn't get that flavor out of my head so I had to come back for a second helping for dinner! Would definitely recommend! read more

THE MOST DISGUSTING CREPES I'VE EVER EATING, I grow up in Paris and I know what crepe taste like and how to cook it trough EUROP too, however when I went to crepe works in the weekend!I noticed that they cook the crepe in one side and they DON'T COOK it on the other side!!!! the dough still raw and that's not even healthy!!!! and the filling and freaking Cheap and sweet like your eating an 10 years old candy milted under the sun!!! I should report them to Canadian health services, and then I should call the fire department to clean their miss with a fresh water and maybe a priest to bless the place, I HATE IT I HATE IT and I wish I could give (- 5 stars ) they don't deserve 0 even, what a disgrace for our city Edmonton. read more

I love crepes. Authentic crepes, so this place isn't much to write home about. I guess my hopes were too high for this place, considering it is a fast food joint at West Ed. It's pricey for the quality you get, and you won't get full on just one either. Then again, ask yourself if you can eat more than one first. The service is fast, but again, it's fast food. I paid nearly $7 for a single strawberry crepe, and needless to say, I was disappointed. I expected to be handed a fluffy crepe on a plate so I could eat it with a knife and fork, but when the girl handed me this contraption that looked like a funnel made out of dough, I was dumbfounded. What? Eat a crepe with my hands?? I'm pretty sure the French don't do it like that ... So go crazy if you don't mind eating bland crepes burrito-style. But if you're holding out for the better stuff, I suggest The Creperie downtown. At least your bucks are worth the bites there. read more

When I lived in Japan, crepes were sold by street vendors at major events and it was something I always looked forward too - getting a hot off-the-grill crepe filled with whipped cream and strawberries while I wandered a night market or cultural event. I always thought something like that would be a million dollar idea here too for things like the Fringe, Taste of Edmonton, Street Performers Festival, etc. When I heard from a friend that someone had opened a crepe shop in West Edmonton Mall, I was excited to go and try it out. I went this weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the plethora of menu options - crepes with strawberries, bananas, oranges, even savoury ones with sandwich meat! I tried a strawberry delight crepe. The crepe was a bit thicker/heavier than I remembered, but it wasn't too bad. The fillings were disappointing though. Instead of the whipped cream and fresh strawberries I remembered from my time abroad, I'm pretty sure I got a mix of strawberry jam, a couple strawberry slices and some cool-whip. Taste-wise, it tasted okay, but it wasn't as fresh and filling as I remembered it. Still, if you're looking for something other than ice cream or cookie for dessert, give this place a whirl. read more

I thought this was a really neat idea when I noticed this place one fine day during one of my rare visits to West. Ed. So I thought I would give it a try - well, sure glad I did!! Despite the not so positive reviews previous to mine I thought this place was WONDERFUL! Nice to have something in a food court that is not deep fried and is maybe just a little different. I tried the terryaki chicken crepe. They made it right in front of me which I thought was neat. It was delicious!! And just the right amount of food for me and I was starving at the time (mind you I am tiny and tend not to be able to ever finish regular food portions). It would be nice to see a few more 'meal' type crepes on the menu (they are slightly limited) - it's mostly fruit/dessert type crepes. The staff there were really friendly which was awesome so I would definitely try this place again (and maybe I need to check out some of the other creperies around town mentioned in previous reviews!). read more

There were two people in front of me. A young woman was working alone that night. I watched her take the other two people's orders and make their crepes from a pile of already made crepes on the counter and not prepare them fresh as they are supposed to. She took my order and I asked for a fresh crepe made to order. She ignored me and made my crepe from her pile of previously made Crepes and I could see that she still had at least three more premade crepes yet to use. My crepe was soggy and a little gross. I watched her from the moment I stood in line till I left and she did not make one crepe for the three of us. The next day I was at the mall to deposit a cheque so I went to the crepe works to let them know what happened the night before and get another one to take home. When I started to tell the guy what happened he cut me off and said I was wrong. He told me it was impossible and I did not see that. So I tell him that I know what I saw and it happened for three crepes not just mine. Again he tells me no I'm wrong they are not allowed to do that and so it was impossible. I told him that he was calling me a liar which is a bad thing to do to a customer and that I was there and he was not so I would know what happened. I tried logic as well explaining that the word impossible implies that there is no possible way for her to have done however anyone could make a bunch of crepes and pile them on top of each other. It's not even hard and in fact obviously she did it to cut corners and save time for herself. For the next twenty mins he tells me that I have no idea what I am talking about, that its impossible to happen and that I'm wrong. He also has the audacity to say I'm just in a bad mood so I'm saying these things because of that. First of all this guy knows nothing about me and I was in a great mood before when I started to tell him about it I just wanted them to make sure it doesn't happen again. Now every time I come to get a crepe he asks me if I'm in a bad mood or not which makes me feel very uncomfortable. Plus when I told him that his customer service was horrible and NO ONE talks to a customer that way that wants to run a successful business he tells me the owner would treat me exactly the same way. He gave me a card supposedly with his bosses number on it but after I left a message explaining the whole thing I never heard back. That was over two weeks ago now. I do mostly enjoy the crepes although they are NEVER made the way the example looks. It bothers me that every time I go buy one he asks me if I'm in a bad mood and makes fun of me. read more

Just the thought of crepes makes my salivary glands stand up and sing the French national anthem. A rare form of Tourrette's, perhaps? Those culinary geniuses, who gave us the gift of crepes, soufflé, Croque Monsieurs (au gratin, of course!) and French fries dipped in mayonnaise, created something that's hard to reproduce. That's why Crepe Works is so devastatingly disappointing. My mouth was watering as the very un-French batter girl spread the mystery ingredients on the grill. It looked good, it smelled good, but it tasted.... mech. It was half-cold in the inside, the ham in my ham'n'cheese crepe was cheap and fatty. The fresh parmasen hadn't melted all the way through, so it was hard like rind, and the flavours just weren't those of the crepes I ate in France and never quite was able to forget. It's like different pancake batters: they all tend to look the same, but they don't all taste the same. Crepe Works, you should have got your recipe from the Frenchie's. I hear the Creperie on Whyte is awesome, though I've never been there. It' s also a little pricey apparently, but I'll have to try it and save that for another review. read more
