Tables and counter top surfaces needed cleaned. Saw at least 4 staff members behind counter. Food was typical for a small town burger joint, nothing to get excited about Staff members were younger, and rather be on their phones socializing rather than working, which was obvious. Young lady acting as cashier became confused, when I provided her 20.01 for a bill total of 9.01. I just drove all the way down here from Michigan because my wife grew up in Iowa and has been craving them for a very long time. This was our first time to try one outside of Iowa but it was very much worth the drive if for no reason other than seeing her smile. Is it the same as what she grew up with? No. Was it good? We each got two sandwiches and after finishing we got right back in line for the drive thru and each got two more. And Maid-Rite meant literally nothing to me before we got here but we are already talking about coming back again. Why? Because it was good! But my wife would say that people who love this location should go visit an Iowa location because they're just as famous for their onion rings and fries as their sandwiches.

The grease and cheese were plentiful (more than is needed). Otherwise, a positive and smooth experience.
